Koukounaria Hotel & Suites

My wife and I had a very nice staya at t the Koukounaria Hotel & Suites. We stayed 6 night in june 2025 with halfboard option and we found this was the best accomodation for us sice we went around Zante all day and we fooud confortable to have dinner at the hotel. All the hotel structures are extrmely clean, the pool is fantastic as well as the area around it. Breakfast is a real gourmet experience sitting in in front of the pool. For dinner they offer 3-4 options in the menu and they are always well balanced, thus we tried almost everything and never had issues with digestion. Rooms are confortable and they have a balcony and frigidaire. People at the hotel have been very kind of us and we'd like to thanks Ruth at the reception for her help along our stay. Definitively Zante is wonderful island and Koukounaria Hotel & Suites is the ideal solution in the middle of the island.

Koukouaria 4* hotel .The room we we booked was a superior suite , it was a really nice ( large ) apartment with a wrap around balcony . It was superior and spacious. The walkway from the reception to the pool are paving stones which some need replaced ( possible trip hazard) The steps to the superior suites also could do with some attention. The jet2 bus that brought ourselves from the airport could not get to the hotel and dropped ourselves off on the road so it’s approx 50/60m pushing your suitcases up a incline to the hotel , okay if your fit but may affect others with walking issues. . The pool was large along with two smaller pools and well maintained except some of the wooden style sunbeds has seen better days Breakfast was the usual fare of continental and fried food , along with fruits an pastries , the Greek yogurt an honey was a great way to start the day .We ate a couple of times by the pool and the food reasonably priced and very tasty, but in my view the draft beer at € 6 a pint was overly priced . What was not 4* was the poolside toilets ,they do really need refurbished/ renewed . Finally the staff are a credit to the hotel , friendly and helpful . Lastly and you need to know this because the hotel is classed as a 4* the Greek tax is €10 per room per night

Great location into alykes and the beach with two lovely little supermarkets on the door step, breakfast ok basic not 4 star and no fresh fruit, rooms ok but no drawers, clean towels very hard and lots of trip hazards, only an area to hang clothes, bathroom sink odd, great Mountain View’s from rooms 121 but patio furniture uncomfortable and needs replacing. Very noisy from cockerel constantly screeching take ear plugs if a light sleeper, pool great (would Expect pool towels for 4 star but had to bring own) good snack bar at pool and reasonable priced, hotel just lacked something, definitely not 4 star none of the usual Greek charm on arrival no welcome drink or advice normally which we have received in our previous stays in Alykes maybe because not a family run place like previous stay Zion the area - would we return probably if a really good deal came up, shame because it really could be such a lovely hotel in a great location.

Just had the most amazing week in this hotel.
Slight issue with the air-con on the first day but sorted on the second day. We arrived too late to get it sorted out on the day of our arrival.
The staff were very friendly and help full.
We only booked on Bed & Breakfast but we did have a couple of evening meals in the restaurant. Food was excellent and not expensive.
Location - just a short walk down to the crossroads where you can find really good restaurants (Relax & Fidelio) and a stop of at the Iris bar for a nightcap on your way back.
Just 10 minutes from the beach.
Would stay here again.

We visited the Koukounaria 21 - 28th September 2024 as a couple. We had room S13 which was ground floor by the hotel entrance. The hotel was vey clean, quiet and pleasant. We found the room to be spacious and very well cleaned daily. The hotel staff were pleasant and very accommodating. On arrival we had to pay (in Euro's cash) a tax of E 49 equating to E7 per night. Why the UK do not do this ! We went for B&B option as we wanted to taste the local cuisine and believe we made the right choice. The breakfast at the hotel was served until 10:30 and was lovely and plentiful in its choice. There were snacks and meals available throughout the day. The pool is large, clean and safe with 3m depth in the deep area if you wanted to dive in safely. The pool area was quiet and surrounded by beautiful scenery. The wi fi was good but maybe because the hotel was quiet at this time of year, however it worked well everywhere during our stay. Weather was great the entire time and we wore nothing but swimwear the entire time and evenings shorts and T shirts. There were mosquitos so take what ever works best for you. A 5 minutes walk down the hill past a bar (Iris bar great fun) and 2x shops you reach the small centre with several bars, restaurants and shops. Enough to occupy for 4 days and the restaurants are amazing. A special shout out to Piccadilly were the food was exceptional. That said the other restaurants were amazing along with desert shops and bars. A further 2 minutes is the most amazing beach with soft sand, clear waters and low depth so you can walk for quite some way. The water was calm, clean and warm with some fish that will come and take bread from you. We had some lovely walks around the area. The beach had a bar named BUCA which had amazing food, drinks and sun loungers managed by Kevin. they brought food and drinks to you and it was all lovely and nice to go back in the evening for drinks. Only 10 minutes walk there is a larger town with many more bars and restaurants. Its ok walk but back when its dark with narrow roads and no footpath we opted for horse and carriage at E 20. There are taxis etc and this is much busier in the evening. We also hired a quad bike for E40 which was amazing to see the island and go exploring to see some amazing sights and beaches. We still felt the one by us was the best. Checkout is 10:00 am and quite expensive to extend. There is however showers under reception and a separate room by the pool and the hotel will provide towels so I would advise you save your money. In conclusion an amazing hotel, great hotel, well located and amazing food and drink with great weather. The weekend we were going bars were closing and some already had at end of season so I would not consider going much if any later in the year. Tips - 1) Women advised to take hairdryer as the ones in the room are not the best. 2) take your own towels for the pool ad beach. 3) TV in room is poor so if you want to watch something or listen

Another great holiday at this hotel s32 lovely room amazing view's professional staff, spotlessly clean with a great breakfast, weather fabulous hope to see you all again next year for another birthday,don't know how to top this year's stay!

Nice and big swimming pool. Quiet location away from hustle and bustle. Good breakfasts with lots of options, dinners however need improvement. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially Adiola, who was always going an extra mile to make our stay pleasant.

We enjoyed a week at this hotel. My son loved the pools and the ham toasties! Staff were friendly, it was a short walk down to the beach and the tv had internet so we could watch something whilst taking a break out of the hot sun! From our room we had a view of the sun rising each morning which was lovely to sit and watch ☀️

We are back after 5 years.We were upgraded to Family Room ( it was spacious), cleaned every day, safe available free of charge .The lady from the reception extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was the same each day but didn’t bother us .Overall great stay !
