The room was clean, housekeeping did a good job.
The bed was comfortable, but the room was too hot. Air condition was regulated centrally. On a hot day it was running, but we still had 23-24°C in the room. On a colder day it was turned off completely, so we had to open the balcony door to get some cold air in. However the nearby waterfall is very noisy. Do not forget your earplugs.
The view from the balcony however is nice. Chairs to sit in the balcony were missing in our room, but could be available in other rooms.
The separate toilet is very small and once you enter it, you cannot close the door, unless you squeeze yourself between toilet and wall. I have added a photo.
Bathroom sinks and the tub have not been renovated.
Breakfast buffet is overpriced and small. Cheese, ham and bread were running low and not refilled in a 45 min span. Same held true for fruits. When we asked for croissants, we got 2 warm ones and a cold one which was taken back to the kitchen from the neighbouring table one minute earlier. I do not want good food to be dumped, but this is not really grand hotel style.
The employees were very friendly, nothing to complain about here. They all have to dress in white, which adds a bit to the fake 'grand' atmosphere.
In general the hotel does not live up to its ambitions. If it would be cheaper, I would have given 4 stars. It is not a bad place to stay, if you get a good price.
They gave us a tour of the rooms so we could decide if we'd want to stay there on our next visit. The rooms are nice: very charming with an amazing view.
All the rooms are being completely renovated, so expect the rooms to be clean and well kept.
