Hotel Kölner Hof Refrath

I stayed at this property with some colleagues during the Cologne trade fair. We booked an overnight stay and had to pay for breakfast; €10 per day, which for two breakfasts comes to €20. When it was time to leave, I went to reception and handed over the €20 in cash, only to discover, at the airport, that a colleague of mine had advanced the money for everyone the day before. I sent an email to the property, attaching the receipt for my colleague's payment and requesting a bank transfer of the €20 paid twice, but obviously I received nothing. Great job! Congratulations!

Our stay was a disaster. Problems with access due to key code. 2 rooms in separate buildings although travelling as family. Eventually got through to someone on the phone.Grandparents one with mobility issues - grandson had to help dress him. Other one 5 years old. Room very tired with broken chair. Towels like cardboard child dried herself on bed sheet. Breakfast not until 7 which was too late and no alternative offered.
No staff available to talk to. Hotel also very noisy.
Have tried several times to contact this hotel but not responding to my emails.

Absolutely shocking booked 2 rooms in January for family. Given one room in annex one in main building. Youngest 5 husband elderly. No one to resolve. Room very tired. Towels like cardboard. Hell trying to get in. No breakfast left at 6.30 to early

Booked in January thinking we would have 2 rooms next to each other. Traveling with 2 children. NO one in different annexes completely blocked off. No staff around they don't work after 2. 5 year old would not use towels they were like cardboard. Stayed here before but never again. Disaster. Have tried to contact hotel with no luck

I booked this hotel for myself and my family to stay for 1 night to break up our journey from Prague back to the uk. I reserved a double room for 2 adults and 1 child. We didn’t arrive till late, 21.30 to be exact and we were all very tired from a long journey. When we arrived, no staff, left with a code to enter property. When we entered the room there were two single beds. We rang the number available and spoke to the owner and he told me that was the only room left and no other rooms available as fully booked, his attitude was terrible. So me and my partner had to ring round other hotels to try and get a room at half nine in the evening on a Saturday evening. We rang 4 hotels and they were fully booked. Absolutely shocking service, very dated hotel and terrible surroundings. This man does not deserve business with this terrible attitude and leaving a family stranded with no bed for the night. PLEASE AVOID
