Reviews
We had some food in the restaurant and it was tasty. Service was good as well.
I found the rooms a bit of a let down, they were old and in need of a renovation.
Let's make a full review:
The Hotel
The place seems like if they have just invested on the good spa and the gym and sports halls. The rest of it feels outdated. The playground is tearing apart and it seems to be even dangerous. No toys for kids, nothing to play outdoors (like balls, petanques...). The benches are also old and looking dirty, broken...
The Service
We arrived at 14:15 and we knew check-in was at 16h bit the person on the lobby proceed to do the check-in only to finish it abruptly and just repeat over and over that check-in was at 16 but we could use the spa if we wanted. She was a bit rude, but we thought it was just due to rush hour. But... No it wasn't. The staff in general is rude and we found a couple that refused to attend us because they didn't speak English. The two exceptions were the lady controlling the spa and the Spanish speaking reception lady. Anyways. When we finally could do the check-in we asked if there were any paths to walk around, and they said "you can walk the roads in the hotel". Yeah, the car roads or paths to go down to lake and up to hotel. Then we were doing research and they have a information wall on the entrance with some paths explained. The staff was clearly not happy to explain us anything. No explaining about breakfast, lunch, spa... Hours or prices. No information about the playing spaces for kids, about the shared living rooms... NOTHING And it's not due to Corona because all of this is open.
The room
We stayed in one of the smaller family rooms and it's great to have a mini fridge and microwave. A kettle pot is missing. The room was a bit cold for our taste (always 19°C - 20°C) but maybe we are used to higher temperatures due to the fact that we have a baby :) THE ABSOLUTE WORST IS THE LACK OF LIGHT BLOCKING CURTAINS. How come a hotel in Finland can't have this? It's 20€ in Ikea. And we are paying 150€ per night for the room... That we also need to say ITS NOT CLEANED DAILY. A family with a baby, used diapers, food... And they don't even came to pick up the trash can... MAJOR FAIL.
The Food
The breakfast is poor or very basic to be friendly, even for Finland standards. No variety from one day to another. We had to have breakfast there on Easter Sunday, they said they had lunch buffet. The buffet prices on the sign on the entrance were not the prices for this "especial" buffet that was 32,5€ per adult. We are used to go to hotels, and pricey restaurants and brunches, and I'm sorry to be brutally honest but this is a robbery for the quality and variety of the food offered.
