Older hotel & the free breakfast is in the sorta Italian restaurant. You use coupons for the free breakfast. Toilet ran constantly. (We took the top off so we could pop the rubber thing down to stop it. Didn't know the big difference in this Holiday Inn from the newer one at the airport! What a difference! If we return, we know which one to stay at NOW!

Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The one bad thing about our stay was a running toilet. Easy fix, we kept the lid off to keep it quiet. THAT was the only thing negative, of course, there was the cold wet weather that couldn't be helped.

Needs some updating. Cleaning was an issue. The hallways were discussing. I advised the front desk and they did nothing for the three days we were there. Instead they sent someone to my room to clean when I specifically requested no one enter. Not very attentive to guest requests. They just ignore and do what they want. Poor quality breakfast. Cold & recorded day Fter day the same items. No variety...

I loved the rooms and the reception was very friendly and helpful but the free breakfast was cold. The toast was hard and still white, the hash round thing almost broke my teeth when I bit into it. Could only get scrambled eggs and they were also hard and cold. No options, no refill of coffee offered . I passed many tables yet to be cleared and no one ate the eggs or 'toast'. It's a quiet and clean hotel. When I am for business always stay there. The new management has to improve the speed of the internet although not very bad.

Nice hotel. Friendly staff, clean rooms, ideal for single night stays close to the airport. If you're looking to stay for more then a couple days I reccomend staying closer in town.

This was my second Double Tree hotel on my Canadian holiday and it was great. I chose a corner room with a harbour view and it was spacious, nicely decorated and comfortable. The guest laundry was easy to use and well located. The staff were very helpful. This is actually the second time I’m staying here. My first visit, back in the summer of 2019, this hotel was undergoing a major renovation/rebranding. Now with all of the work completed, I was eager to return. Our harbor view room (two queen beds) was tastefully decorated and the view was as great as I remember. Great location on the water. Staff very professional. Rooms are clean and quiet hotel with amazing view of the bay. Treat Diamond members well not only with water and preferred parking but also free parking for Diamond members! Always a nice touch to have a warm chocolate chip cookie but we were disappointed the second night arriving back home from dinner they were being “rationed”

No exhaust in the washroom, need to call to complete the expected amenities such as slippers, etc. and the room that I got has no view. The pool was not warm enough so we and the other guests who swimming in there didn’t enjoy it much.

The breakfast was average and the room was very big. The location was not very convenient if you don't have a car. There is a convenience store in the lobby, and you can buy pre-made lunch boxes and heat them up for dinner. The driver who sent me to the airport had a very good service attitude.

The rooms are well-equipped, comfortable, spacious, clean and sanitary. The service staff is enthusiastic. This hotel is a good choice for traveling to St. John's. Here we went to Cape Spear to watch the sunrise. It was an unforgettable trip.

Hotel has a good location right by the waterfront, near all the restaurants. Rooms are decent and depending your selection may have a nice seating area, tub with jets and nice glass wall shower. No microwave in rooms or in food area. Morning breakfast is a “grab and go” (muffins, yogurt, juice and hot beverages) with no trays to bring items back to rooms.

Location couldn’t be better. I’m reading the other reviews maybe we had an upgraded room because it was very nice with a king size comfy bed. Fabulous shower with towel warmer and mood fireplace. Very VERY friendly front desk staff.

The restaurant there was closed. We had to go out to eat . The room itself was clean.. I did find a few spots on the top blanket of our beds. And I asked for extra towels every day but never received them. And the location of the elevator is very confusing.

I went here for drinks and had a great time. The bartender was very friendly and mixed amazing drinks. Unfortunately he was working alone, and it was quite busy, so there was a bit of a wait. Overall great experience, with delicious drinks!

Stayed here last night of my friends visit to NL and we were very pleased. Beautiful modern room. Great location and great service. I absolutely loved my stay. Best cocktail bar in the city bar none. Friendly engaged staff aim to please the clientele. Great selection of high end spirits. Extensive menu and they can make most anything even not on the menu. Our favourite place to relax with a really good drink.

JAG hotel is very unique featuring popular band art adorning all the walls, restaurants and guests rooms of the private owned hotel. The hotel features valet parking as limited parking available. On site restaurant and bar is great on comfort and menu choices. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. High marks for this hotel and I highly recommend this hotel.

A solid Courtyard hotel, but what makes it really stand out is the incredible service. St Johns hotels can be quite pricey during peak summer months but this Marriott property was a welcome respite. Nice location close to the harbor and nightlife and daylife. All amenities not included are near. The rooms are well appointed and have everything you need for your stay. The beds are comfortable. The staff are always willing to help with anything you may need help with.

Well worth the value, our room was clean, location and buildings were quiet, bed was comfortable. Like with other reviews, parking was an issue as we had to park on the road well away from the room. Stairs are narrow and plentiful for any one with mobility issues. Breakfast was included but somewhat bare bones.

Nice clean, well kept hotel within walking distance to downtown. If you're older, ask for a room on lower levels as the 3rd floor rooms are a bit of a hike upwards. Also, If warm out, make sure you are given a remote for the a/c.

Great location, we walked up to Signal Hill on the scenic trail. It took about an hour. Walking downtown to Water and George Street is 20-25 minutes. Nice, comfortable bedrooms and large, clean bathrooms. Definitely recommend for a visit to St. John's

Staff is very friendly and helpful, and the 24 hour front desk is always staffed which is wonderful. Parking can be limited, so you may need to park on the street some distance from your unit. You should ensure that you're good with climbing stairs - the rooms on the upper floors are only accessible by stairs. Friendly staff with a clean and welcoming atmosphere. I was at the spa yesterday for the first time. I received a prenatal massage, I felt so comfortable being there. They have the proper prenatal table which helped relieve the pressure of the baby while receiving the massage. I haven’t had any of the other services, only the massage (as of now). For 23 years, this has been my FAVORITE Saturday morning brunch. I haven't stayed in the rooms, but the restaurant has an awesome, cozy feel. And the staff are great. If you order the toutons GET THEM DEEP FRIED!! ♡

Had the soup of the day, Moose Vegetable Soup, with a prime rib sandwich. Definitely didn't disappoint. The soup was loaded with moose meat and the prime rib was delicious.

There is no better place to go in St. John's to get an authentic English pub dining atmosphere. On top of that, the food is excellent, well priced, and the service is friendly and prompt.

This place is an absolute gem!! David, our host, was super friendly and whom we got the privilege to know personally. He gave us some of the best tips while visiting Newfoundland.
