Lovely 3-night stay in this great hotel located in an old building with character by the beach. Personnel are supper attentive and pay great attention to detail. Facilities include gym, swimming pool and a spa area with saunas. Great breakfast experience with varied buffet and a la carte options.

Beach location with a view of garbage cans and walls, rooms in need of renovation and staff who are completely untrained in hospitality. Less is not possible. A pity. It could be great. Outdated tradition with unfriendly staff in dirty, old, black uniforms.

Wonderful, clean hotel with hands on management. The breakfast buffet is great and the hotel hosts a top bar. The location is perfect for the beach and a short distance from the train.

Beautiful art deco style Hotel with a nice smokers lounge. The coffee and cake was as to be expected from THE address in Westerland. The charm from the last century is also present in the personell reading the wishes off the faces of their guests.

The location was fantastic, the staff attentive and friendly. Our kids reckoned that it would be like staying at your really rich Grandparents house.. (if only our kids had really rich grandparents)

Guests SMOKE in the bar; guests SMOKE in the rooms. Everything smells of smoke. Terrible! Not to be recommended. Had we known it, we would not have made the reservation. However, service is alright. Unbelievable: The four cars of owner's family are permanently blocking the parking space for the guests. It seems that everything is stagnant, possibly because owner's family, smokers themselves, are stagnant (and arrogant?). We left very disappointed.

The reception is very friendly and efficient. The staff, especially the chef restaurant (Mr. Heuer) is perfect. Old school with a good dose of humor. The room was ok, not very big and the bathroom was small, but equipped with everything you need. The beds are excellent, everything is very clean. The breakfast, partly buffet, partly à la carte, is varied and of the best quality. WiFi doesn't deserve 5 stars, very slow, TV not working and this for a week. Sauna cannot be used because showers do not work and the steam bath is broken. Shouldn't happen at this level. In general, the hotel is getting old and would need a refresh. Price-performance not ok in my opinion.

Great hotel with a unique location, but it is a bit “out of date”. Money would have to be raised here for necessary renovations. I don't understand why guests get upset about the cigarette smoke. Mr. Kreis is allowed to smoke in his own house. 😇. You have to look past his occasional arrogance with good will. Nevertheless, in my opinion, the price screw is being pushed too excessively. Does a simple espresso - as I said, a simple espresso - have to cost €4.20? I think that's completely exaggerated. And please, no more plastic clothes hangers. This is not appropriate for a 5* hotel.
