That is our 4th time staying in Sol Barbacan as couple and the family. This time it was family vacation and again never disappointed! Staff always welcoming and try to do their best to accommodate your needs. Rooms always clean as well as all surroundings. Breakfast buffet you spoiled for choice! The rest of the meals lovely too. We decided to hang around resort more often this time rather then going out and had a fabulous time. Thank you to all for another fabulous holiday. We will be back! P.S. apologies Max and Patrick we didn’t have a chance to say goodbye our transfer came early but we send our hugs to you

We stayed as a family of 5 for 2 weeks in a bungalow, which was cleaned daily and always spotless. The staff were always friendly and accommodating to everyone’s needs, especially Dina at the main bar area who was always so friendly and welcoming and made the best cocktails! There is many activities throughout the resort for all age groups which are organized by the animation team, Max, Roberto, Patrick and the others, who did an amazing job to include everyone and always have a great time! Food was phenomenal and there are many choices to choose from catering to everyone’s needs and in the evenings in the resort there are shows organized so you don’t need to go far. The area that the resort is located is very handy with shops close by and also the Yumbo center only a 5 minute walk away. We will definitely be back !

We stayed here for 11 nights bed and breakfast in a 2 bedroom apartment (479) 8th-19th June. All the staff were brilliant, very friendly and very helpful. Breakfasts were very good and had lots of choice omelettes were very good. Poolside snacks were very good also and the tapas menu was very good. We had a meal in El Portalon restaurant which was lovely, not too expensive either. No problems getting a sunbed through the day either. The rooms were spacious and the balcony was huge with sunbeds. Hotel very clean. If I had to pick fault with the room it would be lack of plugs beside beds and air con wasn’t brill in the main bedroom. Entertainment on every night in the Portalon lounge. We managed to get a late checkout as well as our transfer wasn’t until 18:30 which meant you could hang around the pool all day. Loads of restaurants near by and taxi rank across the road, 4 euros to the beach where there are a lot more restaurants and bars.

There is a lot to like about the Sol Barbacan. We stayed for a week in a lovely bungalow with our own private roof terrace and next to the pool. It was lovely, really spacious and immaculately clean. The grounds are impeccable, and I didn’t meet a single grumpy staff member! All the staff meet you with a hello and a smile. Great breakfast buffet and pool bar and lunch very reasonable and tasty Shout out to Max in the animation team, a star in the making and the lovely tall blonde lady who worked in the pool bar and restaurant (sorry I didn’t catch her name). This is our second visit and we will be back. Thanks for a great holiday!

A lovely hotel with great facilities! I felt very welcomed by the staff on arrival. The gym had everything needed and breakfast too with a lot to choose from. The staff were amazing! Especially Dina working on the bar, she was very friendly and she works very hard. The room was clean and I had nothing to complain about, the housekeeper Pino also made me feel very welcome at the hotel with her kind personality and she did an amazing job cleaning the room every day. The evening entertainment was fun and very entertaining! Food and drinks were also great! I will definitely visit again when in Gran Canaria.

Slightly on the outskirts, but excellent location. No shortage of shops and restaurants nearby, but far enough from the madness
Staff were so lovely, especially as they gave us a birthday bottle of prosecco.
3 pools were lovely, especially the adults pool. The breakfast was amazing.

We spent a week in this hotel in April 2025. It was our first time at this hotel. The hotel is very well located. The beach of Playa Del Ingles, Maspalomas, Faro, the dunes, shopping centers, shops, everything is easily and quickly accessible from the hotel. Very clean, tidy hotel. The staff is very friendly, kind, helpful. We would especially highlight Davinie at the reception. They have a solution for every problem. The food is amazing. Fresh food with a large selection, tastefully, deliciously prepared, with professional staff. We highly recommend it to everyone.

Just returned from an excellent week family holiday. Hotel was great location, only 20 minutes walk to the front beach area. We travelled as a family of 6, 4 staying in a two bedroomed bungalow and myself and husband in the xtra faro view room on the 5th floor. Our room was exceptional and well worth paying the extra for with wine and snacks on arrival, free mini bar containing beer, and soft drinks. Personal maid service from Olga who did an excellent job of looking after us. We stayed half board and the food selection at both breakfast and in the evening was very good with something to cater for everyone's taste and all the serving staff very friendly. Because we stayed in the xtra room we received a voucher to eat at the A la Carte restaurant on site one evening which was very enjoyable. The staff on reception were very helpful and always smiling, nothing was too much trouble. We had a fabulous family holiday and would highly recommend.
