Reviews
The bed was amazing, the breakfast very nice (lots of choices, even for a vegetarian like me) and service was sooo great! ☺️
Staff was incredibly friendly, helped me so much and generally made it a memorable stay (and now I'm coming back in January 2025! I can't wait to stay at Hullu Poro again ❄️💕)
All in all an amazing hotel, located very central - but still close to the beautiful nature ☺️🇫🇮👍🏼
Also, it's very close to a supermarket/grocery store, and very very close to the slopes too.
With big regrets i relate the worst experience ever at "4*" (its a maximal 2* hotel) Hullu Poro hotel 26 december2023 - 2 januari 2024...In the first day of arriving we had to wait 5 hours in the reception for the 4pm checkin,at 4 they said rooms are not ready and wait another hour!At 5 we checked in both rooms (no bellboy for the bags and paid 3600€/person for the period of 7nights with charter plane included)and was very very cold inside (13 degrees celsius on my portable thermometer) and asked the reception what is going on (tired and cold we had to walk back to the reception because in the room its NO telephone to call room service, being 4*)They said will bring electric heaters for the rooms,we waited 3 hours and NOTHING (in the room the Ac was on maxim warm and blowing cold outside being -20 degrees)I personaly walked again to reception and asked whats going on with the heaters and a guy showed me a small heater like a toy.... "we found only 1,this here, you can take it in the room" (he didnt bother to bring it or come to the door and say "hey the heater its at reception".......i said to bring obligatory another one because we can not sleep and wash in a 13 degree room temperature middle of winter and he responded "we search one more" night came, they did not bring another one and i got a very bad cold sleeping in souch mess condition and coud not go next days to the trips at santa village, reindeers and husky because the sickness made me very very ill!!!after that cold night i heared the housekeeping on the colidor and asked them for serious heaters and the very kind girls in few minutes brought 2 good heaters and were very impressed that in the room is so cold.We pluged in the heaters and in my room when pressed on the tea cup to boil water for the medicine to take, the electricity in room went down....walked to reception and they send a very kind electrician guy that sad the fuse has fall because of big consumption of electric and when boiling water to make heaters off! After few hours at 8pm in uthe next room also blow fuse,i anounce at reception where they said electrician will come but nobody came till next day and we had to sleep in the heated room!!!In the new years eve on 31 after 5 days in the room sick, was my first day feeling better and out of the room...
Beds have very used matresses with hole in the middle.
Food is 2* quality, chef and personal there is good and make all the effort to prepare and be very best to the clients but hotel management dont buy them diversified and quality things to cook, almost always same.
Hotel looks very used on the walls, pillows have snots in the reception area and other places despite very high prices.
Only very respectable persons were the housekeeping ,electrician and restaurant personal.Reception people very uninterested in clients.
Rooms dont have even a Safe to keep your goods inside!Balconys were so full of untaken snow that when opened the door snow came inside.
TV had only few chanels visible, nothing with news or weather.
P.S. Big attention at the nearby ABC gas station,on 31 when i was no more sick,i put 50€ bill in the gas machine at the pump to fill snowmobile, amount was 18€ and gave me NO rest!!!!(and you must pay first before you fill, stupidest and illogical idea ever) I said that at the snowmobile rent park and response was "it gives no rest for cash"
Worst experiente ever this trip in Lapland and huge amount of money spend on problems, all starting with this hotel.
Hope my recension is helping also others that will come in this nice little city to have idea what to avoid.
God bless you.
We went half board. We are vegetarian so worried about lack of choice, we were pleased with the options. The food was actually really nice and exceeded our expectations especially after reading some of the other reviews.
The hotel rooms come with a kettle and fridge and are spacious enough to relax in. Our balcony view was stunning , looking up at the ski slope in Levi town. The hotel was in a great spot, 10 min walk to the slope and lots of shops and restaurants.
The only downfall was the TUI reps themselves. They weren't very friendly or helpful. The welcome meeting was useless , not sharing times for taster / Santa pickups location etc. we had to keep going to the TUI help desk to ask everything, the staff at the desk always seemed put out and moody, like they couldn't be bothered helping. The trips they were selling were very expensive at £500ish for 1.5hr husky ride (and fox / husky park) trip (family of 4). The trip was amazing but the same trip can be booked via tourist information in town at £350ish (next time we will book via the tourist information website before our trip), or I'd contact the husky park themselves directly next time and jump in a taxi.
The hotel entertainment was ok, the kids loved the daily 4pm arts and crafts session. The 7pm evening entertainment was ok, kids dances and stories . The Elf came on to tell a story and it was difficult to hear due to the awful background music that was on repeat, we had to leave at that point every night, we couldn't stand the constant loop of the same awful (and too loud) song.
The garla night was ok, we had to eat late, 8pm, we had to queue outside the restaurant wait to be let in , the other nights we ate at 5pm, 7om us too late especially if you have young children. The show only starts at 9pm, again we had to queue and again this was too late. The show itself was a bit boring , lots of slow songs, it needed to be more upbeat . The naughty elf dancing around in the audience was our highlight. The fireworks at 10 were ok, only a few went off but we got a good view from our balcony and the kids enjoyed them .
Overall great holiday just wouldn't book via TUI next time
