The hotel is close to the tourist attractions, just over 10 minutes' walk away. The hotel has a noble and classical appearance, as if living in a palace. The room was spacious, clean and quiet, but there was no air conditioning or fan. Fortunately, the temperature was only 13 degrees at night when we stayed there, so we had a comfortable night. Good rooms - only challenge was that mine only had a single window, so limited cross ventilation. However in the summers they provided a standing fan, that was helpful. The service was good. They have a reasonable breakfast spread (juices, coffee, tea, cold cuts, cheese, eggs, bread, grilled vegetables). The assortment of fresh fruits was below expectations. You get what you pay for here, basic room to stay in in the heart of Bamberg; it was pretty much equal walking distance to the train station and the old town. Staff were not the friendliest but, again, this was really a great value and no worries on our part.

Only (small) downsides are the complete non-availability of cell phone reception while I was there and a WiFi network that oscillated from amazing to non existend and demanded a new login every few hours, making me miss a few important messages and calls. Had a wonderful four night stay at the Best Western. I wasn’t expecting much but the rooms were spacious, the service excellent and very close to the old town and station make this hotel a must if you are coming to Bamberg. Also complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby and free wifi

It is a 10 minute walk from Bamberg train station, one stop by tram, and a 15 minute walk to the old town. It is also 5 minute walk from two big breweries. The room was clean and spacious, and the staff were friendly. Wish to visit again in the near future.

Very good value for money! My family and I enjoyed both the comfortable room and high quality breakfast. The only downside is that the hotel is a bit far away from the city center but we found a free parking place at the Boathouse and walked from there to the center. Do recommend to stay in Bamberg!

Overall a good and uncomplicated stay at the hotel. The hotel was really clean which is awesome, there was AC in the room and the location is quiet. Even when parking sports were unavailable the staff helped us find a solution to park our car nearby. Good Experience:)

We've been in Bamberg B&B. The position is ok: there is a bus line connecting to the city center in 10 minutes, and we found a parking spot on the street. The room was clean, modern and essential.

Can't fault it. Car Park was full but we should have booked ahead. Generally much better than expected for the price. Just about walkable to stunning city centre

the hotel appears to be newly built, it is clean, modern and has everything needed. We were positively surprised. The room was as expected. Window could be opened, but the building appears to have active air flow, which is great. There is an air condition in the room. Breakfast is also very good. Typical B&B hotel but very new. Was able to get a parking spot. Front desk boy was nice and helpful. He gave us early check-in and reheated the dinner for us. A little bit far if walking to the major tourist attractions.

The hotel is located on the top of the hill so if you have a heavy luggage then you may consider taking a taxi from a train station. It's still a walking distance anyway. Rooms are clean and cosy, friendly and helpful staff. Full continental breakfast with a glass of fizz was a nice surprise! :)

Please AVOID this place at all cost. If You do not arrive between 15 -20 pm You will not get access to the rooms.???!!!?? ...they will charge You full cost and You will not be permitted even next day ..and money are already gone. It is shame ..this is not a hotel service ...it cost us us a lot of stress trouble and 612EUR

After reading some other reviews we weren't sure what to expect, but parking was not a problem. Checkin went easily. The rooms are clean and the breakfast buffet is pretty awesome. We spent two days walking around Bamberg after leaving our car in the hotel parking area and though we logged over 23 km during those two days I'd still say anything you want to see is within walking distance.

We stayed from the 13. on the 14.05.2016 in the Arkaden hotel. Our room was in the old renovated wing, so that we could look in the courtyard. The facilities and cleanliness is very good. The ambience fits. You can tell that the country inn doesn't want to be a typical Franconian restaurant, which you can also tell when eating. Unfortunately the quality of the food varies depending on how busy it is as there is only one waiter and one chef. In summer you can relax in the garden with a beer. All in all well worth a visit.

The food (lunch on Sunday) was delicious. Very well seasoned sauces, tender meat, decent portions, fast friendly service and fair prices. The only downside: the very cool-looking light unfortunately creates an uninviting atmosphere in the otherwise beautiful and renovated guest rooms. Maybe exchange a few new LED bulbs with warm light for the old energy-saving bulbs and there will be 5 stars.

Very good home cooking, you can't complain. The portions are more than sufficient. The service area should be rated with 6 stars. Street food or food to order and collection is also great. We like to go to the mold or order the food by phone and pick it up. Also over the New Year's Eve menu was very good and priced ok. Too bad there wasn't one in 2017. We hope for 2018👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Delicious Franconian food and even for vegetarians there is always at least 1 dish on the menu, which is not the case in most traditional restaurants. Even when it was busy, the waitresses were always friendly and courteous and even the toilet area is modern and clean.

Really good service overall. There's water, bread and more in the room all for free which was really good. Also you can make tea or coffee. I loved that! The place is clean, and very well maintained. I'm giving 4 stars only because of the size of the room. It's perfect for one person but the room the offer for two is just not enough.

Stayed here in July 2014, on the upper floor. Great location. Easy walk to all attractions. Limited car parking, but we were looked by staff after and never had difficulties. Room was great with restricted views. Would happily stay there again.

Very good hotel in the middle of the old city, where everything happens. It is very clean and the rooms are spacious. Would recommend this for a short stay.

The hotel reception is closed after 18:00, so you have to check-in earlier. You have to pay attention for time, otherwise you may not any person there. But, you may find some contact informations when you get there.. On the other hand, the location of the hotel is quiet well! You can easily reach the city center by a small walk and you may find a lot of restaurants, pubs, live club, jazz club etc....

The best feature of this hotel is that it’s smack in the middle of the most popular beer bars... but it’s not the freshest or coziest of hotels...

The location is perfect, all sights were near on the hotel. You have to walk like ten minutes for the most sights. The rooms are good, some looking bit older than my room. Since my room was new, I was lucky. Breakfast was nice, too. All in all I can say that Hotel Sandstern is a good choice!

This is a nice place located in one of the many beautiful alleys of Bamberg. The food was pretty good, not my favourite though. The waiters were nice for most of the time except for when we were about to leave and basically got pushed away from our seats.

Very tasty pizza (better than any of the pizza places in town, in my opinion) and we were served with a smile even at 23:00 when most places in town are already closed or would be shocked that you came in last minute. Definitely recommend.

The rooms are extremely clean, a bit on the smaller side, especially for the price. However, the hotel is cute, and a standard European breakfast is included. The gym situation is disheartening: there's very limited equipment, but you are required to pay €4 to use it because it is connected to a sauna area.

Good breakfast at a reasonable price, our bath had only a bathtub with a handheld showerhead without a curtain. Our room was large and had three big windows, a lot of light. Good bed, I slept well. Friendly night staff, had a good chat. Still, not 4* in my book.

Booked the hotel because of its 4 stars and the good votings. But some it turned out to be misleading. The hotel itself is somehow historical and the public rooms look great. The Hotel was super cleaned and followed all the security measures due to the pandemic. The room is very spacious and beautiful. The bed and pillows are a little too soft. Unfortunately, the staff was not very friendly and quite cold people. Bamberg is a very nice town, super beautiful and fun!

Nice modern hotel in walking distance of Bamberg inner city with all the bars and restaraunts The design of the room was nice and clean, cool interior design details, like the round circular light over the bed. Friendly Hotel that I would book for short stays. The location on a main traffic route is not ideal, but the rooms to the rear are very quiet. Rooms are clean and well maintained. The Breakfast was fine, a small Buffet with a good selection. Only the Breakfast room feels a bit cold and was in the Morning also in terms of temperature to fresh.

The hotel is located deep within the city but not far from breweries, eateries, and local shopping. The building is narrowed in space but durable. Getting to your floors can be tricky but the staff can help with that. The staff is not 24/7. There is a elevator but because how the building was built the elevator takes you to or close to your room. For example, to get the the 300 rooms you must take...

Nice small hotel with comfortable rooms, big beds and comfortable bathroom with fan. Breakfast is very good and tasty. Close to dam on river. You can't reach it with car, only by walk. Entrance in some rooms is funny i.e. entrance for room 30x is from door around corner or from reception take lift to 2nd floor and go down stairs to the 0 level.

Great room and great service. Alina was spectacular. From reservations, check-in at reception and key issue. Did not realize that I locked my key in the room until 19.30. Called hotel and she returned 20 minutes later to unlock the room. She is fantastic. Thank you so very much for everything you did to make our stay at Hotel Molitor exceptional. Highly recommend.

Clean, affordable. Great location. Bamburg is beatiful. The hotel was partially closed when we stayed there so check-in was a bit of a nightmare involving finding another hotel several blocks away where we could pick up the keys.
