We loved our stay at Buganvilla!
Hotel was well maintained with lovely pool area. Food was nice, although not a massive choice for picky eaters.
Close to variety of shops and a short walk to local beach.
Would definitely come again!

Lovely spacious room,my room was near the reception which I requested as being a solo traveler it’s important to me that I don’t have far to walk to my room from the entertainment area. I was facing the pool, but didn’t find it noisy. Where my room was situated it was noisy in the evenings as I was next to the entertainment room, but I joined in with the fun,and came to my room when the entertainment was over. My room was very modern, and a comfortable bed. The staff through out the hotel were very friendly and polite. There was a gentleman in reception was very polite and helpful he gave me his card to get in touch next year before my visit to ask for a room in the same level and request to stay until 4pm on my departure date. Check in and out was good. Everything was up to my expectations. I really enjoyed my stay the long journey from the airport was worth it,and I found the whole package was worth the price I paid.

Great hotel and service! Elizebeth at the front desk was amazing!!! We are on special diets so we had to bring our pre packed meals and Elizebeth went way and beyond her call of duty .. in accommodating our needs and arranged space in the restaurants freezer and helped us every day with warming them up … Thank you Elizebeth!!

We have stayed many times in Jandia at various hotels. This is the first time here and what a delight! Not a huge hotel which is an advantage. Perfect location for beach, shops. Mainly German guests. Middle age + (like us!). Very civilised & respectful. No rowdiness. We chatted to some lovely people. It’s relaxed & peaceful. Not many children in November but those that were here were very well behaved. Felt like adults only. Food & drink are great but like any AI gets a bit repetitive over 14 days. Dined outdoors on the lovely terrace for all meals. Not as chaotic as some AI buffet restaurants. People were nicely dressed for dinner. Men don’t need to wear long trousers despite the info on Jet2 website. Great sized room with view of pool, lighthouse & sea. Modern bathroom. Cleanliness in room & all other areas of hotel is 10/10. Not much daytime activity - yoga, aqua aerobics & a few games like darts, shuffle board but that suits us. Evening entertainment has been really good. Lots of live music - Funkatronic were particularly good. Plenty of sunbeds and spacious terrace and pool area. My only small criticism is a lot of sunbeds need replacing as broken or sagging. It’s a really well run hotel with respectful staff and guests! Although I can’t understand the negative reviews it’s not a ‘British’ hotel which is one of the main advantages & we have booked to come back next year.

This hotel seems to attract chain smoking middle aged Germans and everything is targeted at this clientele - the food, entertainment and very low energy, low enthusiasm daytime activities. During half term, the kids met only one other English speaking child. Zero kids disco/entertainment if that's your thing. As for food, some days, there weren't even chips available. Mine are neurodiverse, the all inclusive option was totally wasted on them. As a vegetarian, I survived on salad and fruit. Even as a meat eater, my partner gave the food a 1/5. I usually ignore negative reviews, preferring to be optimistic but there's little to be positive about. The pool always had sunbeds but largely because of the age group of other guests, they were sat at the pool bar. The self serve drinks didn't bother us, I know some people found this a negative but the result is the same, you get a drink. No ice cream or snacks but there is a fridge with a few sandwiches. Hotel was clean. We had a view of a brick wall but not willing to pay extra for a sea or pool view. Great location but thats definitely not a reason to book, there are other hotels with more life and less smoke (never seen so many smokers) to go and enjoy with your family. Booked with Jet2, will be cautious when booking with them in future. Certainly not comparable with any other 4 star we've been on.

Overall really disappointed with this hotel. We stayed for a week at R2 Buganvilla and it was a holiday from hell because we had to endure a horrible hot room, repetitive/bland food, rude staff and rude tourists every single day. It was very isolating, stressful and an uncomfortable experience. Initially when we arrived we thought the air conditioning unit was not working right, however, on one of the days it was 100% not working full stop. Therefore, we called reception to ask for someone to come and fix our air con. A technician was sent up but he spoke no English whatsoever and only talked Spanish. All he did was climb up a ladder and hold a thermometer up to the air conditioning unit and proceeded to say it was fine and signalled to us with his hands to keep the curtains closed (our curtains were already closed). By this point the heat felt unbearable due to the heatwave and temperatures were reaching 40 degrees celsius, and as a result of this I suffered from heatstroke. As someone who suffers from postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTs) I am unable to regulate my temperature and so felt very poorly. Later on we saw that others staying in the hotel had their front doors open from the unbearable heat, so we called reception again about the air conditioning as we felt ours was still not working - then we were told that the whole hotels air con was broken and that they were waiting for someone to fix it from Gran Canaria!! We asked hotel staff for a fan instead and they did not have one to give us. We could not even open our balcony door because it would have let calima inside and the weather report suggested the air quality was severely unhealthy and therefore a health risk. The hotel food was so repetitive as well and there was not much option for vegetarians and at times not all food was labelled so it was hard to know if there was meat in it or what was in it at all, this is very bad especially if one has a food allergy. The food was catered to German cuisine and there was not much choice, as well as this food was uncovered so flies were landing in the food. It was difficult trying to find a table to eat at as there are not enough seats/tables for the amount of customers they have in the hotel. In addition to this, there is only one pool and never any sunbeds! The pool is tiny and is always full of children catapulting balls or standing on your feet. We weren’t made aware that there was no cleaning service on a Sunday till we called reception. This left us without any toilet roll… The entertainment was not very good and it was in German, and the room used for this was so small there was not enough tables/chairs to cater for everyone that wanted to watch. Occasionally you would have grown adults or children stand directly in front of you whilst you’re trying to watch. We felt very isolated our whole stay there. We also asked if we could pay for a late check out seen as I was feeling so poorly and our transfer and fligh

We have just returned from an incredible 9 night stay here. I am genuinely baffled by the negative reviews below. The hotel is so lovely and relaxing, and the staff are really friendly and helpful. I suppose if you are a friendly, polite person yourself then people that you interact with normally behave in a similar manner. The food was lovely and varied each day. There was always pasta/chips/ nuggets type things for fussy kids along with lots of lovely fresh options for the adults. The pool area was lovely - really clean and always lots of sun loungers available. My boys loved the kids club. One lady even face painted a York city football badge on my 5 year old, despite never having heard of York city! The hotel was only 5 mins walk from the most enormous, beautiful, golden sandy beach, along with lots of shops and a few bars and restaurants. The only slight downside for us was the room was small for a family of 4 with very little storage space. Having said that the room was modern, spotless, had good air con, comfy beds and a great bathroom. All in all we had a fantastic holiday and are looking to book again next year.

We stayed here for 11 days all-inclusive, travelling from the UK for our first time in Fuerteventura, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice of hotel. The hotel itself was spotless – rooms were cleaned daily (except Sundays), which meant everything was always tidy and fresh. The air conditioning in the room was an absolute blessing after a hot day in the sun. The food exceeded our expectations. While it’s clear that the majority of guests are German and the menu leans that way, there was still plenty of variety – a good selection of meat and fish freshly cooked at the buffet counter, lots of vegetables, salads, fruits, cakes, ice cream, and more. Even our 16-year-old picky eater found meals he enjoyed every day! Between mealtimes, the snack bar was a nice touch with toasties, sandwiches, and cake. The bar service was excellent with a wide selection of cocktails, spirits, and beers. Around the pool, sun loungers filled quickly, but we preferred the terrace with jacuzzis where there were always beds available – perfect for relaxing. The staff were fantastic: friendly, helpful, and most spoke English, as did the guests which made everything easy. On our late-night arrival, the hotel had even prepared a table of food for us from that evening’s dinner service – such a thoughtful touch. On departure day, although check-out was at 12, they kindly extended us to 1:30pm and allowed us to continue using the facilities until our transfer, so we enjoyed lunch and an afternoon in the sun before leaving. The location is also ideal – just a short 5-minute walk to a stunning golden sandy beach with crystal-clear water, where you can even spot fish while swimming. Shops, markets, and excursion options are all nearby; we booked a dolphin and snorkelling speedboat trip right at the beach entrance, which was a brilliant experience. Overall, R2 Buganvilla gave us a fantastic holiday. Great facilities, delicious food, excellent staff, and a beautiful location. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to return!

Miserable Stay, Absolutely Not a 4-Star Hotel
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. We stayed at R2 Buganvilla Hotel during a heatwave where temperatures were reaching over 40°, and the air conditioning in our room didn’t work for the entire trip. When I complained, the hotel sent a Spanish-speaking technician who couldn’t understand a word we said and simply declared it was “fine” (it wasn’t). We were then told it was fixed—this was a lie—only to later hear it was actually broken and they were “waiting for a technician from Gran Canaria.” I explained that we urgently needed a solution, like a fan, because a family member with a heart condition cannot regulate their temperature. The hotel still did nothing. This led to that family member suffering heatstroke and requiring multiple trips to the pharmacy for medication.

The so-called “snack bar” is a joke: a small fridge with sad ham and cheese sandwiches you can toast, plus a tray of mushy cakes. The main buffet food is bland, repetitive, and 100% geared toward German guests. Every poster is in German, the entertainment is in German, and the vast majority of residents are German—many of whom were shockingly rude. One incident in the restaurant left us humiliated when a woman ran over shouting in German, claiming we had “her” table, despite there being no sign or items on it. We left in embarrassment.

The entertainment room is stuffy, has no aircon, and never enough seats. Reception staff are abrupt, unfriendly, and seem to have no patience for English-speaking guests. The pool? Tiny, overcrowded, and full of kids hurling balls around. There’s only one pool, nowhere near enough sunbeds, and guests reserve them at the crack of dawn.

No cleaning service on Sundays meant we were left without toilet roll and with dirty towels. We also had an ant infestation all over the desk and dresser. Outside the hotel, there’s very little to do—almost every excursion is in the north or middle of the island, hours away.

To top it off, when we asked about paying for a late checkout (normal checkout is 12 noon, but our transfer wasn’t until 5:25pm), explaining it was so my family member with a medical condition could have a toilet and stay comfortable, the man at reception actually laughed in our faces and told us the hotel was fully booked.

Checkout was the final straw. The lady at reception gave us a dirty look, didn’t ask how our stay was, and just snatched the room cards from our hands before walking away. No thank you, no goodbye—just complete indifference. We also asked someone else if they could change two 50-cent coins for a euro so we could use the luggage weight machine, and a different member of staff just shrugged and said “I don’t know.” She didn’t know how it worked either, which made no sense—how do you work at reception and not know how a basic hotel amenity functions?

The only positive: shops, restaurants, a beach, and a pharmacy nearby (though the pharmacy is shut often). The room itself is modern, but that’s meaningless when you have no aircon in extreme heat, unhelpful staff, repetitive food, rude guests, ants, and poor cleanliness.

How this is rated as a 4-star hotel is beyond me. For us, it was a miserable, uncomfortable, and stressful experience. I’ve had better nights’ sleep on the Megabus to Inverness. By day three we were longing for the comfort and glamour of a Travelodge by the A1.

Avoid at all costs. 👎🏼

Just arrived home from a lovely holiday at this hotel. The room we were allocated was modern and very clean with a comfortable sofa bed for our daughter. We had booked a lateral sea view but were disappointed as we were facing a wall. If I were to book again I would definitely ask for a pool view as you would then also have a sea view. I did ask twice to be moved, and pay extra, but the receptionist said the hotel was full. There is a very relaxed atmosphere around the pool and beds with umbrellas were available at all times. Nobody took advantage of the all inclusive drinks. You were able to serve yourself lager, wine coffee and soft drinks. Spirits were served by the bartenders. There was also a little snack area where you could help yourself with toasties and pastries throughout the day. The staff worked really hard in the restaurant to clear tables to ensure nobody had to wait. The food at breakfast was excellent either freshly made omelettes and a really wide selection of food. At lunch and evening meal the food was also very good although it could by the end of the week be a little monotonous. There were sometimes queues for the cooked meat and fish but they went quickly. There were some good singers/bands in the evening but the magician and Brazilian dancers were not as good. The hotel had mainly German guests and the entertainment was in both German and English. The entertainment finished at 10.00pm and most people then either went to their rooms or continued drinking and playing cards by the pool bar. There was also resort itself is beautiful with stunning beaches but it does have very little bars or entertainment in the evening. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for a relaxed holiday in a well run hotel with a wonderful setting.
