Really good service overall. There's water, bread and more in the room all for free which was really good. Also you can make tea or coffee. I loved that! The place is clean, and very well maintained. I'm giving 4 stars only because of the size of the room. It's perfect for one person but the room the offer for two is just not enough.

Our room was in modern accommodation outside the main building but that was fine for us. The room had a table and seating area inside and outside on our own patio, which was secluded from those on either side. Breakfast was inside the inn. There was plenty available and the owner ensured that we never ran out of anything. The area where the hotel was, was quiet at night.

The room was on the smaller end but beds were comfy and clean. We didn't spend much time in the room as there is so much to do within walking distance so the size was exactly what we needed.

We booked our room late and ******* allowed us to book a room that wasn’t available. The proprietor sent messages in a timely manner and met us at reception even though it was past check in time and made accommodations for us. Hotel was located close to bakeries, cafes, old town and shopping. Clean, plenty of towels and bedding. Would recommend and stay again.

excellent except for the mattress protector! The location, staff, service and cleanliness were excellent. However the beds were incredibly noisy every time you moved the culprit being the mattress protector. Being a woman of a certain age it was uncomfortably hot due to the plastic/rubber material.

Prima-located small Hotel in the heart of Bamberg. Everything was very clean . We had the Suite the Astra is very spacious.

The place is really cool and cozy, but there is no air conditioning (there is a portable fan instead) and the pillow (from an italian point of view) is not confortable. The car and bike parking are very well appreciated, as well as the shower.

Good connectivity. Ample parking. Good breakfast. English language could be a challenge. TV and Gym not good for the international guests. Reasonably priced.

The cheaper rooms have everything you need for a good night sleep. And a good breakfast in the morning.

I really love this place! It is an old, traditional house, renovated and used as a hotel. It is huge!!! It has a sense of a mansion of the old times. The people here are really nice too! My only problem is the toilets. They are tiny tiny rooms. My bathroom has a bathtube inside but no room to take even a step. Other than that, the place is just perfect!

Walk up to 6th floor. Hot, no ventilation, except window which carried in street noise from street restaurant. But, right in the heart of the beautiful old City. Everything in easy walking distance. If it had been a typical cool German evening instead of a hot one would have been 4 stars.

Tge location was excellent and it Was proper for low budget. But the the doors are not soundproof and when somebody talking in the next room its as if they are in your room.

Hotel has charming characteristics and breakfast is excellent. Key is not automatic, so it might make you anxious. Wifi is a hotspot one and weak. I could not do any work which requires intensive internet use. There are no kettle in the room which I could have used at night. I could not turn up a heater and room was cold at night. Reception was a bit distant to me.

This was a lovely place to stay and an excellent location! Breakfast was also delicious, my only suggestion would be some lactose free choices. We had a room with a view of the river, and were only steps from main attractions and restaurants. And the hotel itself is beautiful!

Very good hotel in the middle of the old city, where everything happens. It is very clean and the rooms are spacious. Would recommend this for a short stay.

The hotel reception is closed after 18:00, so you have to check-in earlier. You have to pay attention for time, otherwise you may not any person there. But, you may find some contact informations when you get there.. On the other hand, the location of the hotel is quiet well! You can easily reach the city center by a small walk and you may find a lot of restaurants, pubs, live club, jazz club etc....

The best feature of this hotel is that it’s smack in the middle of the most popular beer bars... but it’s not the freshest or coziest of hotels...

The location is perfect, all sights were near on the hotel. You have to walk like ten minutes for the most sights. The rooms are good, some looking bit older than my room. Since my room was new, I was lucky. Breakfast was nice, too. All in all I can say that Hotel Sandstern is a good choice!

The central location is by far the best feature is this Ibis Bamberg Altstadt - you are just five minutes waking from Altes Rathaus, in the heart of the old town. The installations are very clean and functional. The bathroom is extremely small and they charge for the subterranean parking, which is something I didn’t see in the website. The only modern/budget hotel in the old town. Ask for rooms facing the street side (better view) and ending in 15 or 19 (larger). Not the best Ibis shower that I know (they're generally excellent), the shower floor levels with the bathroom (don't wash too enthusiastically), and there's a GREY shower curtain that doesn't let light it (now that's a first-timer!).

An outdated hotel. Clean and with comfortable beds. The breakfast was fine. The staff was friendly. Free covered parking is available under the hotel. Dinner is not available. However, you can dine in the surrounding area (although many places in Germany are closed on Mondays).

The room was good, and the breakfast was very good. Unfortunately, some of the information about this hotel was incorrect. For example, the reception was unmanned late on a Sunday afternoon, and the Wi-Fi in the room didn't work. The elevator also only works during the day on weekdays.

Good location not far to walk into the old town for your Smoked Beer. We stayed over the weekend its very busy and our room overlooked the front where there is a Brau haus so was a bit noisy, not the hotels fault. Our room was the first along the corridor and the door was left to bang itself close as other guests arrived back. Yes would use again but ask for a room the other side of the building

The staff/owners were wonderful. My two negative issues were the parking fees in the parking garage. Parked Friday afternoon left early Sunday morning and it cost $40 euros. The loud people coming out of the bars between 10 pm and 3:30 am kept us up and difficult to sleep. Loud, drunk people sitting around the hotel. Could not sleep. Plus side, clean and comfortable. Enjoyed every bit of our stay. The hotel had a great location on the river and close to everything Old Town. Breakfast was one on the best we experienced while traveling throughout Europe and the owners were very responsive and helpful. Felt more like a B&B than a hotel…good thing!

Right on the river and a short walk to old town. We were visiting during the football games being held in Germany and there were a lot of people up very late and making a lot of noise if their team won. But this was out of the hotels control.

Probably the nicest small hotel we have stayed at. Only a few minutes walk to the Cathedral and close to the bustle of the old town, but tucked away in a quiet corner. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, and the free breakfast was delicious, and kept us going almost all day. The room we had not attached to the main hotel but was well appointed and cosy.

Comfortable hotel with good breakfast. But... Very noisy at night with traffic and folks walking home noisily up to 3am. Great location otherwise for seeing the sights, restaurants and beer kellars.

We stayed here one night. I really appreciated the Thai cuisine, was lovely! Four stars because I think, price-quality wise was a bit out of balance due to the shared bathroom situation.

We have stayed here 6 times (I think). Klaus and Kate are wonderful hosts. The small hotel was rather time-worn when we stayed there first (1990), but most rooms are renovated now and include baths. Management has made a nice Covid compromise. You order and pay for your meal at the drink counter and your meals are brought to your table. Advance reservations are necessary.

The hotel is very clean. The beds are good. The food is very good, the breakfast buffet has enough to choose from. Only downside: you have to walk across the parking lot to get to the the restaurant. But that's what umbrellas are for.

Good value for the price. The room we were in could use a coat of paint and a new carpet and the toilet could have been a wee bit cleaner. Make sure you read your booking instructions! Otherwise, you’ll be stranded outside without a code for the front door.

I had a nice stay with my family here. The rooms were basic but comfortable and the location was very accessible. Parking was easy and safe. The room came with a single soap for hands/body/hair, but its Ibis so I wasn’t expecting very much anyway. Glasses for brushing teeth were available near the reception if you need them. Overall, it’s good enough for a short stay.

It is an IBIS and that is what you are getting. I thought value for money was too high but there was really a lack of alternatives. It gets the job done. Room was good, breakfast acceptable and even the car park was good.

It was shocking that the duvet covers were dirty. I've sometimes had minor problems in the hotels I've stayed in, but this is the first time I've encountered a situation where the sheets were dirty. Overall a good hotel to stay at. Good price, killer AC (especially needed when it was 36+ outside), very quiet, and nice rooms. Very pleasant stay at the B&B Hotel Bamberg – everything was just right! Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds, and great value for money. The hotel is wonderful, with friendly staff and more than enough to get by. There is a supermarket about 1km away and a few restaurants close by. The old town is a bit far away with about 2.2km walk until you reach it. When you get to the old town there are wonderful restaurants and shops all along the roads. Really enjoyed the town!

Very good value for money! My family and I enjoyed both the comfortable room and high quality breakfast. The only downside is that the hotel is a bit far away from the city center but we found a free parking place at the Boathouse and walked from there to the center. Do recommend to stay in Bamberg!
