Reviews
The juice in the lobby is for sure a nice touch.
The bathroom was extremely spacious, but supercold. The heating was broken, and also you needed to wait good 20 seconds for the water (both, sink and shower) to get warm before you could wash.
The hotel toilet (the one in the lobby) was EXTREMELY dirty and wet.
On the positive side, the hotel’s location is truly excellent, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city. The rooms themselves were lovely—modern, impeccably clean, and very comfortable, providing a great sanctuary after a long day. Furthermore, we must stress that the staff we interacted with were genuinely nice and helpful.
However, the major issue was clearly understaffing. It was obvious that the small team was handling an overwhelming volume of tasks due to the high demand from guests. While they always tried their best to assist with a smile, the long waits for check-in/out, room service, or simple requests were noticeable because they were constantly overloaded.
This is a four-star property with a five-star location, but the service speed reflects a two-star operation purely due to the lack of adequate personnel. Investing in more staff would make this hotel truly outstanding.
The rooms were spotless, very comfortable, and impressively soundproof — I hardly heard any noise from outside or the corridor. The shower had great water pressure and was modern and refreshing after a long day of exploring.
Breakfast was well organised; the area is compact but cleverly arranged so there’s enough space for everyone to sit comfortably. The variety of food and coffee quality were both very good.
Overall, the Mercure Bergamo offers a great balance of comfort, convenience, and service — I’d definitely stay here again.
