One of the best hotels.we have stayed in our 18 days in Germany. Rooms are spacious and cosy. Staff is helpful. We have experienced a fair share of racism in Germany hospitality. You get what you pay for here, basic room to stay in in the heart of Bamberg; it was pretty much equal walking distance to the train station and the old town. Staff were not the friendliest but, again, this was really a great value and no worries on our part.

I stayed here for four nights in August and I rate it as one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff were friendly, welcoming and also quite funny! Really nice rooms. Quite spacious when getting a room for 3-4 and putting 3-4 people and their luggage in it. Housekeeping was perfect. Only complaints are the wifi is spotty in some areas/rooms and they could have used more luggage stands.

The rooms are nothing special but clean with enough space for luggage. The service is very friendly. Shopping locations and restaurant set in a lovely historic city center are just a short walk away. Over the street is a small beer shop with local and international brewing specialities.

This is a cozy, family-run hotel conveniently located near Bambergs quaint downtown, as well as a couple of brewpubs. We loved our stay here!

The hotel is located on the top of the hill so if you have a heavy luggage then you may consider taking a taxi from a train station. It's still a walking distance anyway. Rooms are clean and cosy, friendly and helpful staff. Full continental breakfast with a glass of fizz was a nice surprise! :)

Please AVOID this place at all cost. If You do not arrive between 15 -20 pm You will not get access to the rooms.???!!!?? ...they will charge You full cost and You will not be permitted even next day ..and money are already gone. It is shame ..this is not a hotel service ...it cost us us a lot of stress trouble and 612EUR

After reading some other reviews we weren't sure what to expect, but parking was not a problem. Checkin went easily. The rooms are clean and the breakfast buffet is pretty awesome. We spent two days walking around Bamberg after leaving our car in the hotel parking area and though we logged over 23 km during those two days I'd still say anything you want to see is within walking distance.

We stayed from the 13. on the 14.05.2016 in the Arkaden hotel. Our room was in the old renovated wing, so that we could look in the courtyard. The facilities and cleanliness is very good. Room was refurbished and fresh but without AC. However there are fans to borrow if needed. Breakfast for 7 Euros per person was OK. Nice and helpful staff. The Hotel lies just a 10 min walk from the city centre.

The hotel is located deep within the city but not far from breweries, eateries, and local shopping. The building is narrowed in space but durable. Getting to your floors can be tricky but the staff can help with that. The staff is not 24/7. There is a elevator but because how the building was built the elevator takes you to or close to your room. For example, to get the the 300 rooms you must take...

Nice small hotel with comfortable rooms, big beds and comfortable bathroom with fan. Breakfast is very good and tasty. Close to dam on river. You can't reach it with car, only by walk. Entrance in some rooms is funny i.e. entrance for room 30x is from door around corner or from reception take lift to 2nd floor and go down stairs to the 0 level.

Great room and great service. Alina was spectacular. From reservations, check-in at reception and key issue. Did not realize that I locked my key in the room until 19.30. Clean, affordable. Great location. Bamburg is beatiful. The hotel was partially closed when we stayed there so check-in was a bit of a nightmare involving finding another hotel several blocks away where we could pick up the keys.

Loving welcome, everything a bit old-fashioned, but definitely clean, fantastically located in the middle of the old town. The garage is a real feature and is worth it for drivers, unless the car is higher than 1.80, there are also public garages within walking distance. The beds allow even non-beer-loving guests to sleep wonderfully, surprisingly quietly, at some point those partying in the streets...

I visited here because Schlenkelra was full. But I was totally impressed of their services, foods and beer. There is also Rauch beer ! (Speziel / Schlenkelra).

Nice little hotel, as centrally located as possible. Very nice and helpful staff. The rooms are clean and cozy. The bed an pillows weren't terrible but not as comfortable as expected. The breakfast buffet was rather poor with little choice. There is no parking. All in all a good place for a 2 day city break, where you only need a place to sleep and shower.

Lovely location, just next to the much-photographed, precariously floating house on the bridge. We only stopped here for a tea, which came quickly and was served in a smart glass teapot. It was very busy but in a good way, there were plenty of staff on hand to cater. Slightly pricey but that is to be expected at a hotel in such a tourist-heavy location.

This hotel has it: very romantic, super central, good cuisine, good rooms, and a price to match the location, feels, and tourist interest. If you have the money to spare, this is the place to spend it.

The ambience fits. You can tell that the country inn doesn't want to be a typical Franconian restaurant, which you can also tell when eating. Unfortunately the quality of the food varies depending on how busy it is as there is only one waiter and one chef. In summer you can relax in the garden with a beer. All in all well worth a visit.

The food (lunch on Sunday) was delicious. Very well seasoned sauces, tender meat, decent portions, fast friendly service and fair prices. The only downside: the very cool-looking light unfortunately creates an uninviting atmosphere in the otherwise beautiful and renovated guest rooms. Maybe exchange a few new LED bulbs with warm light for the old energy-saving bulbs and there will be 5 stars.

Very good home cooking, you can't complain. The portions are more than sufficient. The service area should be rated with 6 stars. Street food or food to order and collection is also great. We like to go to the mold or order the food by phone and pick it up. Also over the New Year's Eve menu was very good and priced ok. Too bad there wasn't one in 2017. We hope for 2018👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Delicious Franconian food and even for vegetarians there is always at least 1 dish on the menu, which is not the case in most traditional restaurants. Even when it was busy, the waitresses were always friendly and courteous and even the toilet area is modern and clean.

The cafe area of the hotel is a nice one, with classic decoration. It is also a patisserie, with very good variety of sweets and cakes.The coffee is good. Casual place, crowded enough, polular for travellers, dogs friendly. Outdoor space is available.

We stay in a simple room , share toilet & shower room with whole floor, no kettle in room , hotel area is abit far from city centre , bus comes and goes every hour takes only 20mins to city centre but end early. parking is free and having enough of free parking area. Our room was in modern accommodation outside the main building but that was fine for us. The room had a table and seating area inside and outside on our own patio, which was secluded from those on either side. Breakfast was inside the inn. I had a nice stay with my family here. The rooms were basic but comfortable and the location was very accessible. Parking was easy and safe. The room came with a single soap for hands/body/hair, but its Ibis so I wasn’t expecting very much anyway. Glasses for brushing teeth were available near the reception if you need them. Overall, it’s good enough for a short stay.

It was shocking that the duvet covers were dirty. I've sometimes had minor problems in the hotels I've stayed in, but this is the first time I've encountered a situation where the sheets were dirty.
