Hotel Rene

A real gem of a hotel - very friendly and relaxed family run hotel. Spotlessly clean, very quiet but in a fabulous location - yes, there is a steep hill to walk off your meal in the tavernas!!! And the pay off is an amazing sea view from all the rooms! Lovely bar and snack bar and Thai food was amazing. Would definitely recommend.

Myself and a friend stayed at Hotel Rene on 5th and 6th May. We had a really enjoyable stay there. Fantastic views from the hotel over Skiathos Town and the Bay. The rooms were of a good standard and spotlessly clean. All staff were very friendly and hospitable. Swimming pool was lovely as well. We had one evening meal there. The Thai Food was amazing. The hotel is in an elevated position, hence quite a steep climb so bear this in mind! I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Just the most amazing hotel. Staff and owners so friendly and helpful, we got there really early in May and it felt like they opened the place for us, and they spoiled us! Lovely clean room high up over the bay with a great balcony...yes, there's a hill to walk up...it's part of the charm so you get to hear the owls at night and feel as though your in the mountains. It's quiet and tranquil and absolutely was the best place to relax. Good buffet breakfast, wonderful people. What more do you want?

We had a great week when we stayed here last year. Very friendly family run hotel, not too far from the airport and good value. Rooms very clean with fantastic views. Breakfast can be eaten inside the breakfast room or out on the large terrace. We mixed our stay, some days we stayed by the pool and enjoyed the wonderful views, or we walked down to the local beach which took about 10 minutes. There is a fairly steep hill back up to the hotel but for us it wasn't too much of a problem, we got used to it by the end of the week. It is only a 15 minute stroll into town which is all downhill, and a 10 Euro taxi ride back at the end of the evening. There are lots of restaurants, bars and shops to explore in the town to suit all tastes. We would recommend and would be happy to stay again next time we return to Skiathos.

The hotel is located in a beautiful location. I appreciated the possibility of free parking, there was always a free space. I also welcomed the entrance to the room directly from the terrace, where there was a beautiful view of the sea. There was a bar, a clean pool and friendly service all day. On the day of departure, we were provided with a room for luggage and a shower. Recommend.

It is only a 10 minute walk into town and even less to bus stop 4 which runs up and down the coast. We would not hesitate to stay here again when we return to Skiathos. If you are looking for a nice quiet holiday this is the place for you.Sea views from any area of the hotel,spotlessly clean and friendly owners. A great base for visiting the islands Only 10 minutes walk from the port with plenty of bars and restaraunts

Lovely hotel, very clean, good food, amazing views. Owners very helpful and would recommend. Hotel is on a hill so it’s pretty steep when walking back from the town centre. Lovely clean pool with plenty of sunbeds available. Skiatosis is a beautiful island to visit.

I along with 3 friends have just returned from the hotel Rene, we had read reviews before travelling and was reassured when we read the hotel was clean and friendly,in our opinion none of the reviews did this hotel justice, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left the family who own it bent over backwards to make our stay as good as possible, I honestly don’t know when they slept. Yes it is a steep hill to get to but we hired a car or used a taxi to save walking up it( but that’s cos we are ladies of a certain age) for anyone younger or fitter it wasn’t a problem,it was spotlessly clean and so friendly by our 2 nd day I think we knew everyone there and went out to everyone waving and talking to us , we even was invited to the owners little girl’s birthday party!!! Skiathos was such a beautiful place and hotel Rene was the cherry on the cake, we will definitely be back!!! N

Perfect little hotel for being close to everything! This hotel is a 10-15 minute walk into the old town and a 5 minute walk down to Megali Ammos beach where there is a few nice beach restaurants. There is a steep hill on the walk back as mentioned in other reviews, but if you are able then do not let this put you off as it is just the last bit up to the hotel that is steep and well worth it to be that close to the town and for the incredible view from the hotel rooms. The hotel itself is brilliant, there is a lovely quiet pool with stunning views and a pool bar serving a small selection of food/drinks perfect for during the day. The rooms are immaculate, perfectly sized with very good storage and plugs/mirrors in all the right places! Close to the airport and within walking distance of everything you need, it really was perfect for our first visit to Skiathos.
