Pros:
The price! We only paid €80 for two rooms on a weekday in October.
The view! From the 6th floor we had a beautiful city view.
The location - very central and pretty quiet at night.
The friendly reception staff, the cleanliness, and the charming traditional look.
Thanks to the metal shutters, you can block out a lot of sunlight, heat and noise.
Check-in is at 14 and check-out is at 12 which is great if you arrive early and like to sleep in!
Cons:
The AC didn’t work, possibly because it was centrally turned off since it was the end of October. The room was a bit warm and stuffy though.
The mattress was only 190x140 cm, hard, old and sloped towards the middle. My parents had a softer and probably newer mattress, the one in room 607 should definitely be replaced.
Sound insulation is very poor as others have remarked - we could hear my parents in the room next door.
Neutral:
Shower pressure wasn’t great but in an older building on the 6th floor that’s understandable - temperature was good.
Elevator barely fits 4 people and their luggage but we never had to wait for longer than a minute.
We would have strongly preferred a firmer and bigger pillow but that’s personal preference.
All in all, a good choice for budget travellers! Only an 18 min walk from the train station.

Basic hotel, only stayed for one night, the staff was alright, not excellent but not terrible either. I had woken up late and missed the breakfast, I asked the morning lady and she concurred that indeed the breakfast hours had ended. As I was leaving in a hurry right at check out she brought up “oh and you had breakfast reserve too”, but I sensed a sarcastic tone. So yeah…. Lol

Great value for money! Nice hotel in the center of Salamanca, we stay 2 nights and it’s right next to the main shopping street, over 5 minutes walking till the main square and surrounded by everything u need for comfy staying, with comfortable beds and very charming staff.

AC not working in both rooms we've booked.

After check in,the receipter(a gril) says here only for sleep.... instead of if u need any help,in my long run trip,this is the first time make me uncomfortable...

Must be the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in. The ancient lift can be heard clunking and groaning in all parts of the building. Thin walls and tiled corridors only serve as amplification. And don't think you'll get to lie on in the morning. Around 8.30 the cleaners banging and thumping and dragging furniture across tiled floors will make sure you don't.
Then there's the dangerous showers which are actually bathtubs with a shower fitting and curtain. Mine had no slip mat. This was to my cost as when I bent over to turn off the water I slipped, fell backwards and banged my head on the wash hand basin. No great damage done apart from a very sore back but it could have been serious.

Wonderful hotel, lovely staff especially Nur and Belén who are very friendly and attentive. No hesitation in staying there every time I am in Salamanca. I plan to stay in this hotel in October. Thoroughly enjoyable stay. The staff couldn't be more helpful. The prices are very affordable and the room very comfortable.

Austere hotel with an unbeatable location, very near the Plaza Mayor of Salamanca. Excellent return for price. The room was basic, no frills, and spotlessly clean. The attention by the staff was warm, helpful and immediate. We had a great view of the Cathedral. We will certainly return to Hotel Condal.
