Where to stay in Sankt Goar

The hotel is beautiful with a spectacular view of the Rhine River and Sankt Goar/Sankt Goarshausen. We stayed in the Villa with a river view room. The room/bathroom felt dated, but the room was spacious and the bed comfortable. We could hear people in the room above us, especially in the bathroom. But the view and location were so lovely. The customer service at the hotel and restaurant were excellent...

With only 1 night we didnt get to enjoy all the amenities but highly recommend this hotel for a luxury stay on the Rhine with a beautiful view. Staff were kind and spoke English making our stay very comfortable. Bed was comfortable and the view is worth the stay alone! Dinner in the restaurant was fine dining so portions were small but delicious. Extensive wine list too!

It is a beautiful castle at the top of a hill just on the way out of town. Amazing venue and great service. It isn’t near the main square or centrum but there is a shuttle bus. We loved the lounge and the views. Rooms were very good. Simple and clean and efficient

Hotel Schloss Rheinfels offers incomparable views of the Rhine Valley! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the hotel made our stay as pleasant as possible. We especially want to thank the hotel staff for carrying our bags to and from the room and navigating the many stairs!

We stayed here one night. We actually didn't stay in the castle itself, but the villa right beside the castle, which I hadn't expected from booking on their website. Most of the castle fortress is in ruins, which you can pay a small entrance fee to explore. Very cool museum and history. No views from the room we had, but plenty of beautiful views outside! The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable...

The view especially from the main restaurant over the Rhine is spectacular! The service especially in the 2nd smaller restaurant that we chose for a a bit pricey dinner during our one-night stay was good! Overall it's a really nice traditional hotel that you can but don't have to visit!

Sebastian was an incredible host from the moment we arrived. His hotel is fantastic and we would recommend it to anyone. He suggested excellent restaurants in the area and also activities. Rooms were great, breakfast was great, and the staff was great. We would love to return to this hotel again!

Very nice host who was super motivated to get me something vegan to eat and even tried to consider my fructose intolerance. That was pretty surprising. He was very chatty and helpful in general. Only spent 2 days there, but if I would go to sankt Goar again, I'd be for sure try to go there again!

Schnitzel and Pike fish - recommended! Also three ways to cook potatoes. Stay away from red wine, however.

Very nice small hotel and restaurant. Third generation family business led by Sebastion who is the head chef. He is very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our food and stay very much. Sebastion loaned us his bicycles and advice for a wonderful tour.

We had dinner in the restaurant. The food had a very good taste. Quality and quantity were good as well. The waiter was also nice and friendly. Finally, on our 3rd evening in the area, we could pay by card (Maestro).

Nice hotel places closely to hiking trails towards the Lorelei. Alternatively it's a close location for taking the ferry to the Lorelei. Very friendly staff, nice clean rooms and the breakfast is super good! Good for families with kids too

Good Hotel directly on the Rhine Service and food are great, All staff courteous, attentive and helpful. The chef knows his craft. The room up on a few little things tidy and clean.

Service is very good. Rooms a bit small but ok. Unfortunately, there is no real winegrower's house, it was only in earlier times. Therefore, no own wines

Nice little town on Rhine River with a lot of history. Off season is very slow, not much open but this hotel still charges full top dollar prices for tiny rooms. The prices in the restaurant are also high. You can stay and dine at nicer places cheaper.

This Hotel has the best food anywhere on the Rhein river. Service is great and friendly at a decent price. As with any hotel along the river dealing with railroad, street and river commerce traffic has it's drawbacks but if your exhausted from traveling all day noise won't matter. No Vegas style hotel here, this is a typical old fashion European hotel. Great for a short one or two night stay centrally...

Exceptionally warm welcome. Good size room, spotlessly clean and well appointed. A relief after an 11 hour drive 😊 Offered dinner in the Bier Garden and sorted out a parking space. Food and service was outstanding. Picked at random for a one night stop over but will be back, thank you for such a pleasant stay.

The restaurant has great food. It overlooks the Rhein and there is a castle across the river. There are also toys to entertain the kids.

Excellent meal, excellent wine tasting. I don't like wine, but they offered quite a variety of Riesling wines that were quite good. Got to taste a variety of vintages, highlighting the difference a year can make in the taste of their wine. They also have a very open layout, lots of windows. While we were there we got to see a double rainbow over the castle on the hillside above the river, very cool

A little pricey for lunch but I was shocked how good the food was. We stumbled upon this place taking a break from cycling. Food was memorable and delicious. View of the town across the Rhine was fantastic. Service was very German but friendly enough. English happily spoken!

A very nice country Inn in the heart of St. Goar. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The Breakfast was rich. The Restaurant offers a good selection of dishes, prepared with much love. The price-performance ratio fits. The owners of the hotel are so friendly, you feel right at home. A place of well-being, you can only recommend.

We were already twice with the entire Flasdieck Crew from Oberhausen ( 15 Pers. ) in the vine at Uli and Peter. The house has atmosphere and is run with a lot of heart blood and dedication. Good food and the Shuttle Service are in best memory. So also old Flasdiecker had no trouble with you everywhere you come and enjoy the beautiful Rhine valley velvet castles - not to forget: coffee, cake, wine,...

Family-run country Inn with individual advice on wine and Hiking. Loreley - Permanent IVV trail is located directly on the "myth“. Very good food and dedicated staff, also in the vine-Garden directly on the river Rhine.

Lovely hotel facing the Rhein with very friendly and helpful owner. The hotel is right on the Rhein by the ferry with nice views. A nice hotel by the riverfront. The breakfast and room were nice. However, they didn't take credit card during checkout. They only take credit card for deposit but they only take cash for checkout.

Extremely friendly staff, the best Breakfast on our 12tägigen bike ride, a Breakfast room with panoramic views of the Rhine, Radstellplatz, very neat appearance, beautifully furnished, directly on the river Rhine, a stone's throw from the old town and the ferry. We were on a long weekend in St. Goar and has approached us in the Hotel on the Internet. All in all, it was good. The rooms were reasonably furnished in a modern style, the bathrooms, the age of the building is set up accordingly. An old Cabinet with mirror, old dowel holes, and dust the top of the cabinets, however, shows that not everything is top. The situation is, even if it is in St. Goar due...

Wir haben hier zu Abend gegessen. Habe den Pfälzer Saumagen mit Sauerkraut und Bratkartoffeln genommen. Sehr lecker, vorallem das Sauerkraut war sehr gut. Allerdings waren gerade die Portionen der Beilagen sehr gering ausgefallen.

Essen war sehr Lecker, nur waren die Portionen klein und man wurde nicht satt. Bedienung war sehr nett.

The food is Great after coming down the Rhine River from Mainz. Alot of shops to get gifts for friends and family. The RHINE WINES are available in most hotels and all restaurants . It's a great turn around spot to head back up the Rhine River

Überaus freundliche Bedienung das Essen war einfach angerichtet aber von hoher Qualität und frisch zubereitet. Ein dazu sehr preiswertes Vergnügen.

The rooms are very tasteful and beautiful. Also clean. It was stupid that the shower mixer in the bathroom didn't work. Sometimes ice cold water came suddenly. The breakfast was really good. Great fruit and everything else was delicious too. From there you can hike well!

Very nice hosts. Restaurant furniture is a bit old, but has its charm. Breakfast was delicious. Everything you need. If something is missing, just ask the innkeepers, they make everything possible. Bicycles can be parked in the basement.

Had the incredible opportunity to stay two nights in this lovely quaint hotel with its porticos, large dining hall and easy access to train station, restaurants, on the river. Very comfortable. Loved the bathroom. Owner went out of his way to welcome us.

Wonderful location, very clean rooms, fantastic breakfast. My wife and I stayed here one night for a quick get away. The owner was very friendly and made us a delicious breakfast. We were the only people staying at the time as it was the winter season and most places were closed. Would highy recommend staying at this lovely, well situated hotel.

We had dinner in the restaurant. The food was very tasty and nice; we ate everything. The waiter was also very nice with a sense of humour (from Marosvásárhely/Románia) and he recognised our speech when we were talking in Hungarian. The only reason I took 1 star; we could not pay with card, only with cash. In 2021 using cash in a hotel restaurant is not an option...

The Hotel is a charming hotel. The ladies who attend are highly professional and make you feel at home. The location is unbeatable. The breakfast and dinner fantastic.
