TH La Thuile - Planibel Hotel

Great reception staff.Room was lovely very warm and modern. We did move because the Buvette bar plays very loud music until midnight and we have 2 small kids who weren't sleeping. We we're in the residents block in the 1000's. We got moved to the 4000th block which was much better. The kids club TH kids was fantastic 👏 20euros per day if the are having lunch or 7 euros without lunch.. they can go from 9-5 which is excellent and the kids really enjoyed it. All the staff were excellent and Elisabeth especially was fantastic, very kind and loving. The skiing was great. You don't need a locker as most people put their ski stuff outside their rooms to dry. It's very busy in the locker room and the stairs are very narrow but you can use the lift at the back which takes you up and outside where the butchers is. Ski school was brilliant for my 2 kids and me. It was very social and the instructors were excellent. Theirs a supermarket on site which has lots variety. The local town has lovely restaurants with local specials and it was always a good meal. The local wine is delicious 😋.
The mountain restaurants are all delicious. Loratrak is super 👌. But you must get in there before 12pm if you don't have a booking. Normally they accommodate but only for 1hr30 max.
Gift shop is really nice. Not too expensive. Overall a great experience. We would return but the burette bar music has definitely not been a great experience!!

❓️❓️❓️From 2023/24❓️❓️❓️
"The Hotel management really tremendously lets itself down due to extremely poor regulation of the pick-up/drop off parking, both on the entry ramp and under the portico.
Our attempted arrival was in the evening, after a long 12 hour drive, and then having no access to the frontage of Hotels reception hall, was very infuriating.
7 other vehicles were selfishly parked there for the night, next to the hotel wall. (I checked later). This created little room for other guests coming and going to arrive or depart easily. The single lane of arriving cars and minibuses, were then greeted with a lengthy queue to the front doors up and along the ramp. There was no room to pass one another due to the obstructions caused by parked vehicles along the ramp and portico.
Reloading on departure was no better !!
The unmanaged and poorly regulated situation, has put me off returning, as it was a massive waste of time when feeling tired after a long journey.
Unbelievably it then also delayed our departure schedule by 30 minutes as well, due to the same congestion.
But even worse was the abuse and honking of horns from other later arrivals towards us, once we did finally reach the unloading point ourselves. This after, we too had frustratingly been in their shoes, but in a more polite, patient and courteous manner.
It was Chaos !!
Please TH Hotels get it sorted.
NO PARKING on the ramp or portico.
This would create around 6 quick drop off / loading spaces on the right hand side with room then, on the left hand side to drive by and move away. (Like an F1 Pit-lane).
I believe drop off / pick up time should be limited to 15 minutes maximum.
Until this is rectified satisfactorily, I will not be keen to return.
