We intended to get a hotel in the old city, but all were full. Instead we chose the Antinea, which backs on to St Malo's magnificent beach, which was even more enjoyable than the old city. Rooms are very comfortable, with an enormous bathroom, and the restaurant is of high quality. Rather bizarrely, the breakfast is truly second-rate (clearly the restaurant chef is not involved with that); eggs, both scrambled and hard-boiled (!!) were awful, and the German (!) muesli on offer was practically inedible.

I liked the room, the location and the friendliness and professionalism of the receptionist: we muddled along between us with my rusty French and she helped me along with a few words of English! The room was tastefully decorated and felt very calming and had everything I needed for a couple of nights' stay. The bathroom was clean and the shower powerful and hot. The highlight was of course the sea view. I treated myself to this room even though it was expensive and felt it was worth every penny to see the sea roll in and out each night and morning. It was very special to watch the waves rolling over the edge of the pavement so close to the hotel whilst having breakfast. I had no idea beforehand that the tidal range was so extensive in St Malo so booking so this was a real bonus.

We were disappointed with this hotel. The 4-night room that we had paid for was so small, not good value for money. We were offered another in the next-door hotel, Le Jersey, it was bigger but by not much and cost us an extra €20/night. It was like staying in a camper van, very long but it did have a balcony.
The Wi-Fi was poor. Parking cost €2/night.
Make sure you had paid for the breakfast (I thought, by mistake I had!), which was good - so it should be at €120 for the stay!
We felt ripped off at €190/night.

The hotel was lovely and the staff were all very helpful and anxious to please. Excellent food by the chef which we enjoyed more than once. We will be back next year with our family.

we stayed for two nights and the room, dinning room and breakfast were perfectly adequate for us. Good position and on site limited parking with helpful and welcoming staff.

Great location, super kind staff. The rooms are lovely, especially the ones overlooking the sea. Excellent restaurant.

Highly recommended. The views from the rooms facing the sea are incredible, there is just a small pedestrian promenade between you and the beach. Clean, comfortable room, friendly staff and good food both at breakfast and in the hotel restaurant.
