The restaurant in the hotel serves a range of meals, but I would definitely recommend trying some of the local dishes. The reception staff were excellent and very friendly

The breakfast is good, with a substantial selection, but I wouldn’t recommend the juice – there’s only one machine with a few options, and unfortunately, it seems the juices tend to ferment quickly

Nice place right in the middle of town. Our room had 2 beds pushed together, not sure about others. The bathroom is clean and has great pressure in the shower. Breakfast is included with good choices available

Only one disappointing moment is that you have to book in advance a parking place, if you are traveling by car, but this info is missing on the website of the hotel. Nevertheless I do recommend this hotel

I chose this place because I was very pleased the first time. This second time I was a bit disappointed with the cleanliness of the bathroom in the room we got. The room looked pretty old and neglected (dusty)

Breakfast exceeded our expectations, it was very tasty and we could choose from a variety of options. You can also buy tickets for the Bory Vár directly at the reception - definitely a place to visit when you're in town

Amazing experience in an authentic castle transformed in a hotel. With had the library loft, with lots of books and the interior looks impressive. The breakfast was delicious and diverse, including prosecco and fruits

Don't get to sleep in a 150 year old, renovated palace often. Take a tour of the palace, amazing. To bad they don't have the country of Canada in their reservation database. After 10 min just gave us our room key

After our 17 hours of flight it was a delight to spend our first day in this beautiful environment! Absolutely enchanting, peaceful and quiet! The staff of the hotel and the restaurant were amazing! Unfortunately the weather was terribly hot (went above 40 that day), but when we requested a fan in our room by the time we got back it was delivered

Beautiful accommodation with a short walk to the lake, food in the restaurant is first class. rooms are modern and well equipped, very comfortable indeed ! would very much recommend.

Cold water needs to be carried out because it starts with burning water, overheating in the wall. The air conditioning is quiet, strong, but cannot be started at night, only in the morning

Spent a night here following a trip around Hungary during the week of National Day (and en route to Lake Balaton) the location is good, a few mins drive from Lake Velence (walkable If you'd like) and very quiet

It's a lovely spa with polite staff and well equiped facilities, including (surprisingly) high quality 5-a-side pitch (adtroturf, rubber crumb) and clay tennis court + squash court (didn't see the squash court though though so can't comment too much on it)

Out of the Hungarian vacation time, the service was still very good. Each and every area are clean, everything is prepared for the children, even if they were only a few at this time. Food is fine with Hungarian dishes

The saunas are good, but the 'main' sauna is so small it can only fit a maximum of 12 people, and so if you want to go to the seance/infusion you have to get a ticket in advance hours beforehand

I got the hugest schnitzel I ever saw in the restaurant. There is a direct access to the lake, although the beach itself is rather small. The hotel is located at a closed, private territory, which is good

Once you find it, the property is located right next to the lake. There is a good bar and restaurant which has been recently renovated. We like the room for our family and we would come again.

We were on the free beach in Kenyes. The time and the water were excellent. You can get a delicious flame in the buffet, but you can also have ice cream. We had a lot of fun.

Best Balaton town, closest to Budapest

It is a very cozy settlement on the shores of Lake Balaton. It is cozy to walk along the beach all year round.

Great place to calm & chill during the summer. Hot out side and 22c degrees inside the water of Balaton at the end of July

The pension and the restaurant were very nice and excellently located with direct access to the beach

The lady (owner?) we met during breakfast was super nice: she offered to let us stay until the weather improved (we were travelling with motorbikes and it started raining the morning we left), lent us an umbrella to take a walk, and even broght us some oranges to take with us for our ride home!

This hotel is surprisingly super great both for adults and kids. The staff is extremely friendly, food is excellent, and the venue at the beach has also an amazing atmosphere and view. I couldn’t find anything negative

The view is breath-taking. Silent area, very nice after season is over. Swimming pool is very pleasant. The restaurant downstares is as good as any 5-star hotel restaurant in the capital.

Service at the restaurant could be better…long waiting time for drinks! Othervise we still love it…beachfront and the view are great. Kid programs also good.

Just visited relatives and had a dinner, but as I saw the hotel is perfect for families with kids. The room could be a little bigger. The food is at the highest level.

There was a company event taking place in the hotel that meant the lake side bar was closed to guests not part of this company event - quite poor in my opinion when you are a full paying hotel guest but a facility is closed to you in this way

We had a family gathering here that I liked a lot. The food offered was excellent. The restaurant, the conference room, the garden and even the rooms are spacious and nicely maintained

The very best thing is the location and the privat beach to Lake Balaton. You have to see the sunset from the hotel, you never gonna forget it

We are returnees to this hotel for various reasons. It is nice and quiet even in high season and has a private Balaton beach. The kitchen staff is very accommodating to requests, and other staff is also very helpful

Their private beach is nice as well, though open to the public, it is never crowded. Really great value for the money! My only complaint, is that the coffee at breakfast is really bad 😀

This hotel is a complete throw back, stay here and go back in time 30 years. The food is hearty, the staff friendly (I got to learn some Hungarian from one of the wait staff)

The train unfortunately goes close, but on the one hand it is natural in Balchin and on the other hand it was not overly disturbing. The guest is welcome to return here!

For families with children it is also a perfect choice, there is a swimming pool, small football field, sandpit, ping pong table and close to Lake Balaton

Very good location (Balaton Lake is only 100 m; hotel has its own beach at the Lake); delicious food (every day different dishes!); rooms are big enough, new, comfortable, clean (good view to the Balaton); wellness is average (except saunas, which are varied, you can choose from 5 types); Air conditioning is not settable by yourself (sometimes it was too cold in the room)

The cleanliness of the hotel was also good, and have no big complaints apart from that that cleaning ladies ignore the “do not disturb” door sign and enter no matter what

The food in the restaurant was good with plenty of options. However, the pack lunches were very poor and didn’t cater for everyone’s needs

The air conditioner did not work in the bedroom and the first night it was really hard to sleep in that heat. We complained, but there was no action taken. Second night we had a storm and it cooled down the bedroom a bit

Nice small hotel, staff has poor english what leads to misunderstanding, but in generally they are polite and helpful. In price are bikes and canoe so this is big highlight. Breakfast is simple but fresh

Family of 2+1 (11 years old) and we had a small apartment: 1 room with kitchenette and a separate bedroom. The rooms are nothing to write home about, but it was clean

We had a great time, Balcsi approx. It is 100 meters away. The apartment has a pool and jacuzzi. We will definitely go another time
