Hotel Nostos in Afitos

This hotel was recommended to us by friends. We were looking for a relaxing week in the sun, somewhere comfortable and clean with good service. Firstly, the whole pool area is likely one of the best we have experienced in a holiday abroad. There is plenty of space, different areas and a few little nooks. The pool was clean and it was nice to have a jacuzzi style pool and a smaller infinity style pool too. As always, it suffers from ‘Sun lounger claiming’ which just infuriates me; I’m sure I am not alone. Maybe consider a way to have this not be allowed…. The whole grounds are very well maintained. We liked the bar area and it was a comfortable place to sit. The cocktail making was vastly different depending who was tending the bar. We had a couple of lunchtime snacks and one evening meal and thoroughly enjoyed these. The service is efficient and friendly and it is not over priced. The staff were encountered all worked extremely hard. Our room was cleaned well (although the glasses and cups were never cleaned throughout our stay) and the staff were friendly. The beds were comfortable and the pillows better than most (and I am particular) There is plenty of wardrobe space with shelves and enough drawers. It was nice to have a balcony but the large tree immediately outside of our room (212) obscured our view a fair bit and the chairs are not that comfortable. Our patio door did not lock securely, fortunately we were not overly concerned that the area presented a problem in that respect. The bedside cabinets are showing signs of wear and the curtains had stains on them. The bathroom was adequate, it has a very small shower cubicle and low water pressure. The air conditioning works well. A taxi into nearby Afytos cost €6 one way and we never waited longer than ten minutes for one there or back. Adonis gave great directions on getting the bus from Kallithea to Pefkohori (€9 60 for two return tickets) We did not use the indoor pool but it looked very well maintained and provided a good alternative option and is also a quiet space. My biggest peeve was the roosting birds; there were occupied nests on almost every fire exit sign/lights around the hotel and they do make a mess. Most days we had a welcome pile of droppings right outside the door to our room, and some of the walls and stairways suffer from this too. All in all we enjoyed our week at Nostos. It’s probably a little too long of an airport transfer time (one hour twenty mins) for us to consider returning again and we were not at all keen on nearby Kalithea as a place to visit which was a shame as this meant the 25/30 minute walk to Afytos was our only option beyond the hotel

We loved our stay at Nostos. The pool area is excellent. The location is great, the view of the turquoise sea is lovely. We did get a taxi into Afytos many evenings which has many nice bars and restaurants. Some evening no taxis were available back but only about a 20 minutes walk. We ate at the hotel a lot too, the food is great. I especially enjoyed the moussaka. The house wine is nice and good value. We would have loved a local beer on draught as not a fan of Stella but bottles of Alpha available. The barbecue evening was brilliant. The hotel was always immaculate and clean. On one rainy day we used the indoor pool which was nice. Helen was always so helpful with any questions. We were able to have a late check out too which made things easier on our last day as we had a late flight. All staff were great. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Loved staying at the Nostos hotel :) The staff were all so friendly and welcoming with great wine recommendations! We came for 11 nights and had the best time. Rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels. Room was the perfect size for the two of us with great air conditioning. The pools were also really clean and the adults pool was a great depth! The breakfast was delicious everyday and the dinners we had there were amazing with great views. Taxis into Afytos town were only €6 or a short walk. The nearest beach was around a 15 minute walk and sunbeds were free if you brought a drink at the bar :) Would love to come back, thank you for having us Nostos xx

My first visit and it did not disappoint. The hotel is just beautiful. Room was bright, modern, with comfortable beds, and lovely balcony. The pool area is amazing. So many places to sit, sun worship or cool off in the shade and that view!!! Just stunning. We went half board and the food was great. Everything well cooked and beautifully presented and the staff are just delightful, so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. If I have one criticism it would be the size of the shower cubicle in the bathroom. If you are anything more than slim-average you’ll struggle to get in and out and there is hardly room to move let alone bend down. But it’s a struggle I’ll willingly face to return to such a wonderful hotel.

Went with 2 friends for big birthdays Absolutely amazing hotel, beautiful setting and high spec amenities. Couldn’t fault anything at all from arrival to leaving we were welcomed with open arms. The rooms are spacious clean and set out well, aircon worked great which is always a bonus. The pools and pool area are superb and have a great layout with sun-beds and day beds spotted around both in the sun and in the shaded area too. The breakfast was always hot and had a good selection the drinks and food were also good and can definitely recommend the stuffed peppers ( omg ) The views from the terrace are stunning and the sunrise is a must if you like this type of thing. The town of Afitos is a stroll away as is Kallithea with some lovely shops, bars and restaurants. I am definitely coming back and would feel safe as a solo traveller this time 😊

Beautiful hotel with the most friendliest staff they all go above and beyond. The hotels is immaculate. Food was beautiful all home cooked. Helen is so helpful. We have booked again to come next year would say this hotel is perfect for couples etc not a lot in the area for children.

We returned to Nostos for our second visit. And we weren't disappointed. When you arrive you are greeted by the wonderful staff, with smiling faces and taking the cases away. From there it's just perfect, the comfortable beds, in rooms which are spotlessly clean. The food at the Nostos is wonderful, with specialities a couple of times a week. There are a selection of pools to cool in and beautiful grounds to relax in. There are 2 villages within walking distance Afitos and Kallithea, where you can find the supermarket and the pharmacy. There's just a feeling at Nostos, which if it gets under your skin you'll return again and again.

Fantastic family run hotel situated within a 5 minute walk of Kalithea and 25 minute walk from the centre of Aftios. The hotel staff are really friendly and the grounds are kept immaculately clean. This hotel is ideal for couples who are looking for a relaxing quieter holiday. It also has a lot of repeat customers due to the uniqueness of the hotel. The homemade food is excellent and very reasonably priced, along with a large variety of drinks (Stella on tap) and local bottled beers. A large variety of cocktails, wines and spirits are also available. There is also a small cove accessing the sea which can be navigated using some wooden steps, however be prepared to walk back up a steel hill. We will definitely return at some point.

Amazing hotel, should honestly be 5 stars. Everything was perfect, food was amazing and staff were so friendly. Location and views were stunning. On the smaller side but preferred this as it feels more personal, staff remember your usual drinks and are very chatty. We went as a younger couple and it was perfect, lots to do around the hotel too and the staff were helpful in recommending restaurants and activities. Would 100% visit again!! We also noticed a lot of guests had previously been and had come back, not surprised it’s a lovely lovely hotel.
