Where to stay in Gossweinstein

You can tell that the hotel has been vacant for 16 years. But they are trying to renovate bit by bit. The innkeeper is definitely the friendliest thing I've seen in a long time. The wishes were implemented before they were expressed. After the rich breakfast you were prepared for the day. We'll be back and won't miss a TV even then

How nice, hurry up as long as it is still an "insider tip". With the friendly innkeeper, the breakfast and the lived history of the house, an inn again for a long time, which one will remember positively. See you soon , I will be happy to come back.

Great value for money, perfect for groups The nice owner is very courteous and helpful. We had a sumptuous breakfast every day and were allowed to use the breakfast room as a group room in the evening. The rooms are currently still being renovated, but are clean and equipped with everything necessary. We would definitely come again.

Nice old hotel that was empty for 16 years and has now reopened. Accordingly, the condition is, the new owner is very nice and is very responsive to the wishes of the guests. Nevertheless, a smell of its own can be heard in the hotel and the carpet has come down. Presumably this is due to the closure in recent years. We stayed at the Hotel Rose for one night. The hotel is very nice and centrally located in Gössweinstein. It's a very old house, which we like very much. The rooms are partially renovated. We had a nice little room with a shower and toilet. The reception by the owner was very warm, so that we immediately felt welcome. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The room was spacious and clean. It felt typically German which was great for us tourists. The breakfast buffet was amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful! They went above and beyond to let us charge our EV overnight.

Commenting on the Hotel restaurant, they serve authentic German and Bavarian food even outside of the usual tourist season. I really loved their Schäufle and their Bavarian sausages. You can order local Frankonian beer here as well if you're searching for that. Definitely a nice place to fill your stomach after hiking in the area.

The room was cute, cozy, and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were pleasant and even let me check in a day early! Food was good and they have easily accessible parking right behind the building. I would stay here again. Good location too.

Cheap and roomy - luckily our group got our own building which made it easier for bathroom sharing, but I could see how it would be weird with multiple groups sharing one apartment.

Very friendly staff, beautiful interior, tasty breakfast, easy to park. It's at the very center of the village. Moreover, Gossweinstein is beautiful to visit. I stayed longer than expected, because our car had a mechanical failure. The staff were super kind and helpful, helping us booking at time at the garage.

We did not stay here, just drank and ate on their centrally based terrace in this beautiful town. We were served the best cold beer in chilled traditional mugs, and their soup; mushroom and the liver-noodle were delicious, plus a slice of onion pie. Superb. For a little hunger in between, we stopped here for a short break. Everything is very clean, tidy and nicely decorated. Our order was taken quickly and we didn't have to wait long for our food. Our pumpkin soup was delicious. The staff very polite. There was nothing to complain about. Parking spaces are available in front of the restaurant for non-hikers.

The first impression was very good. The reception was very friendly and the whole team was extremely accommodating and friendly. The rooms were also very nice and clean. The breakfast buffet was completely sufficient and very tasty. The evening menu was always fresh and also very tasty. Even if we had to change something, it was no problem.

Friendly people, cozy rooms, excellent food and an outstanding location - all one can wish for. The location is the perfect trail head for a nice short, medium or really long walk; and afterwards a well-executed massage will prepare you for dinner, which was fantastic as well.

We spent a long weekend at the Stempferhof with 3 families and 3 grandchildren. We all really enjoyed it, everything was perfect, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very large, we had a superior double room. The breakfast was varied and the dinner was very good. We will definitely come back. The beautiful terrace is currently being finished.

The Stempferhof is quietly located on the outskirts of Gößweinstein. The town center is easy to reach on foot. The staff is friendly and competent. At the same time, the Stempferhof is suffering from a shortage of staff, which is currently plaguing the entire restaurant and hotel industry. Everything… the staff went above and beyong, nothing was a problem. They booked taxis for me, goven I don’t speak German. The breakfast was good and meals in the restaurant very nice.

We've been there for dinner and had a shady place in the Biergarten. It's quite noisy there, since it is directly at the main road and motor cycle hordes are showing off there (very annoying, but not the owner's fault, still it was a huge downside), but comfy without the noise pollution. Went there on a Sunday for lunch. Location is close to many sight seeing sites in the area. The food was very tasty, service was swift and friendly. It's recommended to call ahead and reserve as there was quiet a volume of people when we went there. Overall would come back when in the area

We stayed in the apartment for a week in early September. We found them to be very nice and clean. Everything is available what you need. The stove was fired when we arrived as it was a bit cold on the day of arrival. Mr. Z. is super nice! We were provided with a travel cot for our baby.

I stayed there for 4nights. The food in the cafeteria is okay, but nothing more. There's no WiFi in the rooms. The showers could be more hygienic.

Nice place for a short and cheap stay. Breakfast was resonable. The beds were a bit short, could be a problem for big people.

Due to a lack of staff, which is desperately needed here, only the rooms are currently available for rent and you look after yourself. This suited us... If you're just looking for somewhere to stay overnight, you're in good hands here. Pottenstein has a lot to offer in summer, but many places are closed in winter.

Very very good restaurant to have such delicious food and ofcourse you portions of the Hammer. Absolutely to recommend here is made a head for the meal absolute recommendation.

The Gutshof was a real discovery for us. Lovingly restored, you can eat excellently there in a wonderful ambience. The service was very friendly and attentive. A toy box was provided for our 2-year-old son who has a lot of movement. We are very excited and would love to come back.

Great location to stay if you are going to Erlangen or Nuremberg. The hotel is next to the train station and is quiet, new and comfortable.

I just arrived for a 3 day stay. Due to sad circumstances I completely forgot that check-in is available from 15:00. Good service when we checked in. The hotel and room were clean and very nice. Comfortable bed and good sized bathroom. Only thing we had to go and ask for a second towel (which was no problem!), but other than that a fantastic stay!

Plaza felt like it was recently renovated. Everything inside was new and nice. The bed was comfortable and the staff were friendly. Every morning they had a great breakfast with awesome bread, cheese, and meat.

The food is really well done. The rooms are fine for a youth hostel and they help with questions and the family that runs the hostel is very nice.

No longer the newest furniture and the bathrooms are also minimalist, but the location is incredibly beautiful. In the morning fog and you are surrounded by nature. In addition to the possibilities outside, there are several group rooms on different levels with a terrace and garden. The food is absolutely fine. Breakfast and lunch have a good selection and lunch is absolutely fine too

We would have a nice stay with our children! The rooms were a good size and the beds, while not quite, were still comfortable (at least for young people). The food was good too. Nice quiet secluded location, with a few recreational opportunities. Definitely to recommend. WiFi is available!

OK place, with friendly staff and good facilities. It is a bit basic. Rooms are a bit small and do not come with a fridge or tea & coffee facilities. They do not bring your luggage to your room. Breakfast is OK. As is the focus on the Festspiele. Location is OK, not in but close to the city centre.

This was an excellent stay at the Rheingold in Bayreuth. The hotel room was very clean and so was the bedding. The bathroom was clean and the towels were very clean as well. The restaurant served scrumptious meals. Their breakfast services was exceptionally good. The wifi was high speed and the staff, even though l spoke no German, was very kind and courteous. Hands down one of the best breakfast places I have been to in the whole of Germany! Large outdoors and indoors seating area, very atmospheric, delicious concoctions like the croissant breakfast burger, and I had the egg and avocado eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs done to perfection.

Pastries for breakfast were nice but the coffee - sorry, not good. But there is a nice coffee shop nearby, I wish hotel was using their beans :) Room are nice, modern and big ! We had a dog with us and there was even a nice bowl for him already placed in the room.

Great value for money. The hotel is new and modern. They even have a little breakfast buffet with baked goods, fruit, coffee and tee. The check-in is automated so even though we arrived later we got into the hotel by opening the doors with our phones. Gym is tiny, but perfectly enough.

Pretty comfortable rooms and great service though the rooms seem to be a bit old on the first view. But all in all a great hotel and a great price! The buffet at the included restaurant was also delicious!

The rooms are spartan but still comfortable. The staff us friendly and the breakfast is good. It can get quite loud sometimes because the hotel is situated at a traffic crossing and on one side there is a bar which closes late. Overall very good.

This youth hostel is more expensive than others, but it also offers a lot more. There is a lot of areas where you can spend time as a group, and at breakfast there are uncommon options like dried banana and - at select days, possibly on weekends? - smoothies. The thing we disliked most is having only one key card per room. If you don't mind this, I can fully recommend this hostel.

The architecture of the hostel was very nice and modern. Also, it had enough room for other activities like sports etc. I’ve also liked the outdoor balconies. Unfortunately, they didn’t have vegan options for food, only vegetarian. Hopefully, this can be improved.

This house provides an outstanding experience for families. A modern and most inviting architecture aligns itself nicely to a most professional service by a uniquely friendly staff. The house is clean, the common areas, and rooms are welcoming and warm. There is a sport field in the backyard, and you may enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner on the terrasse.

Hostel, mostly for children (lots of children approx.12 yrs). Nice and a little bit futuristic indoors - lots of wood and colour. Hostel rules: eating in rooms is prohibited (but comfy eating room you can use any time), no everyday change of bed lining and towel, only one towel provided, no free soap in the bathroom, no hairdryer. I had a few hours of events in there. The drinks where always filled up again and the snacks in the breaks where delightful.

Fine hotel. Services are very good, restaurant is excellent. I was with a group of 7 people, some of them complaint about the beds (too small and too soft).

Good experience at Arvena Kongress. 10 mins walking from city center, staff was very polite and helpful, room big enough. Just the wifi was a bit annoying, not working properly at times and having to type in keywords everytime you come back to your room. Shower with tents instead of box can be improved too.

Great place for the festival. Breakfast until 1 pm and transport to Festspielhaus. No idea what it's like outside of the season.

Nice hotel, with an antique atmosphere. Big bedroom with a big bathroom. Great location. The penthouse suite is amazing, also for a group workshop. The negative points: -Very bad WiFi and LTE coverage in my room (52). It is absurd to have such a bad coverage in a "first world" country. Checked in an hour early, the front desk reception was warm! The location is very central and convenient to everywhere! Parking 🅿️ is in the nearby P7 parking lot, very close!

This is a nice quaint hotel. the rooms are small and a little too cozy but the charm aort of makea up for it. The wifi ia awful. Don't exect to be able to use it. Location is nice right near old city. The best thing about thia place though is the restaurant. The food is AMAZING!

Comfortable family run hotel. Reception staff could not have been more helpful and we were made to feel most welcome for our short stay. Standards of cleanliness and Covid safety measures could not be faulted. No elevator but not a problem for us because we were given a room on the 1st floor and reception staff insisted on carrying our cases up.

I fall in love to this hotel. Here you can find the most friendly staff, kitchen workers, old story and feel yourselves in home atmosphere. Staircases one of the most precious in this hotel, all noises from it returns you to old fantastic times.

For the second year At The Wagner Fest I stayed at the Hotel Goldener Hirsch just across the street from the Hauptbahnhof . To me it is the heart of Bayreuth. All the Guests know Wagner, as that is why we are all there. It just feels like home to me. Breakfasts are great and Tina runs the main restaurant where I eat everyday and return to after the Opera on Green Hill. I will return there again...

Nice, friendly staff making efforts so customers are happy. Mattresses are ok.Breakfast is enjoyably good. Lighting in rooms is very dim.
