The downstairs spa and pool is also stunning

The hotel rooms are nice - the spa is nice too. The pool area is beautiful architecture wise … However the water is a bit cold. We had a massage (duo) and it was very relaxing. The steam sauna needed more steam

When booking, all wishes were taken into account. We added room decoration, as discussed. The two-level suites are very impressive in their beauty. The spa is just superb! Especially the royal signature massage

The wife was in seventh heaven. Simply Paradise! Special respect to you, Manel! Dinner in an Italian restaurant is beyond praise! Thank you, chefs. It was a holiday of the stomach)

Really - how hard is it to have an interesting menu? The service is a bit slow - they need more help - more waiters to be able to cover the whole area one has to wait A LOT to get attended … the menu is disappointing in taste and options! The bistro was terrible - for the price the food needs improvement ASAP! Such beautiful location should have a menu and food level to match

My suggestion to the management would be to review the menu and make it pop! They would get 5 stars if it wasn’t for the food! PS: the waiter solved our problem very nicely and he was very attentive and understood that the food did not come out properly as it should have (we had a quality issue with the cesar salad)

Don’t be put off by the outward appearance and location in an industrial area. This hotel has really comfy clean rooms, great nights sleep. Great value for an overnight stopover

the window did not close, poor soundproofing all outside noises are audible. Breakfast of choice unfortunately a coach of Germans came to have their breakfast at the same time so everything left very quickly

booked a room last minute, we didn't have high expectations but the room was great for a short stay! beds slept well and fairly modern room! the only thing was that the mirror at the door was dirty but otherwise a good room!

Friendly hotel Nice hotel, small swimming pool, games for kids, friendly staff and good beds. One of the better hotels we've stayed at on the road.

It is quite even if it is located close to the highway. The pool is brilliant and our room was freshly renovated. Others are in the way to be.

July 2023 The best reception we have had in the last ten hotels we have recently stayed at. Family friendly. Nothing negative to report.

Renovated and very clean hotel. Large comfortable bed, spacious bedroom. Very good quality breakfast, warm welcome. Quite reasonable price.

Three stars only because the room was realy just made for sleep and nothing else. Not bad for the money, but does not deserve more.

Thieri the chef patron was there to explain the menu, and throughout the meal. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and we felt really well looked after. One big comfort blanket from start finish!

A hotel originally built in the 1500s obviously has lots of character. It's fairly basic, but the rooms are large, clean, and comfortable. Staff is excellent... And the food is even better!

the staff were very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The regional food was delicious and unusual, carefully prepared with generous portions

I liked the French cuisine, friendly staff and amicable chef. I had the fried pigs ear as main dish and this one was very special (but to be honest the chef warned me twice). Atmosphere (medieval building) is great

Good and flexible staff, only a bit sad you’re not allowed to sit in their beautiful interior garden terrace, reserved for their hotel guests. Their street terrace is ok and lies in the shadow from 18:00 onwards.

Easy to find on foot, set meal was pretty good. Whiskey selection is great. Just a couple of minutes from the train station. Would recommend for a group meal

Everything was pretty good, except it too quite sometime to get the check paid. The food was Very Good, the service was very good

Keep in mind, this restaurant is part of a hotel, so it's not a free standing 4 star restaurant

Dream my little dream Une maison bourgeoise dont le décor, original, mixe avec beaucoup de goût l'ancien et le contemporain. Je reviendrai sans hésiter en famille ou pour affaires dès mon prochain séjour à Valenciennes

A great place to stay, quirky art decorations by the artist owner, you cant walk through any room without stopping and exploring. We were made to feel really welcome

Will definately go back! Plenty of parking and lovely gardens to explore too

It's far enough from the centre of Valenciennes to necessitate a drive in for a restaurant in the evening (although a tram stop is outside the door), but we got an excellent and helpful recommendation for dinner in town (at L'escargot) from our host on the night

Only a couple of minor drawbacks - we'd asked to dine in (which appears to be an optional service) but this couldn't be confirmed when booking (a few months in advance admittedly), and it turned out to be unavailable on arrival (the host was I think away)

A one night stay, a couple of hours' drive into France from the Tunnel. Beautiful period house from the outside, very eclectic and quirky on the inside (and a surprisingly lovely long garden for a built up area)
