Retro hotel with a beautiful huge garden right at the lakeside of the Balaton and one of the best views to the lake and to the hills of Tihany. If the buildings were renovated and refurbished, I would fully recommend it. The breakfast was okay, the dinner was quite delicious, maybe except the cakes. Nice service and kind personnel.

Really old fashioned and basic. Ideal for just staying the night and a quick dip in the lake but don't expect more. This used to be a really fancy hotel with quite a bit of features and activities but they were clearly abandoned.

When you put it in context everything was ok. Decent, simple, amenities not too new. But good breakfast and close to the lake. Nice parking lot. The only thing that bothered us was a total lack of information in at least English tempting e-menu for dinner? Sure, if you speak Hungarian. But the place was good overall.

Location is fantastic. It is only few minutes away from train station on foot, few minutes away from the beach, few minutes away from the restaurants. It has its own restaurant as well. Breakfast was ok. Room was really clean.

When we arrived again with our almost 2-year-old little girl, I was surprised that instead of last year’s small play corner, there was a larger playroom. Good place, close to Tihany on the South side of Balaton. Room ok with the frigde. Rich breakfast but everything was cold.

The stuff was very helpful and kind, it has great facilities, jakuzzi, table tennis and well equiped for children.

We were here only one night but received only positive emotions. The biggest pluses from us: 1) for the location: not far from the highway (it is easy to find this place + gas station on your way) 2) amazing air as the hotel is close to the lake 3) playground with trampoline and children's room with different games (just necessary when you are traveling with 3 children:)) 4) restaurant is open 16....

We spent Christmas at a hotel. The staff is very kind and helpful. The cleanliness of the room is fine. The food is very delicious. The organized programs were very good. (Concert, disco) The problem was that there was no lunch option at the hotel. Since other restaurants and shops were closed during the Christmas holidays, we did not have lunch for three days. Still, thank you for your hospitality

Very nice service, clean tidy environment, pleasant shady, spacious yard and beachfront. Value for money is perfect. There is a dog beach right on the beach next to the hotel, providing a real experience for both the owners and the dogs, and not least the other guests. SUPER!!!

The retro building from the outside hides a modern interior. The staff is kind and helpful. The buffet breakfast and dinner are excellent. All rooms have a terrace with a nice view of the lake. We are here for the second time this year, now with my sons and grandson who enjoys the place very much. My place is here next year.

Middle-aged couple I didn't like the fact that the dogs were allowed to enter the park, in many cases the dogs weren't even on a leash, they did their small and big things in the park. I was here for a mathematical psychology seminar, and we were very well taken care of at Jogar Hotel. The staff were friendly, helpful, and quite relaxed about having 35 students in the hotel, playing in the game room until late evening. We felt welcomed and treated well as guests. We spent 3 nights here, the place is absolutely fine! The pool is great, the breakfast was also absolutely good (several types of meats, cheese, vegetables, hot dogs, pastries). Very pleasant stay which can be definitely recommended. Very nice attentive owner. In the neighborhood there is a house of some noisier family (loud music till night) but nothing which closed window couldn't solve. Big apartement, quite location, good price, great building.

Really nice place with clean and beautiful rooms. There was no problem to add extra bed to room and the owner was very helpful. There is also a big yard with a ping-pong table, place for grill, basket and some space to play badminton or volleyball. Really enjoyed the stay there.

Very nice place. The beach is circa 400 meters away which is further than what you would expect from the adverts but the hotel pool makes up for it. The food was OK. They have a bowling alley which is nice. But not so nice if your room is above it. And I mean 2 floors above it. So ask for a room as far as possible from it.

Nice, friendly staff. The room is clean and nicely furnished. It is next to the railway, yet a quiet calm environment. If you have to write something negative, maybe the fact that the shower head holder is fixed cannot be adjusted. This is inconvenient for people of non-average height.

One of the best places to stay at Balaton. The staff is excellent and the owner is very freindly. The rooms are highly clean and are niceley renovated. The rooms are also equiped with air conditioning. And it also has wifi.

The lady who received was very kind, the room / bathroom clean and tidy. Unfortunately, TV didn’t catch a single transmitter, ants were at war everywhere 😁. WiFi is slow and intermittent.

Dear owner and staff welcome all guests. The rooms are nicely renovated, suitable for a peaceful rest, with air conditioning. Opposite the room, the restroom shower cabin was in clean and beautiful condition. The accommodation is not far from the beach, restaurant, shop, gift shops, train station.

The location is across from a private harbor and close to the beaches. It's an ok location. The hotel has plenty of parking. The room was not clean, the service was ok, and there were no mosquito nets on the windows, so many mosquitos around. We would recommend staying somewhere else. Not really a 4 star hotel. Many missing in room amenities. We had a room on 1st floor and had to carry up our luggage by stairs. Hotel had a musty smell. The room was large and spacious and there was a good variety for breakfast. The reception staff at front desk when we checked out was a pleasant and helpful lady. She answered many of our questions. Enough space for cars and free parking.

A wonderful smaller hotel, that invites you to relax and be present. It has a warm, sensuous atmosphere. Love is put into the details. The breakfast buffet is not a large machine like you see in big tourist hotels. On the other hand, there is a delicious breakfast menu selected with care and awareness. Good service. The cocoa machine was broken, and the waiter immediately made a homemeade hot chocolate...

Staff very nice, although we stopped just to have drinks. Lots of tables outside. The nearby road is not too loud. Well kept, quiet, fashionable, including the choice of the music (largely raeggae), not too loud.

This place was absolutely charming. Very old style, it felt a bit like traveling back in time. The town is quiet and peaceful at night. This was a last minute booking and the hostess was kind enough to come up in person to show us around. Highly recommend.

I lovin it. Host is so friendly and room is clean. I have been there lately at night but he waited for me for check-in. In a room have a lot of stuff that you need; towel, dishes, cutlery, pan, etc. In the morning you can walk to the end of hotel and see lake view! The location is close to attractions in Tihany, the love village. Unfortunately, I just spending a night. Never mine I will be back.

The hotel's best years are behind it and you can still feel the previous era here. A general renovation is recommended. There is no air conditioning in the rooms. Food average and with little choice. Nice service, there is a swimming pool in the basement, a billard, darts, etc.

The staff is kind and professional, as well as the reception. The hotel and the rooms are decently equipped, they were very attentive to cleanliness. We also liked the huge pool. With all that said we overlooked the defects such as the lack of AC, thefrequent noises from the highway/comuting train and for the not so well performing wifi. It's a good place to stay in, the food was good, personal friendly and pretty much everything you can ask for. Only thing I disliked was collapsing WiFi.

Been there for just one night on our way to Budapest. I wish we would have stayed longer!! The hotel is beautiful. The mens at the entrance are very friendly, they speak English. However, the people working in the restaurant barely understood the room number in English. The first day at dinner no one asked us for drinks, the second day at dinner the lady asked us for drink after we finished eating. The service in the restaurant could be much friendlier. There is a perfect hotel, the sauna is good, there is a separate sauna seance, they cook gently and the surroundings are beautiful.

I came here with my son and wife to spend a weekend away from the city. I couldn't expect more from a 3 star hotel. (Summer price is a little bit higher than winter...expectable). Rooms are good. It's a nice place, but nothing special. The prices are okay, it's cheap. So don't expect fancy things. The food relatively okay, the rooms are more or less clean. The shower, that's bad. The water smells for a minute, I don't know why. It has a Spa area, with sauna, aroma cabin, not tubs.

Stayed with young children in August. Air conditioned room with balcony, nice big garden the kids could run around in, although not much play equipment for small ones.
