This place is small but well kept. Be aware than when you make an appt. to check in, you arrive at the entrance and someone buzzes you in. They do not come to the door and open it as I would have if I owned this nicely furnished B&B. It's so small (5 rooms?), someone could greet each guest since it's not on the same floor as the actual accommodations. We felt rushed while checking in by the owner....

Lovely historic and quaint hotel in a very central location. Avoid the front first floor room No. 21 as the windows don't keep the sound out of the character-filled lane outside! Note - you can't drive to this and many other hotels in the pedestrian area of the old town in Lucca. Best gelati in Lucca opposite the front door of the hotel.

Great host Livio was superfriendly and helpful! The room was very nice, with a bit of special atmosphere (wooden beam ceiling). Perfectly clean. Nice breakfasts (Italian sweets, but you cen also ask for tosts, cheese and salami).

Ideal for people travelling with a car. Provides a private parking space. City is very near by car but also not very far to walk. Nice hosts. The breakfast was ok for Italian measures.

Location in a quiet area, large area. The swimming pool is open 9.30-19.00. Sunbeds and umbrellas, no food allowed. Apartment ok, two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen. Kitchen equipment ok, no sponge, washing-up liquid, cloths. Outside there is a table and chairs, an umbrella. Sun loungers and a clothes dryer available. Wifi problem.

The place is peaceful and quiet. I found the apartment clean enough and the owners kind enough. The pool has a nice view but there is no place in the shade. You have to pay separately for linen and electricity consumption. The air conditioner is placed in a room and to cool the whole house the doors must be kept open ... Rating: more than enough.

Not bad, beautiful place, isolated and quiet but at the same time close to several places of great interest. Nice and well maintained swimming pool but without a trace of shade despite the structure under which the deckchairs are placed. More than decent apartment, clean and quiet, with a nice outdoor space. Honest price. To go back.

Beautiful area, but the apartments desperately needs new paint and modernization. They even had CRT TVs which I havent seen in 20 years.

In addition to being in a great location within the walls of Lucca, La Butterfly echos the charm of its owner. This apartment is the epitome of luxury and elegance. The furnishings are very well thought out and create an atmosphere of pure delight. The owner pays very close attention to detail and offers many tips for enjoying Lucca and she also offers delicious treats to her guests.

Our host Laura was very nice and very helpful. We were on our honeymoon and we recommend this place!!! The B&B was very clean and we felt very welcomed. Lucca is an amazing town, we will try to be back!

We booked for the last night of our honeymoon. Laura made us very welcome in her home and gave us lots of tips of what to see in Lucca. We went to Puccini opera which is held almost daily. It was a tad touristy but the music was wonderful so would recommend it. The room was huge, very comfortable and beautifully decorated. For breakfast there was a lovely selection of cakes, croissants, fruit, cereal...

I had an amazing stay at La Butterfly Relais this past July. The apartment has so much character and it's well situated in the heart of Lucca. Even during the heatwave I slept comfortably in the room with just a fan on. Laura is a wonderful host who was helpful with my every request and question. She also made a fabulous breakfast for me.

Lucca is a marvellous city and the Butterfly Relais is such a lovely and romantic medieval b&b! Laura is a very lovely hoster :)), a very good company and every morning your breakfast here will be great and tasty. You will fall in love with Lucca's atmosphere.

Massive room, superfast wifi, fridge, great shower and a friendly host. Plus free parking, credit for breakfast at the next-door Stella Pasticceria, and only a few minutes to the city walls. Excellent!

Nice place with air conditioning, TV, and they have a nearby bakery. If you book one of their rooms, they give you a ticket to have breakfast in the bakery (and they have a huge selection of gorgeous pastries)

This is a very good hotel, | stayed there for 7 nights about 2 years ago, all the bedding is very clean and I had no problem getting to sleep as they have air conditioning. Perfect location in Lucca. Beautiful, very old, historic property but very well maintained. Very nice terrace. It even has a parking garage you can use which is not common in Lucca. We ate at the recommended restaurants and it was excellent. Super breakfast and an amazing host.

This husband and wife team is so delightful and hospitable! What a great little gem we found in this place, beautiful room with probably 15' ceilings and fit for nobles. In the kitchen and at the dining table you feel right at home. A convenient 5 minute walk to the center of town ... if you don't stop at all the fantastic stores along the way. Oh and the homemade apple cake is so so delicious!

Best option for a night (or two or three or more) in Lucca. Right in the center, but tucked away in a quiet street and wrapped around an inner courtyard so you can wake up to birds rather than cars and after parties. Stayed here during an off road cycle tour of Tuscany. The owner Mika is so kind and helpful. Location is great - so easy to get to everywhere & it is quiet. Our room was a bit of a disappointment because it was advertised as a ‘garden room’ when in reality it was dark; its only window was high up giving a view of someone’s washing line in a small courtyard. That may be the booking app’s fault though

The B&B has the perfect location in the heart of Lucca. You can walk everywhere, for example the tower and the main train station and delicious Trattorias. Mirco is a super friendly and attentive host who will help you with everything. The obly downside is the think walls, depending in your neighbours arguing. You shouldnt be sensitive towars that. Besides that, highly recommended.... ;)

Very nice place to stay in Lucca! The hotel is in the middle of the city center but in a quiet street so there's no noise at night. If you park at the free parking spot it's only a 10 minute walk to the hotel. Absolutely perfect! The room was very clean and cool. Nice place to stay inside Lucca. The rooms in the ground floor are small but clean, and with good bathroom. No refrigerator in the rooms but one in the main reception. Maybe it needs air condition in the hot summer days. Also a lot of moisture smell. The instructions were clear and the host was excellent.

I really love the charm of this place, my only negative comment is not actually about the place but the people outside at night as they can be loud while they stay in front of the hotel as they enjoy chatting. Hard to sleep at times.

We reserved a room that was on the second floor (in other words, the 3rd floor). We were hoping for a ground floor, but we were advised that was not available. However, we were moved to anothe location, with minimum stairs. We were very grateful!

Fantastic and helpful staff, who helped us change the room, because in the first one we had to wash ourselves in the bathtub, repaired with silicone, placing our heads under the tap, since the shower was unusable. Stunning ornate palazzo located perfectly in the center of the old walled town. Easy to get to from Lucca station, bus 3+ drops you off out front. Fairytale atmosphere, each ceiling is ornately painted, marble, flooring…the accomodation was certainly a highlight of our stay. This is not a place for modern minimalist. It has all the weight and beauty of time that has passed. It is a memory rather than a presence. Very interesting and unusual place to stay - 17th century palazzo. It felt exciting living in that environment. Though it looks a bit old at the first glance, it definitely has its charm. An absolutely gorgeous bed+breakfast with one of the most incredible rooms I've ever stayed in - I literally felt like royalty every time I woke up, left and came back to the Loreley suite. Only a few rooms in a lovely old Palazzo still inhabited by the owner on the ground floor. Big and nice rooms and the breakfast room is an epiphany - high ceilings and full of baroque paintings! It didn't feel posh though, but welcomed and very family style. Would definitely recommend it! It's inside the city walls and you can reach all the attractions by foot.

This place was amazing. Beautiful location, nice and helpful host, reasonable price, good and clean rooms. Minimum two days stay (we paid 200€ in May). The host speaks good english. The pool is nice and clean. The garden was beautiful. She sold their own local wine and olive oil and there's multiple vineyards surrounding the farm. We have been going here since 2008 and we see ourselves as part of Daniela's family everytime we're there. Lovely place, nice swimming pool, great olive oil, maar close to city centre of Luca and did I say that Daniela makes you feel at home. From flowers upon arival to the little chats. Le Murelle, Via per Tuscany as it supposed to be!

The biggest problem with this property is that we booked it from the ******* website listing as a Hotel. It is not a hotel. It is an air bnb. It should be listed on Vrbo, not *******. We loved this historic and quirky hotel. The room and bath were spotless and comfortable, and the bed and linens were high-quality. We didn't like the stairs (there was no elevator), but it was only two floors. We had help with our bags at checkout. The location is perfect in a little alleyway connecting two main streets. We would stay here again.

This review is for the Lucca Relais B&B. The location is good, close to the city walls. The rooms are quite basic, but to be expected for the price you pay. The bed is comfortable and the shower is good, which are the main two things. Would recommend to those who are looking for are staying in Lucca for 1/2 nights and are only going to use the room to sleep in.
