Beautiful renovation in the heart of Valenciennes. High quality hotel in every aspect. The standard rooms are very modest in size but are okay. Breakfast was good although the small food area got very busy at peak time. The downstairs spa and pool is also stunning.

It was a great stay and the property is obviously beautiful. My only issue is I wish they had informed us that we would be getting an accessible room before assigning it to us. It’s not a major issue, but it’s just better etiquette to be informed in advance. We did not want to be a hassle so did not bother making a big deal out of it.

The hotel rooms are nice - the spa is nice too. The pool area is beautiful architecture wise … However the water is a bit cold. We had a massage (duo) and it was very relaxing. The sauna is ok too. The steam sauna needed more steam. In general the experience is good - the place is amazing in beauty. What needs to be improved is the food! We have been here four times and the lounge food could be better...

Second time in this castle. A beautiful hotel. When booking, all wishes were taken into account. We added room decoration, as discussed. The two-level suites are very impressive in their beauty. You don’t want to stay here unless you have to. Very friendly service during Dour Festival: the cleaning ladies served us breakfast after the official hours. It’s in the middle of nowhere.

A few drawbacks regarding cleanliness and the mattress where you can really feel the springs, otherwise overall not bad.

Stayed here a few times. The bar is surprisingly cheap compared to most of the places . The rooms have everything you would expect accept the plug sockets are a long way from the bed. The staff were all very friendly.

A great place to stay, quirky art decorations by the artist owner, you cant walk through any room without stopping and exploring. Very well priced. We were made to feel really welcome. Will definately go back! Plenty of parking and lovely gardens to explore too.

It is quite even if it is located close to the highway. The pool is brilliant and our room was freshly renovated. Others are in the way to be.

Ideal for cycling tourism (Paris-Roubaix) A very special hotel with a good location by the train station. Very quiet city and not ideal as a tourist as many restaurants are closed on Sundays.

For the price the room and facilities were great. The room was large with an adjoining bathroom which had a separate toilet. The bathroom was huge with a double sink. Very well-located hotel near the city center and Valenciennes train station. The spacious room. The only downside is that the mattress isn't at all comfortable; you can feel the iron when you sleep on it. Because of this, we had to change rooms after one night because the iron we felt on the mattress prevented us from sleeping properly.

This hotel is good for spending a night but no more the lady at reception is not very friendly 

French B&B not so good as in Germany. This B&B did not live up to our expectations. We have stayed at several B&B in Germany and expected the same standard in France. Unfortunately this hotel fell short - particularly on cleanliness. I will give other French B&B a try, but I'm now wary.

Some of the group struggled with the rooms being too hot and could not seem to adjust. no servicing of rooms while we were there but maybe this is the normal arrangement? The place is very central. Rooms are OK. I had problem from shiwer ceiling dueing my stay there was water droping. Pillows are not comfy. Room size is good. Other issue: breakfast is good but very rapidly finish some items. And not renewed. Stuffs are very polite dont expect advanced English.

The hotel staff was really nice, the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. We had a sofa in the bathroom which is funny, but a cool addition. The breakfast served was nice as well, having multiple choices of cuisine.

Location is great with square, shops and restaurant close by. Easy to find. Without asking, we were given garaging for our motorcycle.

The highlights of this hotel are the service and central location. The garden is delightful in summer, ita right across form the beautiful cathedral, and the extensive range of the services are 24hours. Great breakfast with cheese, rolls, yogurt, pastries, coffee and juice. I guess the 2 star rating comes from the rather tired decor and basic rooms. Only criticism is the 'Brit' soap in the bathroom...

Perfect for a short stay. The accomodation is somewhat older, but clean and price/quality is definitely ok. Small negative aspect: the receptionist smokes, so the entrance hall smells likewise.

Good and flexible staff, only a bit sad you’re not allowed to sit in their beautiful interior garden terrace, reserved for their hotel guests. Their street terrace is ok and lies in the shadow from 18:00 onwards.

5 star for the restaurant. I liked the French cuisine, friendly staff and amicable chef. I had the fried pigs ear as main dish and this one was very special (but to be honest the chef warned me twice). Atmosphere (medieval building) is great. 3 star for the Hotel. Due to the old building a bit noisy and the rooms are outdated.

Everything was pretty good, except it too quite sometime to get the check paid. That's Europe for you. The food was Very Good, the service was very good. Keep in mind, this restaurant is part of a hotel, so it's not a free standing 4 star restaurant.

Easy to find on foot, set meal was pretty good. Whiskey selection is great. Just a couple of minutes from the train station. Would recommend for a group meal
