This is a family run 3 star hotel situated in Baveno on the shore of Lake Maggoire. We stayed here for a week and had breakfast and dinner each day. At the start of our stay I was wondering why only 3 stars? Initially I thought it should have the extra star. But as the week went on I can see why. Before I start went the few negatives I’ll start with the positives. Check in was fine and we had no issues. I found the staff friendly and efficient. Our room was basic, clean and roomy. We had a lake view which was impressive and a pleasure to wake up every morning. The air conditioning worked a treat as it was 30c some days we were there. The bathroom was clean and modern with a walk-in shower. Breakfast was average with fruit, cereal and eggs (boiled and fried) and pastries. Dinner each evening was either fish, chicken or various meats. Salad and veggies served on the side. There was a small bar with plenty of seating areas. There was a small outdoor pool and a sun terrace. The negatives. Talking to other guests our room was larger than most. The breakfast lacked variety and was predictable. Dinner was much the same and lacked imagination. The bar closed early (10:30/45pm). There was no entertainment of any kind. The road outside the hotel is very busy and can be noisy. The summarise, if you improve the quality, variety of food and employ an entrainment manager you could get your extra star. Baveno is stunningly beautiful but lacks evening entertainment.

And most importantly – the reason we left the hotel earlier. For the first time in our lives! The mattresses and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. We’ve never experienced anything worse. We simply couldn’t sleep there.
Our room was two-level. The bed on the upper floor was terrible. The kids’ mattresses downstairs seemed slightly better.
The lounge and restaurant areas are lovely – cozy and pleasant to be in.

This beautiful family run hotel has a 3 star grading, but I would give it 4 stars. Superb location on the waterfront overlooking Lake Maggiore, with beautifully maintained gardens with outdoor swimming pool. Being a traditional building, there was plenty of lounge space to relax in air conditioned rooms. The hotel is only 150 metres from the town centre, where you can get numerous boats to nearby islands and beyond. The whole staff are very friendly and cheerful at all times, particularly the dining room waiters and waitress, with great knowledge of English speaking. Breakfast has plenty of choice of good quality food, being self service it’s nice to sit outside in the garden with good access to the food area. The rooms are comfortable, we had a lovely walk-in shower, enough wardrobes and shelves for clothes etc. Air conditioning unit had easy controls and was extremely quiet. There is a good sized car park, there is a lift to all three floors. We would really recommend this hotel in a delightfully peaceful resort of Baveno, much more relaxing than its nearby larger and noisier neighbour of Stresa.

Nice location. Very friendly staff - even if we were quite late for the check-in we were welcomed in a very polite and nice manner. Room was ok - clean, bathroom also very clean. Breakfast options ok. Overall - a very nice place to spend a great weekend.

Stayed in Hotel Beau Rivage on a recent family holiday. The experience was amazing from the outset. The staff were welcoming, friendly and extremely professional. There was an excellent selection of food for breakfast and evening meals. I look forward to staying in the hotel on any return trips and would highly recommend.

Top marks because the staff were extremely friendly and helpful which makes all the difference to the experience. In particular, they went out of their way to help with regard to item we left behind.
The refurbished room (on the garden side of the hotel) was extremely comfortable. We were not disturbed by traffic noise or the church bells. Great location for having a stroll around Baveno. It seemed a little pricey but I guess you pay a premium for the location. Breakfast was fairly standard for a big hotel. Very easy parking for the car, (but it was not high season.)

Hotel was in a great location, very modern clean rooms. Dining was not to good with limited choice and not worth the money, food never really hot. The location was fantastic right on the main road across from the lake side. The staff were very helpful.

Superb location, right on edge of lake, close to ferry terminal, bars, cafes and restaurants. Housekeeping cannot be faulted, rooms kept spotless daily. Warm welcome from all staff whenever we met them. Although travelling with a tour group, the daily breakfast and dinner menu was always good and varied. Spacious comfortable lounge and bar and helpful and efficient reception. Cannot fault it

We don't know what to say again: our favorite hotel on Lake Maggiore; great staff, great restaurant, great pool, great fitness, great location, great parking, great wi-fi connection : just fabulous!!! We suggest to book the rooms overlooking the pool and mountains
