Good hotel near the lake and in the central part of the city.
I was there as a part of the touristic group, and it was ok. Clean and cosy rooms , view from the window was fine.
Breakfast food was decent, with lots of options, like toasted bred , regular bread , croissants, fruits, Nutella, honey, cheese, salami, ham , hot drinks, cold drinks. For the dinner, food was pretty MEH! The company who booked the hotel probably asked them to make the cheapest possible menu, and as a result we got some food as you'll get in the state free hospital.

Good location central. Horrible food the chefs clearly need retraining. Mostly Friendly waiters but some up-tight

Stresa and Lake Maggiore are not to be missed. The Moderno makes a good base. I suggest you ask about the rooms before selecting, as the hotel encompasses several buildings and the rooms vary. The Hotel is a good value for the price, but it is ageing and somewhat dated. We like firm mattresses and our room had the firmest mattress ever!

As for the restaurant affiliated to the hotel, this is a tourist trap !
The meal I ordered wasn’t accurately described, to such an extent that I had to send it back to the kitchen straight away and order something else instead. They said there would be no problem and charged me for it anyways.
The least you can do is to describe the plate properly in order to avoid a big misunderstanding and upset clients.
Not recommended at all.

At centre location, a block from ferry terminal to islands. Many restaurants within a few blocks. Perfect for a short stay. Coffee is good. Bed is firm, excellent hot shower, water pressure good. Hotel has elevator.

The staff was slow despite the lack of customers. There was no free wifi and the portions were to small.

The rooms were nice and clean, staff friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in a good location, but I was expecting an Italian hotel to serve Italian food, which for the most part they have not.

Had a lasagne in the restaurant and it was the smallest size portion Ive had anywhere.
Also the Spritz was 6.50 highest price I've paid on my Italian holi1. It was not listed on the bar menu.
