Mirador Maspalomas by Dunas

The hotel is inland, but a free shuttle is provided for the beach. Staff are friendly and hardworking. I do, however, have two complaints. Jet2 advertise the hotel as a family destination yet there is no gate on the children's pool area which would add a level of added security. We are travelling with 2 toddlers, yet we have been allocated rooms over the smoking area and the pool bar where nightly very loud entertainment does not finish until 11pm. It can be heard even with the balcony doors closed, which also makes sleep difficult as the air-conditioning unit is portable and needs to be vented through the open door! There is a ceiling fan, but this just circulates hot air. We have twice requested quieter family rooms only to be told the hotel is full and there are none available. This is despite an email request before we arrived, and there have been two changeover days during our stay so far. The hotel does not appear to be full, but maybe there are a lot of rooms with single occupancy. I therefore could not recommend this hotel as a destination for families with young children.

Great Family Holiday... Until the Midlife Crisis Convention Rolled In”

We’ve been enjoying a brilliant stay at the Mirador Maspalomas — the kind of hotel where you’d expect relaxation, family fun, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. Everything was spotless, the staff couldn’t have been friendlier, and the family entertainment kept us all smiling.

But then... cue the Harley Davidson Biker Convention. Two days ago, a fleet of middle-aged bikers rolled in, seemingly fuelled by midlife crises and a mission to commandeer the hotel. Since then, the peaceful family vibe has been hijacked. The bar and entertainment areas are no longer spaces for families to unwind but rather look like the set of a budget biker film. Trying to find a free table? Forget it! The bikers have claimed them all, camping out for hours like they’re defending sacred territory.

The behaviour? Rude would be an understatement. Bar staff are treated with utter disregard, and the waft of cigarette smoke seems to have become their calling card. What was shaping up to be a 5-star family holiday has been overshadowed by leather jackets and an apparent disdain for anyone who didn’t arrive on two wheels.

Mirador Maspalomas was a real gem — but it’s hard to recommend it without a warning: check if there’s an impending invasion of leather and egos before booking!

Update 1:15am. We now have a bunch of them fighting in the hotel. So much for a good night's sleep. Disgraceful.

Nice room always cleaned very well. All staff were friendly and helpful. Great pool. Good entertainment.

Nice and clean hotel a big minus was the food. If you want to get a hotel with good food your not gonna find it here.
