Beautiful renovation in the heart of Valenciennes. High quality hotel in every aspect. The standard rooms are very modest in size but are okay. Breakfast was good although the small food area got very busy at peak time. The downstairs spa and pool is also stunning.

It was a great stay and the property is obviously beautiful. My only issue is I wish they had informed us that we would be getting an accessible room before assigning it to us. It’s not a major issue, but it’s just better etiquette to be informed in advance. We did not want to be a hassle so did not bother making a big deal out of it.

Which is the most incredibly remodelled airbnb I've ever stayed in. All the detailed trims are impeccable. There's a beautiful sauna and a comfortable jetted tub. There are three huge TVs to watch Netflix or prime video or YouTube. Beds arer super comfortable

Good hotel to stay in Lille close to the train station and the city center. Rooms are clean and staff is very friendly. Restaurant is good and you can eat at your room during the curfew. You can also order a breakfast that will be delivered at your room in the morning.

Rooms are tiny, toilet brush in the toilet would be a nice asset!

Hotel is in a very good location for Lille-Europe station, we had a high floor room and no noise issues which was great. The room did have a faint smell of smoke and the bathroom had a weird mildew smell, the room is definitely due for a refurb and the sheets were very warm over night, they felt quite synthetic (not saying they need Egyptian cotton 😋) Overall fine for a 1 night stay but wouldn't return

Directly across from the opera house, Hotel Carlton is a gem in the center of Lille. It’s a historical building, having been damaged and rebuilt after both world wars. This place has hosted royalty. We were assigned an accessible junior suite though we didn't request an accessible room.. The bathroom was half finished and the wiring was not completed with the switches for the separate toilet and bath located in the doorway. Friendly staff, nice location. Sound insulation extremely poor, you’re literally sleeping on busy streets even wearing earplugs. Sleeping for 6+ hours is impossible. And I don’t know why Trip.com charges 27GBP per person breakfast, definitely don’t worth it.

The breakfast was rich, the food in the freezer was free (5 bottles of drinks), and a piece of chocolate was given. The toiletries were from L'Occitane, the room was very clean, and the view outside the window was also very good. I was very satisfied and I would choose this hotel again next time I go on a business trip.

We stayed here for one night. The Hôtel Mercure team gave homely hospitality in a sleek modern hotel. Comfortable bed, high quality bed linen and the best towels. Brilliantly designed rooms. Everything from the fresh high quality breakfast ingredients to the truly powerful shower made the whole experience one of my treasured memories. Will definitely be back.

The room was as expected but breakfast was very disappointing. They had set the buffet like a kitchen so guests could feel at home. A nice idea sure, but it was nothing like my kitchen and so I skipped breakfast. I do not expect a hotel to be my house and I was expecting to be attended to so I could get on with work.

Very good hotel and staff. Near everything (metro, train, shooping, city center). Staff very responsive and willing to help you all the time, great amenities in the room. The only con is the acoustic isolation that allow some noises from neighbour rooms and from the hallway.

We booked a one night stay at this hotel in August. The room was clean and quite spacious. There is a parking garage right next to the hotel which was very convenient (we paid 15 EUR for 30 hours of parking). The location is amazing, you walk right into the old city center of Lille. Right next to the city centre (Grand plaza)! Lovely old style decor and furniture, even inside the rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. The roof top bar had a wonderful selection of cocktails and a great view of the Grand Place.

The rooms are spacious and very tastefully put together. When stepping out of the Hotel, you are just where you’d want to be for starting to explore the city. The rooftop bar has nothing to offer besides the view, understaffed and the staff that are there are either full of themselves or untrained. Edit 14. September 2024: Same experience with the bar, left after 15 minutes without being served

Great value. Excellent location and staffs are super friendly and welcoming. It's not a modern hotel by any means but the room was spacious and comfortable. Can't stress how good the location is. You are within 500m of a laundromat, grocery stores, dozens of restaurants, cafes, shopping mall, etc etc. We were able to walk to the hotel from the train station as well.

This hotel has zero soundproofing. The front desk called to complain that my kids were being too loud in the middle of the day. And then, we had to listen to loud partying and people in the streets for all hours of the night. The rooms are old. The front desk guy was nice and helpful and the location is great if you want to be right in the middle of it all.

Lovely square to eat and drink on. Made special while we were there in October 2021 because of the lighting on the buildings. Could still drink outside even this late in the year. Some places have heaters. The hotel is great for a few nights stay. Fantastic location right in the centre of things.
