Reviews
The hotel offers excellent facilities, impeccable cleanliness, and polite, helpful staff.
I highly recommend the spa — an experience truly worth trying, as it refreshes, relaxes, and detoxifies.Vasia at the reception is a top professional: courteous, attentive, and discreet. Konstantina, Maria, and Anastasia provide exceptionally high-level services.
I will definitely return especially for the spa!
Overall we had a great time and our aim was to relax so we didn't explore much of the area but spent most of our time at the hotel. I would agree with most other reviews that I'd struggle to call this a 5*, it's more like 4* and the only thing keeping it that high is the staff. There's a lot of potential here but Mitsis needs to make an investment and this could easily be one of their "Selection" properties.
We had a sea view room and the extra cost was worth it for the amazing view out over the sea, with mountains in the distance. The rear of the hotel also faces some pretty impressive mountains, but overlooks the car park.
The room itself was of a good standard, although not what I'd class as modern. It was very comfortable though and spacious with a nice balcony. We had no issues with the room and the only noise we heard was from people walking in the corridor and talking. We slept really well on most nights and woke up feeling refreshed.
The food was delicious and seemed to be high quality. There wasn't a lot of variety from day to day though but there were enough options to pick and choose. Service in the main restaurant was always nice, polite and efficient. We tried the a la carte fish restaurant and the service from Christos there was amazing. I was surprised though, that as a specialty fish restaurant literally metres from the sea, all the fish is actually frozen and not fresh. At least on the all inclusive menu. It was still tasty though so credit to the chef for that.
The beach bar was always good and the service there was excellent. The limited menu, especially for snacks was a bit of a letdown though. Only very basic toasted sandwiches and ice cream available.
We also tried the spa facilities including a fantastic couples massage and separate facial treatments. These are fairly pricey but totally worth it. The indoor pools are also really good and usually quiet, but you do have to reserve a time with the spa reception.
So, some areas for improvement from my perspective:
Service is slow around the pool, as there's usually only 2 people working, not great during busy periods.
All inclusive feels like you've booked a lower standard and priority/quality goes to those paying for food & drink and options are limited for drinks and snacks.
There seems to be a new arrival of group tours or conferences every day. So it was pretty busy most of the time and despite the rules, sunbeds were reserved early each morning.
The tour to Lichadonisia we booked through the Mitsis app didn't provide much detail and we had to ask reception. We were also only able to book it for a 12pm departure, and ended up on a boat with a coachload of pensioners. By the time we got to the island and the beach, it was packed with nowhere to sit, unless you want direct, midday sun. I wouldn't do this tour again honestly. Take a private tour and go to one of the almost empty beaches instead.
Would I recommend the Mitsis Galini? Yes, if you set your expectations accordingly. It's not your usual tourist destination so you'll see a more authentic Greece which we liked. There's not much to do, maybe a week is too long and a couple of days would have sufficed.
In conclusion i would recommend it for relaxation if you find it at a reasonable price.
I’m truly grateful for their support it made the moment extra special. Having such kind and thoughtful people is a real asset to the Hotel.
