La Bastide de Saint Tropez in St. Tropez

We stayed at this hotel for six nights and spent a considerable amount of money, but unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. While the setting is undeniably beautiful, the customer service was consistently poor. We were misled by staff at nearly every turn, and there was a clear lack of coordination and professionalism throughout our stay. The food was both overpriced and subpar — truly disappointing for a property that markets itself as high-end. What was most frustrating, however, was the attitude of management. There was no sense of hospitality or appreciation for their guests. When you’re paying this kind of money, you expect not only quality but basic courtesy. Sadly, we encountered neither. This could be a truly special destination, but until the staff and leadership understand what hospitality actually means, I would not recommend it.

I booked a Junior Suite at €1500 a night. It is truly the worst hotel experience we have ever had. The room is the size of a cupboard. The suite is described on the hotel's website as the following: “A stunning junior suite, where the bedroom opens harmoniously onto a lounge area.” It is accompanied by a photo of a room with a large linen sofa and a coffee table in a separate living room to the bedroom. Please see attached a photo of the room we were given for comparison. The two chairs in my photo represent the living room described on their website. Not only that, but the hotel and the room are extremely dated and not comparable to other hotels we have stayed in at the same price range in St Tropez. The hotel manager was completely unsympathetic and offered no resolution as the hotel was fully booked, so we could not be moved. I appreciate a small renovation has been done recently but it is not of a sufficient standard for the price. The walls are very thin and we have children in the next room screaming next to us and can hear their every movement including plugs being pulled in and out of the wall our bed is against.
