Great place to stay with friendly staff

Small, quiet hotel just outside Basel. There is a tram and another bus station close to the hotel. A nice restaurant is beside the hotel. The rooms are compact, interesting design of 2- door wash room. Safe and hair dryer are in every room. Need to ask the reception for iron and iron table.

This is a delightful family-owned hotel. The location is tucked back in a sleepy residential area of this small town. It was an easy walk to town center. The facility is charming and the rooms are surprisingly spacious. It is worth paying 10 € extra to get a newly-renovated room. I had second-level quarters with a balcony replete with table and chairs to facilitate enjoyment of the late summer weather...

Three starts as it was extremely clean! Below average hotel, the bed was really uncomfortable :( only cold buffet breakfast, almost ok but overpriced.

My favorite hotel in Basel. The location is Perfect! Close to everything. Very clean, great breakfast with homemade jam! Super helpful owners always around. The location is very convenient.

Good location near the central station and public transport to the city center (free with the Basel Card they gave us at check-in). The hotel itself is decent, but sufficient for someone just passing through.

I come back and check in here again, the staff saw me have lots of big luggages so she choose the room which is infront the elevator for me! The room is nice and big and have coffee machine for you. Love most is the locations which is 100m. from the main station and tram just infront the hotel.

It truly lived up to its reputation; it's like a maze, after taking the elevator you still have to climb stairs. The pillows are really flat!

The hotel and its surrounding area are clean, people are very friendly. The restaurant was busy in the evening which is usually a good sign and indeed the food was excellent. The scissors between service and price/ quality is not good. Old Hotel, minimal room, old furniture. Top point the garden restaurant ( expensive!!! ) to be in Germany , and positin very close to the borders

The dishes we had were above average, even if a little more expensive than you are used to from anderen Greek restaurants.

Hotel was tidy and "as expected". Nice and helpful staff, and convenient free parking outside. The Greek restaurant was really great, with some of the best Greek food I've ever had and really nice staff as well. Would recommend both, but the restaurant especially.

The staff were ever so helpful. A lot of the staff spoke multiple languages, which helped a lot. (I am only English speaking) Catered for gluten free and offered oat and soya milk. Fully stocked fridge with beer, water and soft drinks. 5 mins walk from the highstreet. 20 min walk to vitra museum. Only rated 4/5 for condition because there was ongoing maintenance which I wasn’t aware of....

The description of the hotel on the homepage is exactly as it is. Small hotel, a bit dated but perfect new beds and i could sleep with open windows, very few traffic. Very nice warm welcome. Fast reaction to all questions regarding booking. Free and tasty coffee !

Very friendly reception, free parking in front of the hotel, clean, quiet rooms, good location. Breakfast available just around the corner. The city center is easily accessible by public transport. Very suitable as a stopover hotel, but also pleasant for a longer stay, as the surroundings are very beautiful

Nice place to stay. The lady serving the breakfast is funny and always in a good mood. Front desk, Sophie is always available to help, whatever the matter is. Tram station just steps away, super convenient. I felt home. Definitely an excellent place to choose.

A great little hotel if you want to use the DBB station and not the SBB. Huge room, clean and comfortable. Eating options are great at the station across the road.

Its excellent. The room design is minimalist with appropriate and useful amenities its very spacious , it spotless, bed and pillows are great. It smelled clean and fresh, the staff are awesome and very helpful! Jizelle and Katie especially. We would stay here again .

Royal hotel Staff were amazing, helpful and friendly, checkin easy, only slight issue was the fold down bed mattress was very thin and had metal bars prodding through when you lay down for the 4th person in our room, great to get our Basel travel cards too, location brilliant so overall highly recommended

Clean no frills hotel. Nice clean room with good size bathroom and shower. In room tea and coffee making facilities. No evening meal in hotel but I'd does have a bar. Breakfast is good and best cuppicino I have ever had from a machine. You are given a free pass to use the local transport which is excellent (this might happen in all hotels).

Excellent service and attention to our needs. We arrived with one extra person than they were expecting as my booking for 5 didn't match theirs for 4. No issues though, an extra bed was put in our apartment shortly after we checked in. Apartment was well equipped and any extra supplies of coffee or tea we quickly delivered to us. The hotel is located in a really good location right in the centre of Basel, The rooms where very modern and stylish. I slept really well in a very clean bed. The hotel also gives you free public transport tickets and free WiFi is available everywhere in the hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would happily stay there again.

Nice hotel to stay overnight in the basel area. It is located in a quite part of a village and one has the idea to sleep in the country site. The rooms are large and comfortable and good value for money. The checkin was fast and very friendly. Had a thoroughly enjoyable evening here catching up with an old friend. It's a little out of the way, but the staff were friendly, service was excellent, and the food was just what we were looking for. I ate snails in garlic butter which were the best I think I've ever eaten, followed by a Wiener Schnitzel which they allowed me to swap the chips for spätzle, which was heavenly. We had such a lovely, warm welcome and the staff could not be more helpful. Inside, the hotel is clean and welcoming. The hotel is very conveniently positioned and about 10 or 15 minutes to the tram stop into Basel. The breakfast was absolutely first class - plenty of options and the rooms were great.

Booked the hotel for a stopover. The location initially put me off, but the hotel is close to the highway and several restaurants. Upon arrival, we received friendly service. A nice, spacious apartment for four people. The curtain on the top floor wasn't adequate, but it wasn't a problem for our children. The bathroom was also clean, and the beds were comfortable. Charming Riehen Hotel Charming hotel in Riehen, sadly we didn’t get to sample the restaurant as were visiting family, however the room, decor and friendliness of the staff were all great. Also the hotel enjoys fast tram and bus links to the centre of Basel as well as being very close to the railway station.

The hotel is a little tired. The pillow for the bed was awful to cool the room you have to open the window which was ok but the street noise from vehicles was bad. Hardly slept. Shows is tiny and towels were thread warn. Room size was ok typical European hotel

Average property has not been kept up - we had broken fans. Staff pleasant but slow or no response to requests e g for clothes hangars. Breakfasts were fine though limited in variety. Convenient on tram line and near Rhine for floating.

Returned here with pleasure. The staff is still charming and professional, rooms with character and elegant, attention to the details still there in this changing world. The breakfast exquisite and chic as well, the terrace and the bar closet to perfect. Watching a place keeping its quality and charm is always great.

Fantastic hotel in great location. Epitome of the Swiss hotel. Beautiful views and walking distance to most things. Morning walks along the river are a great way to start the day. The food in the hotel is exceptional. The bar is a great place to meet or unwind at the end of the day.

Everything was perfectly set up, from check in, to room amenities, to my treatment at the spa, my lunch at the brasserie, and dinner at the Cheval Blanc. I do not regret having crossed the doors of this hotel 6 years ago, the service, the quality, the traditions, have remained the same. Thank you to the entire team of Les trois rois.

Great hotel. Small bathroom and the toilet was extremely cramped. The beds are nice. I do recommend bringing your own pillow. Extremely soft! Great service though and lovely people. Would stay again

Spent a night there on a business trip and was positively thrilled with the accommodations. Very modern rooms with a lot of comforts and an attentive and caring service personnel. I liked it very much.

Exactly what you expected. Only disappointment was we asked the cleaner for fresh towels and was told no. Had to use the same towels for 4 days. No bed change either.

Teeny tiny with no extras I should have read up more on this “hotel”. We didn’t see any employees at all and since we arrived early, we had to pay extra for check-in since there was no one to store our luggage. The room was no bigger than the bed, no a/c, little loud with window open, rv sized shower. Pricey for what you got. Extra $ for maid service. Location was fine.

Above an Indian restaurant so the corridors smelled of Indian cuisine. Clean and tidy. No mugs for the coffee in the room though, just glasses. I.e., you'd burn yourself trying to drink hot drinks from them!
