The hotel itself is showing its age, and the room facilities are old, but the triple room we stayed in was very large, and the beds were large and comfortable. Breakfast was very satisfying, and the bar on the lobby floor was appealing. The location is very close to the highway, making access excellent, and the large car park is well-equipped, so we were satisfied.

Reasonable price, restaurant was quite good but hotel looked bit tired, only one lift was working while we were there.

Do yourself a favor and find another place. This used to be a decent hotel. The whole place is getting older and now they upcharge for everything. Breakfast used to be small but good buffet. Now 20 euro for crappy English breakfast. Can't even get a cup of coffee here. This will be last time staying here for business or recommending to international colleagues coming to Weil for business. Very sad...

Staff coping very well under challenging conditions. No airconditioning and only 1 working lift. They remained polite and friendly despite people complaining about the lack of airco on a 35 degree day!  Rooms are large and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Had car problems and needed to stay overnight. We were able to get a room around midnight when other hotel options were already closed. The staff was accommodating and provided us with a free parking space for our car and the trailer, which usually would set you back 20€. Had a lovely drink at the bar and we were ready to head out the next day.

We enjoyed our stay here very much, the location is very central to the train station and trams, as well as easily walkable to main tourist attractions. The hotel is on a bustling street with late night bars. The breakfast buffet is provided with fee, but it was very delicious.

Very nice hotel but on an extremely loud street I really like the hotel except for the enormous amount of noise (people partying, "music" playing, etc) coming from the street until 2am or so. I couldn't sleep despite closed windows.

Great location. Note: Art House does not have air conditioning and it reached 93°F when I was there. So hot.

Very nice and comfortable rooms. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. The location is great, walk to many old town areas, and central to many tram lines.

It was a bit noisy on weekends, the room was not very big, and the breakfast was very good.

The hotel is perfectly located for exploring the city. The service and facilities are excellent! We were very impressed and satisfied.

Everything was better than expected! The room were advertised as small, and they are but not cramped, very optimised and slick. Super clean. Simple yet tasty quality breakfast. But the staff was everything. Despite the pandemic, warm welcome, a glass of wine, good conversation, discrete. I will go again next time I visit Basel for sure!

I had booked a single room and I guess the hotel upgraded me to a larger room with larger bed. Loved the rainfall showerhead and little details like motion sensor nightlights for those midnight trips to the bathroom. Nice place. Good breakfast. Great internet. Convinient location. Very close to all major shopping places and tram station. They provide you free tram pass. You can take free bus ride from and to airport and train station too. Very very friendly staff. On day one they welcome you with one free drink in the evening. No restaurant. Breakfast included.

My wife and I stayed in room #6 with our two daughters. The room was huge and on two levels. Amazing to have so much space. Spotlessly clean and located next to the city centre. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We were delighted with our choice and I recommend this hotel most highly to anyone wishing to visit Basel.

Very nice hotel, friendly staff even took the time to help us take the car out of the parking lot (it's a big car). Very clean hotel rooms rain shower, electric blinds, big smart tv. Free wifi, dogs allowed. Everything you could ask for. Also a free breakfast included. Such a beautiful location with the city next to the hotel and Germany on 5mins with the car. Thank you!

Very reasonable price great room , but could do with making it bed and breakfast

We just stayed here with our family (two young daughters) and it was a great experience! Clean rooms and very friendly reception by all the staff. The rooms were quiet, stayed dark with the blinds and new windows, and were very spacious and modern. Would love to stay there again for the location, price, and service

This is a charming hôtel. Staff are very welcoming, rooms are clean and quiet and it is very close to the city center / old town. Go for it!

Ideal location, centeal yet quiet. Receptionist is a lovely lady and so friendly. The room has No kettle No iron It has a hair dryer. Room was spacious. What I love about this hotel is that the they have a double size mattress which is unusual in Swiss hotels.

Convenient and next to train station.

The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the train station. They even provide a city transport card, allowing free bus travel and 50% off at attractions and museums. The decor is a bit dated, but all the basic facilities are there. A tram stop is right outside, which saved a lot of walking. There's also a large supermarket and food court nearby where you can find Thai and Middle Eastern cuisine...

Staff were friendly. I was offered a free bus pass for the duration of my stay, but I wasn't explained the other benefits straight away. Also, I was expecting tea/coffee facilities in my room, but I did not have any. Hotel situated close to station, so getting around was easy.

Very satisfied, convenient transportation, close to the train station, three minutes walk from the door, sufficient living facilities around, the town is very quiet, very suitable for landing in Switzerland for transit, of course, it is also good to go to Colmar

Near the train station. 3mins walk. Platform 20 has a ramp at the end that leads to the back of the hotel. Air conditioning was not really working and rooms were stuffy.

Great value for the money. Great location - walking distance to all areas - team right outside. On busy street that room faced on to but when doors to balcony were closed it was very sounds proof. Small room but very cute, clean, and well appointed - good beds. Wanted for nothing.

There is a tram stop in front of the hotel. Coop. It is 200 meters away from congress. It is very convenient for me to attend a conference. The only inconvenience is that the hotel elevator cannot be used during the stay. Fortunately, the hotel waiter (male) can help carry the luggage upstairs.

Very good location, easy to go anywhere because hotels guests entitled for city transportation all free including to and from Basel airports and railway stations. Toilet is a bit small but hot water is great, staff are very friendly.

excellent location at the city centre, SBB train station is 10 minutes tram ride. Walking distance to River Rhien. Small single room but with excellent hot water shower. Breakfast buffet is simple, cooked scrambled eggs and bacon provided but not very hot.

Property is Ok, but like staying at a Holiday Inn, but I’ve stayed at better Holiday inns. Very expensive .

Must stay hotel!! Hotel was amazing. Top notch. Customer service was great, room was large and clean. We also used the wellness spa (sauna and steam room). Bohemia is the restaurant next door where breakfast was included. Typical European breakfast but good quality. You also get passes to use the transit system around town for free.

We had a very good stay at hotel Marthof. My only objection is that the twin beds were very narrow and undersized.. It would be nice to have two full-size beds in a room and also I did not get a bathtub although I had asked for one. The staff was wonderful and the hotel is clean and well located with good service

It was one of the best hotels I've ever been. I recommend it to everyone. If I go back to Basel, I would definitely choose only this hotel.

The windows are not soundproof, everything else is good

The location is great, the only thing is quite loud because you can hear everything thats happening n the street, apart from that the location is great and loved the hotel and the restaurant is outstanding!!

This hotel is great. The staff are very nice and helpful in every way. It has all the amenities that’s required for tourists and it’s very clean.. Breakfast was good no complaints here. They even have a QRCODE for a free ride on the tram or bus. how cool is that. They even called a taxi for us to take us to the Viking tor departure. We definitely recommend this hotel. I wanted to share that the service at this hotel is well above and beyond any expectation I could ever have! We had an issue as a result of a our previous tour. The manager Nikolas, showed such kindness, care and attention to help us take care of it and fix it. Had a wonderful time and experience in Basel, Switzerland. The Passage Hotel significantly contributed to that experience. I have stayed in several European hotels and this is by far one of the best places I have been to. Breakfast was excellent and catered for most individuals. Wonderful location, beautiful views, friendly staff, room was nice. My only negative comment would be the rooms were rather dark, need more lamps or overhead. We went during a hot spell but we were not expecting to no have air conditioning (we had a fan that helped some)

Loved the location. We were there for National Swiss Day and ate at the restaurant where we had great food and a front row seat for the fireworks. The staff could not have been more pleasant. They shifted our dinner reservation at the hotel restaurant and provided recommendations for other places. They provided coffee service on each floor. The location is great. Breakfast is good. The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially Victoria, she is wonderful. However, the property is very dated, no air conditioning, my room was very small and very basic. The bathroom, which seems it has ben recently renovated, is too small even with the sliding door solution. I don't really know how this hotel was classified as a 4-star hotel.

Arrived in Basel a day early to begin a Rhine River cruise. Folks at Hotel D were nice, accommodating. Good directions and some site maps provided. The hotel was centrally located and not far (walk or tram) to where the rive boat dock was. Nice lobby and though small (standard for Europe) had a nice room. Over all clean and sufficiently supplied. Easy to walk around from to see old city sites...

We added the breakfast option which was 27CHF pp. Kind of pricey but the breakfast was good and a fat amount of options. There are lots of places close by to eat at.

Very charming hotel. Close to Old Town, museums, and shopping. Unfortunately, all the shops were closed as it was Easter Weekend. This was just a one night stay to get accustomed to the 7 hour time difference. The room was very tidy, had everything we needed and an extremely comfortable bed. The staff was more than helpful. Hotel is on a main artery and was very noisy with the street traffic. Tram went by all night, didnt get much sleep.

Excellent location, clean and well maintained. Bed was comfortable and room was much larger than we anticipated. Bettina checked us in and she was delightful. We left luggage at desk a few hours before check-in, and it was taken to our rooms before we returned. The hot beverages and croissants were also a pleasant surprise.

Comfortable room with fan provided. Hotel was a quick tram ride away from the main station. The pillows were very soft however; I was a solo traveller and able to take one more from the other bed, but others might not be able to do this.

The room was very clean and the staff super friendly. But if you're a light sleeper like me I wouldn't recommend; you could easily hear the noise of the street and the rooms next to you. Also I found it quite irritating that the room wasn't darkened. Great breakfast choices also for vegans, loved the huge muesli bar 🫶🏽

5 minutes walk to Messe Basel and Basel congress center. Stayed for 1 week for business. 3 minutes to tram station. The service was great and friendly.

Very nice staff. Clean and near room in the lift. 2mins walk to the tram, 5mins walkable to the cafes, shops. 10mins to the mall and river. 10mins from train station by car. Very accessible to everything you need.

We didn't stay long but it was a nice hotel (we stayed in an apartment) and got such lovely service when we arrived. Good wifi. Expensive parking and they add city tax when you leave so be prepared for that. We loved that there was a washer in the apartment!

My colleagues and I came here on a business trip. The surrounding environment of the hotel is very good, there are few people and it is quiet. It is also close to the surrounding industrial parks. It is a very good experience. I will consider staying here next time.

Excellent hotel, everything is top notch... The room is spacious by Swiss standards. Excellent location. Good breakfast. They give out a Basel card: free travel on public transport and a 50% discount on museums, theaters and almost everything. The most delicious Swiss apples were waiting for us in the room. It can be said that this is the most satisfying hotel during my trip to Switzerland. It is better than expected, clean and comfortable. It is also larger than other Swiss city hotels. The service attitude is good and the breakfast is also good. I will definitely come again if I have the chance to visit Basel next time.

The room was very stuffy, although it got cold outside that day, unfortunately they didn't think to prepare the room by airing it out.. there is no air conditioning in the room (there was a fan, but it is uncomfortable to sleep with it at night, and you can't open the windows because they overlook a very noisy road), there is no kettle (you can go down to the cafe and drink tea and coffee for free...

Reception staff came quickly and was friendly and helpful. Tight car parking, but very close. Nice restaurant attached with live music and chef who showed us proper way to eat some Ukranian dishes. Greet street car access to various sites. Our std double room had a small, but very workable bathroom. Our window opened into a building filled court yard.

The location of the hotel was good. The size of our room was good. It was clean. The internet was used very limited. This was a bit annoying.

The room is not very big, but it is very exquisite and the facilities are very new. It is very close to the venue, so it is very convenient to book. The cleaning is also very good, relatively quiet, and it is cleaned very well every day.

What we liked best was the location. Very near the tram stop and overlooking the Rhine River. The Room was of a decent size and very clean. We arrived early and the receptionist was kind enough to give us an early check-in. The next day we left early morning and they gave us a packed bf too. The only minus point would be the noise from the streets but guess that's because ours was a Friday night....

Wonderful location, our room had a view of the Rhine with big, deep windows. We were here in December but I think it would be wonderful any time of the year. The staff was professional and polite. Very helpful! The room was somewhat basic - the bathroom was large and modern. The parquet floors were VERY, VERY squeaky! It was very clean.

Very slow patio service on a crowded, hot Thursday summer night. First round drinks were served fairly timely, food was slower. It took a very, very long time to ultimately get our check. Server did not come for more than an hour. Drinks were empty and no question of coffee or desert. We saw other tables also desperately trying to get our server’s attention.

We have stayed here a few times and only just realised that I have never left a review. Always a friendly and efficient check-in/out. Perfect for a quick stop. Free Parking, WiFi (although bit slow). And breakfast for Just 5euro (buffet). Room had TV, fan, hairdryer and a small table where you can sit and work. You can't move the two single beds to make a double bed so make sure you specifically say what bed you want when you book. :) Even if you book for multiple days, you only get tiny shampoo packet and no toothpaste. No problem...

It was a very stressful stay. If you are short on time, do not book this hotel at all (no breakfast, no lunch) you have to book yourself and you need internet... I regret it so much (I lost so much time) Thank you 🌹..anyway.

My late flight was cancelled and I made a last minute booking. Due to the nature of my last minute booking I arrived late and left before the reception team arrived in the morning. The staff member at check in booked me a taxi for the morning. The room was basic but very comfortable.

Small, quiet hotel just outside Basel. There is a tram and another bus station close to the hotel. A nice restaurant is beside the hotel. The rooms are compact, interesting design of 2- door wash room. Safe and hair dryer are in every room. Need to ask the reception for iron and iron table.
