Generally, we had a pleasant 4-night stay at this hotel. The location is definitely the selling point, as it’s central to many local spots. The hotel’s downfall, as mentioned in other 1 and 2 star reviews, is its customer service. For example, the cleaning service is available from 9 - 2 pm. We left our room and removed the privacy notice by 9:30 AM, and were looking forward to returning to a clean room later that evening. However, when we got back to our room, it had not been cleaned. We called the front desk and were only given the option to receive sheets and towels for us to make the bed ourselves. No apologies were provided for the inconvenience. We requested it be cleaned the following day and received an extremely low effort service - they only made one of the beds, did not fold or replace any towels, did not replace any of the dishware, etc. As it had not been cleaned the day before, this was extremely disappointing & not up to Marriott’s usual standards.
We expressed our disappointment at check out and no apologies or actions to correct the issue were offered. Not only that, but they hit us with an extra $140 dollar charge for a third person staying in the room, even though we indicated the third person when booking. They claimed that while we had selected 3 guests, the price we were shown was for 2 and that this is their standard process. It felt extremely deceptive, and therefore, we would not stay there again, nor recommend it for others.

First time at this location. Reasonably priced as far as Vancouver is concerned. Within walking distance of beaches and seawalk. Room was clean and quiet. Most of the front desk staff were cheerful and helpful. One concern was rather early check out at 11 a.m.. Wanted $25 an hour beyond that, even for Bonvoy members...haven't seen that before.

Unfortunately we stayed during a strike so I can't comment on a lot of the reasons why we booked the hotel in the first place. The pool was closed and there was no complimentary breakfast. Two of the big reasons that likely would have made things easier and more palatable. I was there with small children so those were big inconveniences as it meant we were out of the hotel more than expected. The surrounding areas are rough. Heading north on Hornby or west on Davie you pass situations that are difficult to explain to small children (homeless and drug problems). East on Davie is much less problematic. There are a ton of food options within a few minutes walking distance. Transit is super convenient and in terms of kids there was a nice playground east on Davie, just about a 5 minutes walk.
The hotel room was nice. The big fridge and kitchen were invaluable. I'm sure the grocery service they offer would have been very helpful. Well stocked cooking utensils and pots and pans.

My family stayed here for 4 nights. This hotel has basic facilities, good location for the price. Unfortunately, some staff went on strike. The strike was planned in advance. The hotel should have announced it when I checked in. I only found out on the 2nd day when there was no breakfast. This is also a sign of the economic downturn. Anyway, my family was not affected much because the room had a kitchen to prepare a quick breakfast. I was compensated with a 25% discount on the total bill. Hopefully the strike will end soon

We are a family of four adults and this hotel worked out very well for us. The room was quite spacious including some seating space and a kitchenette.
The beds were comfortable and the linens were excellent.
The bathroom was clean and functional.
Location wise we found the hotel very convenient. We walked around downtown quite a bit.
There is paid parking onsite.
The breakfast was adequate.

This was a fantastic place to stay. Close to so many things in the city center and an easy walk to the stadiums. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We needed adjoining rooms and it wasn't a problem. Both rooms were above our expectations with small kitchenettes, comfortable beds, and very soundproof. You hardly heard people in the hallways or any of your neighbors. The hotel was over-the-top clean and offers one of the best buffet breakfasts I've had in a while. We will return.

If I could give more stars, I would. Our short stay was wonderful and almost all thanks to the amazing staff. Cynthia, in particular, is 11/10 amazing. She went as far as booking tickets for us on the computer to the Christmas markets, when we were just asking questions about it! She was so lovely. Breakfast was awesome. Something for everyone and also a gluten free only station. I would travel from Australia to Vancouver over and over again just to stay here.

The hotel was impeccable!! The front desk staff is amazing. Housekeepers do a good job, but they will throw your containers away if they're left on the counter even if they're clean. The ladies in the kitchen are the sweetest. Overall, my month's stay there was wonderful. I can't wait to stay with them again.
