We had a wonderful visit. The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly, in particular Christian Perez who was the receptionist on duty when we arrived. Despite not having booked, and they were hosting 2 different events at the time of our arrival, the reception staff managed to organise with chef to provide dinner for us.

The Hotel Alameda Palace in Salamanca is an old and very opulent hotel in the heart of the city. While most of the hotel is very beautiful and opulent, small things like door locks and lifts are not up to scratch. There are plenty of attentive staff and rooms are clean.

The Alameda Palace was a downhill, 11-minute walk from the station and, generally, offered a great location. Entering the lobby is like stepping into the Ritz Carlton: Lots of gleaming brass, deep red and black tones set the mood of an old-fashioned hotel, accented by chandeliers.
The room was astonishing: Long and stately, again picking up the regal red and black colors in the furniture and décor, splitting the sitting area (with a pull-out couch) by sliding doors that formed the room facing the street. The beds were firm and comfortable; bathroom was classy looking, complete with granite floors and sink. WIFI was rock solid. Best of all, the price was very reasonable ... the best overnight stay of my two weeks traveling around Spain and Portugal.
If the proprietors read this, I’d suggest adding two inexpensive missing room items: Facial tissue and hair conditioner.

After a long walk around the ancient part of Salamanca, this hotel seemed like a beautiful complement to our experience as it was close to the newer side of the city. After walking around the shopping district on a windy cold evening. It was dissapointing that our room lacked amenities for hot drinks or any options of a minibar. The hall sensor lights do not work properly all the time especially at the farthest part of the hallway where our rooms were. The staff members we encountered were neither friendly nor communicated in manner that made us feel welcome.

A very old but renovated hotel in good location. Within walking distance to shopping area. The only less impressive was the buffet breakfast and only a few choices.

This is an Italianate inspired hotel with acres of marble and mirrors. Everywhere you look are reproductions of old masters and in each room and the hallways are pieces of reproduction furniture, chests of drawers and desks. The rooms have a LOT of mirrors , especially the bathroom which can be a little off-putting depending on your body and self esteem! The 9th floor has a terrace restaurant and a pool above which was closed, but the view over Salamanca is beautiful. The big let down was the buffet breakfast. It was pretty average. Only chocolate rice bubbles and cornflakes, badly made scrambled eggs and bacon. Lots of slices meat and cheese. Boxed juice dispenser which was not orange, but was unidentifiable. The coffee machine was good. The pastries poor. The serving staff were not friendly. I’m sure they don’t like yours as they are overwhelming and demanding and you could tell. Such a shame as the old world charm of the property was spoiled and lowered my rating.

Great location with easy parking. Our suite was large and very well presented with views over the city. Bathroom was very spacious with good shower, double sinks and jacuzzi bath. The only negative was the air con refused to work!

Well located, about 5 minutes walk from the historical centre (which is absolutely fabulous). Lobby was beautiful, reception staff helpful and the room was good and clean. When we arrived we put our car right outside the front and one of the reception staff parked it for us in the underground car park (about £10 a day) - which I thought was very reasonable. Breakfast was good, as was the breakfast room. We didn't try the restaurant but we spoke to people who had eaten in the rooftop bar/restaurant and they said that it was good. The rooftop swimming pool area is very small, indeed the pool is more like a large jacuzzi - but what do you expect at the top of a high building. Would definitely recommend it - and as for Salamanca - without a doubt the most beautiful and interesting city that I have been to - by a country mile!

Elegant hotel a 12 minute level walk from Salamanca railway station. The lobby is welcoming and beautiful with period furniture, as was our spacious room. Everything sparkles and shines and it felt very luxurious. Lots of amenities in the bathroom including shaver, comb and toothbrushes.
It is a good 20 minute walk to the main sights but along pedestrianised streets with lots to see on the way.
