Castillo Playa Tourist base

Wouldn't hesitate to book again ! Rooms are dated and tired but you sleep and shower there and they are more than adequate for that. For thoses who tbink TV is a must on holiday there are the main 5 channels plus a couple of film channels. Pool itself is excellent , clean and refreshing , and the pool bar and staff can't be faulted...... neither can the food , drinks or prices !

Great location. Close to beach and restaurants and only 10 minutes from the airport.

Bungalows are well designed to have private patios and sun loungers. Most have the sun for long periods.
Complimentary water and wine on arrival.
We stayed in 810 next to the road which wasn't a problem, and we had sun on our patio from sunrise until about 3pm.
Having your own sunbathing patio area prevented sunbed wars and there was always sunbed available near the pool.
The pool is very nice and warmer than most.
The snack bar provides really nice food and the staff really nice and helpful.
It's a very popular place and many guests are regulars. Most guests are probably aged 60 plus.
The beds are comfortable, showers good with plenty of hot water.
We're more than likely going to revisit in 2026. It's a quiet relaxing place.
The reasons I didn't give five stars are that the place needs refreshing and the cleaning of areas like the patio needed more attention. Also, no sunshades on bungalows next to road or at pool area or padding on sunloungers.

Been coming here for 13 years.Seen a few changes,enclosure of the pool,air conditioning,solar panels.A little gem! 2nd row to castillo beach,so 150m away. 1 bed bungalows with twin beds.Lovely pool with a slope,stairs or ladder access.seems to be salt water now and a bit warmer.Secure site with a helpful reception and a security man at night.Hardworking pool bar and cafe with nice food and friendly service.Close to the airport so a quick taxi transfer the flip side of that being on the landing path but that doesn't bother us and flights stop at night.Our taxi tried to take us to castillo beach bungalows up the mountain but a quick shout got him back on track to castillo PLAYA bungalows (too many castles!).If i were being really picky I would say that the mattresses are beginning to sag and probably need replacing sooner than ones at home.Overall a great stay and a really relaxing holiday complex.Heres to the next 13 years!

Excellent location, the rooms are spotless and have everything which you will need. The rooms are tired, however, a space to use as a base. The mattresses in a room were excellent. The pool area is good, and the bar offers food, but we haven't eaten here. Domestic staff are very friendly. The location is close to the shops, 5 minute walk. The beach is 5 minutes in the opposite direction.

Our first time staying here and it’s utterly charming and traditional (which we love) and with everything you need. The kitchenette is small but does have everything - electric hob, toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer, pots n pans, kitchen utensils, cutlery and crockery. Cupboard space is limited but there is a long sideboard.
The beds are traditional wood-framed and extremely comfortable. Most rooms have twin beds which is very typical Spanish but can easily be pushed together.
This seems to be a very popular establishment, with people returning year after year, and many booking up to 15 months in advance (so booking early is highly advised).
The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, checking in was easy.
Behind reception, there is a bar/cafe which serves drinks and food at very reasonable prices; a good breakfast and a coffee will set you back no more than £7. They also offer a take away service.
There is also a self-service laundry with washer and dryer (€10.50 for washer, dryer and a laundry pod) which we took advantage of.
It’s 5 mins walk to the resort centre and even less to the beach.
For wheelchair users there is ramp access to most communal places, however most bungalows do have one small step to to get into them. If you’re hiring a mobility scooter then there is ample space to park it.
All in all a delightful place to stay, with all the mod cons, but still retaining its Spanish charm and authenticity.

The bar staff are very friendly & helpful . The location couldn't be better.
Would definitely come back again, but it's very hard to find a vacancy. Everyone keeps going back. If you're lucky enough to get in you won't be disappointed.

5 star overall. 3 stars for rooms need updating. Would it stop us coming back NO, and that's why there don't update because we keep coming back. The food is great. Staff excellent

Brilliant bungalows a short stroll to the nearest bars/ restaurants and the beach. Lovely staff and a very good ,and cheap, bar that serves excellent breakfast and pub style food on site.

Very friendly staff, any concerns are dealt with straight away. The nearest centre is a 5 minute walk away. The rooms are very clean and neat, albeit a little tired in some areas. No complaints.

An ideal self catering resort 5 minutes from the beach 8 minutes from bars and restaurants it as a patio area for sunbathing with sunbeds a pool area bar and food I've only eaten breakfast there but it was excellent staff are very friendly and helpful everything you need in a place like this
