Wonderful little place. The room was fine for the three of us, plus our little dog. Warm welcome an courteous an professional service all along. Great breakfast, even under COVID rules. If anything, a bit noisy due to rail tracks nearby.

Great place, an historical building that was the most elegant and it's still the best in town. The food is very traditional, but of high quality. Even though I'm not a big fan of meaty traditional German food, here I had the best Sauerbraten so far. The service is friendly and welcoming. Will come back again!

Solid choice for Bacharach: The inn is right in the heart of the village with its picturesque facade. Service and facilities are good but could be freshened up. The room decor is a bit dated. Good value for money right now. The breakfast is good and I enjoyed dinner at the restaurant as well.

This is a wonderful family run(4 generations), hotel. The rooms are large and comfortable.The location is right in the center of town, yet quiet and peaceful. The daily breakfast is very tasty, with so many choices. It is included in the price of your room. You can't miss this "on the Rhine" location. We wish we could have spent more time here, and left feeling like family!

We had an incredible lunch here and partook in a wine tasting. It was a little under 18 euro and it came with 6 mini carafes of wine. There were different options depending on what your taste in wine was, so you can adjust your order to your preference. For lunch, the pumpkin cream soup was amazing. Honestly so delicious. Perfect!!! We stayed in one of their apartments, it was clean and had EVERYTHING you would ever need. WE LOVED IT!!!! Thoroughly enjoyed our 3-nights-stay here. Had booked the Deluxe Suite with Whirlpool. While the decor may not be to everyone's taste - the bed was huge and comfortable, the shower was spacious and luxurious. The breakfast buffet was extensive and offered something for everyone. Would absolutely recommend!

We had an excellent stay here. They are going for a boutique hotel vibe. The location is perfect; it’s right in the center of town. Air conditioning worked great which is hard to come by in Germany. It’s 1.5 km uphill ride away from downtown. We didn’t receive the information required to enter the hotel/room. We had to call and wait for a response. Just hate these hotels without a reception. Always a hassle. Otherwise, nice room. Budget friendly.

We loved this hotel. It was easy to access, cheap parking across the street and a short walk to the main areas of town. We had a private porch with a view up the mountain. Owners Sybille & Stefan are great. They speak great English and are very helpful with suggestions and directions. The pension is very close to towncenter. The price is affordable and the rooms are very clean. I highly recommend this pension if you are staying Bacharach.

Good value for the money. This is a Rick Steves recommendation. The rooms are quiet and clean but the beds aren't the most comfortable. The breakfast is very nice, though, as are the hosts. Its an easy and pretty walk into Bacharach. Go in the fall during harvest to taste the federweiser and enjoy the beautiful colors of the vineyards.

This is a great place to stay and they have bikes and breakfast and it's a great price! They are super nice and I highly recommend staying here! Just don't try to bike to Koblenz (turns out its 52 miles round trip). You will feel like you're dying :P

I stayed with my young family of 4 for one night on our road trip down to Tuscany. What a unique experience to stay in such a wonderful castle. We loved the food especially the spaghetti. As many other reviews have highlighted the hotel is located right in front of the train line with regular passenger and freight trains passing by. Nice little town on Rhine River with a lot of history. Off season is very slow, not much open but this hotel still charges full top dollar prices for tiny rooms. The prices in the restaurant are also high. You can stay and dine at nicer places cheaper.

This Hotel has the best food anywhere on the Rhein river. Service is great and friendly at a decent price. As with any hotel along the river dealing with railroad, street and river commerce traffic has it's drawbacks but if your exhausted from traveling all day noise won't matter. The rooms were reasonably furnished in a modern style, the bathrooms, the age of the building is set up accordingly. Wir haben hier zu Abend gegessen. Habe den Pfälzer Saumagen mit Sauerkraut und Bratkartoffeln genommen. Sehr lecker, vorallem das Sauerkraut war sehr gut. Allerdings waren gerade die Portionen der Beilagen sehr gering ausgefallen.

I wish if lift goes to all floors. Since I had carry up heavy luggages by steps from ground to the 1st floor and another steep steps ffom the highest floor for the lift on the 3rd floor to upper floor where the room was located, I twisted and injured my knee. I stayed in an attic room because I wanted to try it out. The view of the Rhine River was amazing. The room was clean and quiet, so I was able to relax. The food was delicious, and the view was great.

The Title is an old Danish saying, and it fits in perfectly, as the Hotel owner, Pernille is also Danish, making sure all guests are taking good care of. Nice restaurant with Terrace overlooking the Rhine. Traditional German cuisine with large desert and drinks menu.

The room's view was nice but didn't have a lift, also there was no ventilation in the bathroom which made things complicated. The personnel were nice and the food was great!

I'm very satisfied. It's right by the Rhine River. It's very comfortable to rest under the outdoor vineyards. The handsome guys and beauties in the store are very nice. They recommended the one-day tour route and ticket purchase method of ring ticket. When I checked out, the landlady happened to be there. I was happy to check out the hotel. Great location on the Rhine with other bars and restaurants close by. Nice eating area outside and very helpful staff. Food was good and the breakfast the same.

Definitely an absolutely beautiful place with a lot of charming, history and nice views either to vineyards or the Rihn. We couldn’t imagine that this hotel was really keeping the essence of the 2n oldest hotel in Germany. They are doing amazing! Oh yes...this is an awesome experience! What a great find in todays rushed modern world. This hotel is 500 years old and has the feel of a historical place. Worth the visit...I consider it a MUST.

Beautiful hotel with a great view of the Rhine. Comfortable bed and very nice bathroom. This historic hotel is well-preserved and is fun to experience. The trains are frequent and loud throughout the night, so this may not be the right place for light sleepers or if you forgot your earplugs. Rooms are not air conditioned, but you can request a fan. Friendly staff at check-in.

The place is very Good,very relaxing !! The Owner Frau.Carla and her two children Anna & son Timo is perfect in English and are a perfect Team and Great Host !! Frau.Carla makes wonderful pizza! Highly recommended if you want valve for money homely atmosphere and personalised service !!

Very nice family staff, very helpful. If you primarily speak English, you might have some difficulty, but overall it was a great experience. They do not take Visa cards, so pay cash or with a local bank card.

I can recommend Locally, absolutely. Have made in the garden area for a "Sundowner", then absolutely typical Italian eaten. Best Pizza I had ever eaten. Also, the pasta dishes were absolutely great and fresh. After dinner, we were invited to a nightcap from the Boss. Mille grazie for the lovely evening with you!

Wonderful stay at Monte Somma. I truly enjoyed my visit to Assmannshausen. Carla is a magnificent hostess, helpful in all matters. I look forward to returning soon.

Great stay. Three nights in September in room #12. Balcony at front with view of Rhine River. Room was very comfortable. Adjustable beds, refrigerator, Nespresso coffee maker, ample storage, renovated bathroom. Very good quality breakfast with eggs, meats, cheeses, and fresh breads/pastries/jams. Enjoyed a reasonably priced 3-course dinner with good local wines. Marco was a great host.

The rooms are nice and clean, and the views are beautiful. However, I feel that the hotel owner could be more welcoming and respectful towards both guests and staff.

Wonderful place. We stayed in comfort double room, with a beautiful river view. Clean, cosy, very light (2 windows), all small things available. Comfortable bike parking in the garage. Welcoming staff, also speaking English. Only downside (as in all hotels along the river) - if you open the window you can hear also the road.
