Hotel «Hanasaari»

Great hotel! We stayed here a while ago, it was very cozy. Beautiful rooms designed in 70s style, clean and comfy, very cozy interior, amazing breakfast with multiple options. Water in the indoor swimming pool was a bit chilly, but otherwise both sauna and pool area were clean and well maintained. We’ll gladly come back one day. Recently we just visited the area, very beautiful surroundings in the summer, and big parking. Must visit, by car or by bike

The hotel is a piece of art in itself! What an architectural gem. Restaurant is good. Not too much choice but quality is there. The parc around is super peaceful and the deck to go in the sea after Sauna is amazing. Pool and sauna have limited hours (morning and evening) so carrefour with children. Also a bit isolated. Without a car you won’t do anything around.

Stayed with my family for a few days during our vacation. Generally had a great time. First about the pros:
*) location is amazing - the views are picturesque and it’s very convenient to get around by car, bike, public transport and even on foot
*) the hotel itself shows it’s timeless design - looks great in every detail - both with respect to rooms, common spaces and all facilities. Details like moomin themed cups in the rooms are the cherry on top
*) staff is friendly, helpful and speak excellent English
*) sauna and swimming pool are great - when you want to have a cold bath in between your sauna sessions you can even jump into the cold Baltic Sea from the pier, marvellous!
The only downside of our stay were actually breakfasts. There is almost nothing to choose from and when staying for a few days it’s easy to get bored as they don’t rotate any of the dishes. There is no coffee machine (only filtered coffee)so a big disappointment for cappuccino fans. Also, no cereal (only porridge) and no pancakes so when travelling with kids it’s harder to get them something. It’s not like we left hungry in the morning but definitely something to work on.

Absolutely loved my stay at Hotel Hanaholmen. The renovated retro-style rooms were spotless and super comfortable. The whole atmosphere is calm and relaxing, surrounded by beautiful nature and stunning sea views. And you can take a walk or ride a bike around the island

The pool and sauna area was a highlight, perfect for unwinding. The food was fantastic too: great variety, top quality, and everything tasted amazing.

It’s about a 15-minute scenic walk to the metro, and just a 10-minute ride to Helsinki city center, so it's peaceful but still really convenient. Such a gem!

We had an amazing stay with my family of 2 kids. We loved the warm pool, breakfast and stunning views! Such a well preserved 70s style! I would definitely recommend. There is a metro stop nearby (1.5 km?). Thanks!

Absolutely bliss!! The hotel itself is a work of art…well preserved 70s architecture and wonderfully renovated. Because it’s on an island and almost all the windows face the sea and forest away from the city, you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere. It took me 10min by bus from city centre, it’s very accessible via public transport. The pool and sauna are almost always empty and I had an amazing time. The furniture in the rooms and lounge area is also very beautiful and era-appropriate. I was looking for a hotel close to Helsinki yet giving the remote/away-from-everything/close to nature feeling…this was exactly it! Some reviewers mentioned the breakfast selection being small, but I think this has been updated because there was quite a lot of options and food when I was here. All so delicious!! Will recommend to all my friends and family :)

Absolutely stunning place! The hotel is located on the isolated island, so no cars, no city noise. We had a simple room with a sea view, very clean and cosy. Every day at 10 p.m. we visited local swimming pool and sauna, usually there were no people inside and it was good, because the swimming pool is quite small. Breakfasts were nice: warm dishes (porridge, eggs), different kinds of meat, cheese, vegetables and fruits, juice, smoothies, coffee/tea, pastry, etc.
The atmosphere of the hotel is very Finnish and artistic. There are a lot of paintings on the walls, sculptures around and bookshelves with old books, which are worth seeing.

There was only one thing, which disturbed us: spiders. We had 3 days in the hotel (early August) and had no chance to sit on the terrace of the canteen, because chairs were in the spider nets every morning. Some of the doors, which lead to the yard, were also in the spider nets. The presence of the spider nets is totally understandable, the hotel is situated in the forest, but it would be better to get rid of them every morning, for example, to welcome guests to sit on the terrace and enjoy morning sun and breakfast. I am afraid of spiders and it was always comfortable for me to eat inside.

Our stay was fantastic, with a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The staff were friendly and welcomed us with smiles, making us feel very at home 😃.
