Omena Hotel Jyväskylä

Pleasantly surprised! I’m usually staying in 4-5 stars, but Omena offered a great alternative when prices peaked. It’s not a hotel you come to enjoy, but for sleeping overnight it’s all good. All rooms in third floor are brand new and more like 3-stars (than 2) in quality. The 1st floor is currently being renewed, so just make sure you don’t get the old rooms in 2nd floor.

Air conditioning was great during heat wave and adjustable per room. On two different stays, the rooms were very quiet and clean. Only the blackout curtains could’ve been slightly better, which is an annoyance in Finnish summer, but very typical even in higher-end hotels.

I would come back, especially when prices are 50% of the nicer hotels in Jyväskylä.

We wasn't expecting much but the location, simple decor and everything is clean. Honestly you guys are offering a simple no nonsense room. Everything you need. Was apprehensive with no staff but communication was great and simple to access. There is free parking a short walk away from 16:00hrs to 8am and free all weekend so no need to pay the whole day at the parking nextdoor. Eitherway great stay

Excellent organisation and very helpful people. Parking place next building, no worries for parking at all. Small and additional faucets were very usefull ànd hygienic for people like me because we have a similar one in my country. The shower with a timer is also a very good idea for saving water for all our future in the world, never seen before. This must be forced to be used by everyone. Bed linen, floor and bathroom acceptablely new and clean. Big TV is an advantage. Using code number to get in and out is simply very clever, don't need to search your card key to go inside every time. Thank you for the builder and management. I will stay againg next time when I come to Jyvaskyla.

Stayed here for 10 days as young family, which is obviously far too long but circumstances required us to do so.

I rate 4 stars out of 5 because:
PROS:
- You literally get what you pay for, nothing more, nothing less.
- The hotel is pretty quiet, at least when we were there we had no trouble whatsoever.
- Cleaning staff is very friendly and helped us out when we needed extra things for the baby ❤️
- Location is almost unbeatable, right in the center.
- Perfect for a night or two, three if must
- The locks with keycode work like a charm.

CONS:
- It looks pretty outdated, interior could use some update or repairs, some walls have cracks, ceiling is loose and bathroom has water damage.
- The quick cleaning is good, the detailed cleaning however is not, dust was all over the place. (however that can be company policy to rush the rooms)
- Beds are only suitable for two nights, my back didn't like it that much.
- No parking available and no discounted parking at Sokos. This could have been better.

Conclusion: it is what it is and that's what you pay for. Perfect if you just need a place to stay and want nothing fancy but just basic stuff to help you out. Would I go again? Probably yes if I travel alone for one or two nights. With a family? Probably not, I'd rather spend a bit extra for an update. Then again, 4 out of 5 if you're looking for a cheap place that is acceptable!

Fine for a short or overnight stay. Has all the basics you need and is very clean.
