First time in black forest Great location, short walk to train station and a lot of trails for hiking. Hotel staff was amazing ( special thank you to Michael, Ivanna,and Vannaren Yani). Room is spacious and clean,and the breakfast is ready good too.Totally recommended.

Nicely located, good breakfast area, and bar with outside seating. Some staff went out of their way to help, which was much appreciated as I don’t speak much German. On the downside the evening meal was expensive with a limited menu

The hotel has a great location, a nice pool, and a good variety of breakfast options. However, our experience was negatively impacted by the condition of the bed prepared for my young child — it had a strong odor of urine. We had to request a replacement cot, which wasn’t brought up until 9:30 PM. Additionally, housekeeping did not service our room on the first day, and the soiled mattress and bedding...

Check out complicated The superior room was spacious, featured a balcony, and was nicely decorated. Breakfast was adequate. The check-in process was pleasant and welcoming. However, check-out was quite complicated, as the receptionist attempted to charge me for the night, even though it had already been paid for at the time of booking.

Gengenbach is a lovely small town only eight minutes on the train from Offenburg. Reichsstadt Hotel and Restaurant is in the middle of town and only a short walk from the station. We booked a three night half board package and really enjoyed our stay. We were allocated a large apartment above their Cocotte restaurant which was very comfortable. Great location in the centre of Gengenbach. Nice to find a pool and spa facilities in town hotel. The apartment was small but well-equipped. One drawback was the lack of air conditioning which meant opening the windows onto a noisy bar. We did not receive our welcome drinks. The breakfast was very tasty and the garden setting with views of the town was idyllic.

We made a last minute decision to spend a couple of days in the Black Forrest area. The village is beautiful though not extremely lively. Spent five nights here in Sept during a road trip from Scotland to Germany (Mosel valley, Black Forest, Rhine valley). Great Spot This was a great spot to stay in Gengenbach. Just outside the city wall and walkable to everything. Love it. Staff were very accommodating and friendly.

Nice facility, lovely and help full host and breakfast staff. I would have given this an overall rating of 5, but suite 22 is right above reception and was noisy with checkin and checkout times. Regardless I would recommend this place to friends and family.

Waren abends zum Essen, haben im Nebenraum gesessen, da im Gastraum eine größere Gesellschaft mit Buffett gefeiert hat. Wir wurden dennoch sehr zuvorkommend bedient und haben 3 unterschiedliche Gerichte genossen. Alles wurde nahezu gleichzeitig serviert. Die Gerichte waren hervorragend. Absolut zu empfehlen.

During a multi-day bike tour through the Kinzig Valley from Alpirsbach to Offenburg, I spent one night at the Hotel Sonne in Zell am Harmersbach. Very friendly and helpful reception. Large, well-furnished room with a large balcony. The dinner on the terrace was excellent. The staff competent and friendly. I can highly recommend the sun.

Ok Seems like a nice hotel with good spa facilities. We had a non smoking room, but it stank of cigarettes and the bathroom smelt unclean. The hotel staff didn’t speak any English (I no we were in Germany but basic pleasantries would have been nice) so don’t expect any help. Didn’t complain about the smell in the room as unable to make ourselves understood.

Went here with my group a while ago. Top accommodation for good money. As soon as we have a construction site in the area again, we'll be back. You can also shop late in the evening in the farm's own shop...sausage, bread, schnapps and much more from the farm.

Very beautiful place to be. Great value for the money. The homemade breakfast it's really good. The owners are very nice persons, tho only the daughter understand good English. The only downside for us was the fact that we had to buy our own barbeque tools only for a day, as they are not providing them. However, we enjoyed it very much. May actually go back again sometime.

Staying in a former prison – what a brilliant concept, and beautifully brought to life. The hotel is just a short walk from the city center and ideally located for a day trip to Strasbourg. This is a fun hotel that was a former prison. While you can see traces of the past, it's now a top quality hotel with a top restaurant. It's not the cheapest place to stay and eat, but it's a fun experience.

Fabulous design hotel with great bar, restaurant and terrace. The rooms are dark and dramatic with all modern amenities, the air conditioning could be fiercer but outside was 32 degrees so not too bad. Great shower pressure. Landhotel zum Pflug is a traditional hotel with a modern interior which is ideally situated for exploring the nearby Black Forest and the surrounding area. The rooms are comfortable with modern bathrooms. The food in the restaurant is very tasty and the service is very friendly and, at the same time, very professional. There is free private parking outside the hotel.

We turned up at 5:00pm on a motorcycle and booked a room unannounced. Lovely room, lovely family hotel, great evening meal and breakfast. Highly recommend. The rooms are new and very clean with lovely fixtures and fittings. Lift, minibar in the hall, kettle and coffee in the hall.

I rarely give a 5 to anyone. What you see presented in their website is EXACTLY what you get. Typical Alt-Deutsche design but modernized with great taste. Cuisine is wonderfully presented with friendly service. Very comfortable. You get what you pay for here. Very good value for your €uro. I've been here many times and they consistently render the highest service, quality and cleanliness.

Hotel Sonne is spectacularly located, has spacious and luxurious rooms, recently tastefully refurbished. Warm hospitality and superb breakfast included.

Convenient location for a day trip to Europapark or Strasbourg, but Offenburg itself is a cute little black forest town as well with plenty of shopping, dining and other facilities. Rosi is incredibly sweet and helpful. She has been hosting guests at “Haus Rose” for almost 60 years. Her husband Alfred is a well known carpenter and beekeeper in the region. Perfect accommodation beyond expectations

Good accommodation in an old building, so the walls are high, but the furnishings are modern. The beds were great, electric shutters, lots of space. Unfortunately there is no large mirror and the light in the bathroom is a bit dark. The elevator has a museum feel

It’s a perfectly located hotel with supermarkets, food joint in close proximity. Hotel rooms are super clean and comfortable! You have to park in the parkhaus and stamp your parking ticket at the hotel desk to get a discount on overnight stays.

Everything was nice and comfortable. The parking is just next door at Parkhaus Zentrum West and the hotel guests get a discount.

The beds where very hard and narrow. The mattresses where very old .... We have been in B&B hotels of Bonn West and Dortmund Airport and they had comfortable beds, but this hotels beds where very uncomfortable (((( Overall hotel was clean and good,but the beds should be improved...

We fell in love with this place. Its nestled amongst the vineyards in one of the most beautiful places in Germany. Great place to hike amongst the vineyards. The breakfast was amazing! Nice location: only 25 minutes by foot from the main train station. The room was clean, having own bathroom. No noise during the night. Good breakfast in the morning - I would advice to take one. We were on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in search of a good bourgeois food. I'm looking for the Flädelesuppe and a salad with strips of Turkey decided. The soup was power with a good beef found. Set in a stunning location in hills covered by vineyards. Room could have felt a bit more cozy but it is a chain hotel. Wellness area has sauna, steam room and pool. It's pretty good but lacked a member of staff to welcome you and explain things. Evening meal was good, breakfast buffet was also good. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean. We had an excellent view of the vineyards and castle too. The restaurant was excellent too - with friendly service and a wide choice of food.

We spontaneously decided to spend a wellness weekend here. The hotel itself has been beautifully renovated in a modern style. Personally, we think the pool area is too small, the rooms are a good size and very clean, the bathrooms are great, but the pillows are far too thin and don't support you at all.
