3 and a half ⭐️
Good hotel that could be so much better.
Rooms are very dark and dated, the single bed was not very comfortable. Very clean.
Breakfast was good. Reception staff were quick and efficient.
Didn’t use the restaurant as there a a load of cheaper options nearby.
There is an underground carpark available to guests at the rear of the hotel. Spaces are a little tricky.

The hotel is located on a square right in the center of the city. I had a single room. It was very clean. The staff was very friendly ☺️ The only thing is that the breakfast is modest, but it depends on comparison. I really enjoyed my stay!

Lovely, clean hotel in the heart of the city. The breakfast was amazing with lots of variety. The ratatouille was absolutely delicious—kudos to the chef! 🫡

A hidden gem – both the hotel and the city
I only booked a night in Székesfehérvár because Budapest was too expensive – and I’m so glad I did. The Mercure is in a charming old building right at the entrance to the beautiful historic old town. The hotel itself is a bit old-school: small beds, but clean rooms. What really makes the difference is the outstanding breakfast, incredibly kind and attentive staff, and the amazing pillows (I need to find out where to buy them!).
The location couldn’t be better – step outside and you’re in the middle of a vibrant pedestrian zone full of cafés, bars, shops, and life.
The city has a rich history and a great atmosphere, but hardly any tourists – for the first time in Hungary, I heard Hungarian all around me, and I loved it (I love learning different languages, but 🇭🇺 is really difficult).
Both the hotel and the city are little treasures you might otherwise overlook. I’m happy I didn’t.

This is a good hotel for the location. The breakfast is good and the service was friendly. The rooms are dated and mine had a single bed. While I was ok with this some people might be put off.

At the reception we had a warm welcome, the staff was nice. We got the roomcards we head to the rooms. Evetything was nice and clean, the beds was confy for us.
At the morning the breakfast was good enough, everyone will find something for his taste.

The rooms are clean, easy to reach the hotel. There is a parking down of the hotel. The breakfast is complete, juste one remark there is no pancakes 😉

A beautiful building in the heart of the town near a small park and at the head of the main pedestrian street, where there are many cafe and bars. Some rooms despite billed as doubles are a bit cramped, so go for a third floor one if you like space. These are very nice rooms and have comfortable beds.
Reception was initially very helpful and charming, but as the eve wore on things got more difficult. As per the photo, the hostess tray was Spartan to say the least. Only one tea infusion, no milk and one coffee each ! When asked for English tea, the receptionist seemed confused and said there was breakfast in the morning. ( at breakfast there were many teas and milk ) so it would have been easy for her to get us some.
The only other thing that was a bit irksome, is that there is no lounge bar, which for such a big hotel was surprising, and a drink at 10pm was asking too much !
The breakfast of buffet style was very comprehensive and well presented.
Overall a nice stay with small issues.
