Hotel Liberty Offenburg

This is a late review. We stayed in this stunning hotel in December 2023 and enjoyed the added bonus of the Christmas market in town. The hotel itself is exceptional. The concept is so unique. Our room felt luxurious and spacious, but it was cold. Reception said that it takes a while for the heating to warm up, but the next day, the temperature was the same. The set menu was really delicious and well presented. The only letdown was the lack of serving staff. Hence, we had to keep asking for things. However, this could have been because of the pre Christmas dinner rush. The restaurant was really busy, which was nice to see. We had a lovely stay with the exception of checkout, where the receptionist basically accused me of not paying for my dog. When I told her that the payment for my dog should have been on my bill because my dog was in my booking, she said he wasn't, and I needed to pay separately. This was not an issue because I stood at reception with my dog, and obviously, everyone in the queue could see him. It was just quite embarrassing. All in all, I would recommend this hotel for a unique experience.

Renovated former prison. Loved it. Modern interior but historic. Very unique. Highly recommend

We stayed three nights in the rooftop suite. Absolutely beautiful decor with attention to details and immaculately maintained. The mix of history with a modern touch makes for a truly unique hotel.
Parking for our electric vehicle made charging easy for a flat $20 per charge.
Dinner at the onsite restaurant was delicious!

Needed a stop around this area and chose Offenburg and hotel Liberty. Didn't have any expectations but my god was it a nice place! The rooms are old prison cells renovated with very exclusive standard. Lots of charm and excellent service. Staff was amazing!
We had to leave early and asked to get our breakfast take away which was not something they usually offered. They made it amazingly! Will definitely stay here again when traveling in this part of Germany!

I did not stay here but I dined at the restaurant for dinner. Service was excellent, food was very good. Décor was well maintained. This place was an actual prison up until 2009 and was sold to at investor group who turned this place to a hotel/ Restaurant. We asked for a room tour and the hostess gladly gave us a tour. A normal room would be three cells. I would definitely return here to experience the hotel stay.

Hotel review:
Hotel Liberty Offenburg is a modern and stylish place to stay. It sits in an old prison which has been converted with elements of its past kept. The prison theme has been adopted by the hotel as well. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a soft bed. Bathroom was large with a beautiful bath tub and separate cubicle for the toilet and shower. Guests are also offered access to the local pool/sauna complex.

The breakfast on offer was fantastic. You select your options the night before which we went for the meat and cheese plate with an omelettes. There was a side table also filled with breads jams and juice.

Restaurant review:
As part of our stay at Hotel Liberty Offenburg, we tried their restaurant for dinner. The overall atmosphere was very relaxed with lovely music. The scallops were a fantastic way to start the meal as it was cooked perfectly and paired well with the sauce and mini flat bread looking pocket. For the mains were had a lovely lamb dish with Black Forest ham and tried the local fish dish - both very tasty. The staff were very attentive and helped us a lot especially with wine recommendations. Definitely try the local Riesling from Offenburg!

Staff was very friendly. Hotel bar and breakfast were delicious. The decor was great and within walking distance to everything. The room theme was very cool in that they were converted from old prison cells with brick ceilings.
