Mercure Versailles Chateau in Versailles

While the room itself was clean, my experience at Hotel Mercure in Versailles was deeply disappointing and unacceptable.

First of all, my room key card was somehow misused, and the hotel staff offered no explanation or help. Instead of showing concern or professionalism, the staff were incredibly rude and unwelcoming throughout my stay.

What shocked me the most was that I was falsely accused of smoking in the room — even though the room was clearly equipped with a smoke detector and I do not smoke. There was absolutely no smell or sign of smoke, yet the staff insisted and treated me with suspicion rather than respect. It felt like they were trying to find an excuse to blame the guest for something that never happened.

Being treated like a liar by hotel staff is unacceptable, especially when I had done nothing wrong. This kind of behavior is not only unprofessional but also extremely disrespectful.

I will never stay at this hotel again, and I strongly advise others to look elsewhere. This is not the service you expect from a hotel that claims to be 4-star.

The hotel location is nice and the room is comfortable, however I have complained many times about the empty water bottles they provide and how dirty they were from the inside but have not seen any serious action from the staff. We ended up buying our own water from the grocery shop.

I arrived at the hotel at around 11pm. After checking in and going to the room, I found that the door card socket was broken and there was no electricity in the room. The traces of maintenance during the day and the glue were not dry yet. The front desk had to try various things, and finally they got a roll of tape to cover it. During this time, a guest came in and out, came back and left again. I asked if I could be given another room, but I was told that they were all fully booked. After nearly an hour of waiting, they told me to just forget it and move to another room, 217 or 405. *******, it was already the middle of the night and they made me wait for so long, and finally they told me to just move to another room! ***, what have you done so far! ! Rubbish! ! No integrity at all! !
