Familie hotel. Pool is not very clean but big. There is a safe guard present. It is a big hotel and to liitle staff. If you want to an order a drink you have to wait 30 min. because there are to may guest and not enough waiters. Perhaps nice for family with kids but not for business

Very well-kept hotel with very friendly service and a good range of wellness options. I also really enjoyed the food...so it was definitely worth it. The furnishings and rooms are a bit old-fashioned, but in a very pleasant way. I really enjoyed my stay here.

Too many options for kids. Food quality good. Vegan and veggie options available for breakfast and dinner but not for lunch. No mini bar in room which was not good as we had two kids and could not store the milk in fridge, rooms are not of great quality, no ac available. no prams available for babies which was really bad for us as we had a 3 months old.

Last weekend we had a small family celebration with an overnight stay. It was a nice evening with delicious food and drinks. We felt well taken care of. The hotel is in a beautiful location on the edge of the forest. Good to start hiking. The food from the show kitchen is superb. Extremely tasty and very creatively prepared. You sauna is too small if the hotel is well attended. The soul of the house is THE boss, who is always available to help.

After a few years, again posted. We were very surprised at the much has changed ( new Windows, swimming pool). Only one thing has not changed fortunately, the friendliness of the staff remained. Food great as always. Quality is excellent. Since you can only say: We will come back.

My single room was big enough and well furnished. The breakfast was up to standard. The cassette is big, but I couldn't test the kitchen, I had already eaten. The service was quick and friendly and the beer was tasty.

Top hotel with lots of attention to detail and I can only recommend it. From the outside the hotel looks relatively normal, but then... then comes a big "wow". Nothing pretentious about this hotel. It gave a very good overnight stop with an excellent evening meal. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bedroom and corridors were rather dated. I would guess it was built in the 1970s but there was absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel. Quite close to the railway station and tram stop. I would certainly stay here again.

we stayed in the "Landhaus" part of the hotel and loved every minute of our stay here and regret a little bit that we did not stay longer. The hotel and the room was lovely decorated, it was warm, very cosy. We slept really really well. It was quiet despite the street close by. We anjoyed a lovely dinner and a wonderful breakfast. Food, as well as hospitality just great

We made a wonderful autumn hike in the Ehrental near Schmalkalden. My students give 999 stars in preparation and hospitality. Warm, nice, child-friendly ... awesome all the staff. We would love to come back. The deer were an additional highlight.

First of all, the restaurant is now closed and according to the boss, the hotel will also be closing soon. The reception was friendly, you can drive up to the barrier-free and covered entrance to unload. The atmosphere is rustic, like the 80s, rooms are OK, but it's very tight around the bed. You can't take off your shoes because there's only one shoe's length of space next to the bed The mattresses...

On the occasion of a family celebration, the five of us were able to experience two wonderful days there. Large rooms with great beds, quiet in the hallway, wonderful breakfast buffet. All in all, the family atmosphere of the Jägerklause contributed to the relaxation. We absolutely have to appreciate the friendliness of these amiable Thuringians. Thank you for everything.

Nice little hotel. So far everything is okay, unfortunately no lounges. No possibility to sit down anywhere as a group, not even outside of meals, in the dining room. Food was ok.

Jaegerklause is still my favorite place to go when in this area. Rooms are clean. The area is nice and quiet and the food is excellent. Even in these harsh, disease stricken times, the stay was great.
