3 star hotels in Bamberg

One of the best hotels.we have stayed in our 18 days in Germany. Rooms are spacious and cosy. Staff is helpful. We have experienced a fair share of racism in Germany hospitality. Best western stands out in this aspect as the behavior is consistent among all staff, friendly and polite regardless of race or language. The bonus was, free laundry in the hotel though they charged a small fee 0.70 Euro...

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Excellent English which helped with our broken German, lol. Hotel and room were exceptionally clean. Our room, 332, was quiet and right next to the free guest laundry. The room has a/c, but don’t expect cooling like in the USA. It was 85°F during the day and 60°F at night when we were there. The a/c is just enough to keep the heat at bay, but it is not cold...

You get what you pay for here, basic room to stay in in the heart of Bamberg; it was pretty much equal walking distance to the train station and the old town. Staff were not the friendliest but, again, this was really a great value and no worries on our part.

Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Good location. Beautiful building. Noisy guests! No fan, no air con. We arrived in the heat wave, 40 degreese C.... Photos rather old...garden not tended to, rather sad and derelict. Parasols long gone from the terrace... Parking, 12€/day. Expensive? I don't think so. Overall, good value for money I would say

The hotel is located on the top of the hill so if you have a heavy luggage then you may consider taking a taxi from a train station. It's still a walking distance anyway. Rooms are clean and cosy, friendly and helpful staff. Full continental breakfast with a glass of fizz was a nice surprise! :)

Please AVOID this place at all cost. If You do not arrive between 15 -20 pm You will not get access to the rooms.???!!!?? ...they will charge You full cost and You will not be permitted even next day ..and money are already gone. It is shame ..this is not a hotel service ...it cost us us a lot of stress trouble and 612EUR

After reading some other reviews we weren't sure what to expect, but parking was not a problem. Checkin went easily. The rooms are clean and the breakfast buffet is pretty awesome. We spent two days walking around Bamberg after leaving our car in the hotel parking area and though we logged over 23 km during those two days I'd still say anything you want to see is within walking distance.

We stayed from the 13. on the 14.05.2016 in the Arkaden hotel. Our room was in the old renovated wing, so that we could look in the courtyard. The facilities and cleanliness is very good. The ambience fits. You can tell that the country inn doesn't want to be a typical Franconian restaurant, which you can also tell when eating. Unfortunately the quality of the food varies depending on how busy it is as there is only one waiter and one chef. In summer you can relax in the garden with a beer. All in all well worth a visit.

The food (lunch on Sunday) was delicious. Very well seasoned sauces, tender meat, decent portions, fast friendly service and fair prices. The only downside: the very cool-looking light unfortunately creates an uninviting atmosphere in the otherwise beautiful and renovated guest rooms. Maybe exchange a few new LED bulbs with warm light for the old energy-saving bulbs and there will be 5 stars.

Very good home cooking, you can't complain. The portions are more than sufficient. The service area should be rated with 6 stars. Street food or food to order and collection is also great. We like to go to the mold or order the food by phone and pick it up. Also over the New Year's Eve menu was very good and priced ok. Too bad there wasn't one in 2017. We hope for 2018👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Delicious Franconian food and even for vegetarians there is always at least 1 dish on the menu, which is not the case in most traditional restaurants. Even when it was busy, the waitresses were always friendly and courteous and even the toilet area is modern and clean.

A querky renovation including much of the owners own reclaimed furniture and artistic light fittings. Great location in the middle of the historic town, across the lane from a nice pub serving smokey beer. Owners very friendly and helpful.

Really good service overall. There's water, bread and more in the room all for free which was really good. Also you can make tea or coffee. I loved that! The place is clean, and very well maintained. I'm giving 4 stars only because of the size of the room. It's perfect for one person but the room the offer for two is just not enough.

Good time. Alright to stay there for the weekend for one's stay in bamberg. Best way to put it is it gives the feels of a modern art museum. We got the small double bed room. Nice hotel, walking distance to everything in Bamberg. Get the breakfast - it's good and there aren't many other options nearby. It's air conditioned but temp controlled. Still better than other hotels in the area.

We stayed in 5 different hotels during our travels through Germany, and this was unfortunately my least favorite. It's clearly designed for conferences and not for tourists. The atmosphere was very sterile and cold. The location was also a bit farther from the Old City than I realized (about 15 minute walk, which seems further when it's really cold). The hotel is located only ten minutes walk to the old town. Quite next to hotel is a public underground park. Just notice that if you take an elevator up from the parking hall, you'll end up to the different building than the hotel. If so, go out and around the corner you'll find the hotel's entrance. The rooms are extremely clean, a bit on the smaller side, especially for the price. However, the hotel is cute, and a standard European breakfast is included. The gym situation is disheartening: there's very limited equipment, but you are required to pay €4 to use it because it is connected to a sauna area.

Good environment and good service

I had a nice stay with my family here. The rooms were basic but comfortable and the location was very accessible. Parking was easy and safe. The room came with a single soap for hands/body/hair, but its Ibis so I wasn’t expecting very much anyway. Glasses for brushing teeth were available near the reception if you need them. Overall, it’s good enough for a short stay.

It is an IBIS and that is what you are getting. I thought value for money was too high but there was really a lack of alternatives. It gets the job done. Room was good, breakfast acceptable and even the car park was good.

Super happy with this hotel!! In the middle of everything we wanted to see in Bamberg! Very clean, very modern rooms (Loved the shower!!) and just the right size. It was shocking that the duvet covers were dirty. I've sometimes had minor problems in the hotels I've stayed in, but this is the first time I've encountered a situation where the sheets were dirty. Other than that, the location of the hotel is good. The underground parking lot is also positive. The air conditioning system in the room is new and works very well. Customer Service 5⭐️ - feels family run It's an old hotel with lot's of characters but also with nice ND comfortable modern furnishings. Above all, the staff was so kind and helpful as if we were in a 5 star resort. Close to the hauptbahnhof and has an underground garage where we could also lock up our ebikes. An outdated hotel. Clean and with comfortable beds. The breakfast was fine. The staff was friendly. Free covered parking is available under the hotel. Dinner is not available. However, you can dine in the surrounding area (although many places in Germany are closed on Mondays).

The room was good, and the breakfast was very good. Unfortunately, some of the information about this hotel was incorrect. For example, the reception was unmanned late on a Sunday afternoon, and the Wi-Fi in the room didn't work. The elevator also only works during the day on weekdays.

The hotel is located deep within the city but not far from breweries, eateries, and local shopping. The building is narrowed in space but durable. Getting to your floors can be tricky but the staff can help with that. The staff is not 24/7. There is a elevator but because how the building was built the elevator takes you to or close to your room. For example, to get the the 300 rooms you must take...

Nice small hotel with comfortable rooms, big beds and comfortable bathroom with fan. Breakfast is very good and tasty. Close to dam on river. You can't reach it with car, only by walk. Entrance in some rooms is funny i.e. entrance for room 30x is from door around corner or from reception take lift to 2nd floor and go down stairs to the 0 level.

Great room and great service. Alina was spectacular. From reservations, check-in at reception and key issue. Did not realize that I locked my key in the room until 19.30. Called hotel and she returned 20 minutes later to unlock the room. She is fantastic. Thank you so very much for everything you did to make our stay at Hotel Molitor exceptional. Highly recommend.

Clean, affordable. Great location. Bamburg is beatiful. The hotel was partially closed when we stayed there so check-in was a bit of a nightmare involving finding another hotel several blocks away where we could pick up the keys.

The room was on the smaller end but beds were comfy and clean. We didn't spend much time in the room as there is so much to do within walking distance so the size was exactly what we needed.

We booked our room late and ******* allowed us to book a room that wasn’t available. The proprietor sent messages in a timely manner and met us at reception even though it was past check in time and made accommodations for us. Hotel was located close to bakeries, cafes, old town and shopping. Clean, plenty of towels and bedding. Would recommend and stay again.

Okay hotel with truly awful policies Check out at 10:30am with a firm no when requesting a later checkout is diabolical. No one needs hours and hours to clean the room after you leave. The proof is that other hotels handle it just fine. This place simply doesn’t care. excellent except for the mattress protector! The location, staff, service and cleanliness were excellent. However the beds were incredibly noisy every time you moved the culprit being the mattress protector. Being a woman of a certain age it was uncomfortably hot due to the plastic/rubber material.

Nice little hotel, as centrally located as possible. Very nice and helpful staff. The rooms are clean and cozy. The bed an pillows weren't terrible but not as comfortable as expected. The breakfast buffet was rather poor with little choice. There is no parking. All in all a good place for a 2 day city break, where you only need a place to sleep and shower.

Lovely location, just next to the much-photographed, precariously floating house on the bridge. We only stopped here for a tea, which came quickly and was served in a smart glass teapot. It was very busy but in a good way, there were plenty of staff on hand to cater. Slightly pricey but that is to be expected at a hotel in such a tourist-heavy location.

Beautiful, nice Hotel. Fantastic view of Bamberg and close to the domsplatz - Bamberg-stranger in a dream. The Breakfast could offer more, but it was understandable, because our time is only 3-4 guests. What was offered was very tasty and sufficient. The rooms are very clean, large and nicely decorated. Very quiet location but on foot or with the Bus at the Cathedral or in the city centre. Nice and helpful staff. The selection and especially the quality of the Breakfast is, considering the price, really very good. All round recommended!

Our room was in modern accommodation outside the main building but that was fine for us. The room had a table and seating area inside and outside on our own patio, which was secluded from those on either side. Breakfast was inside the inn. There was plenty available and the owner ensured that we never ran out of anything. The area where the hotel was, was quiet at night.
