Optimal location if you want to be close to the confines of the ZTL if arriving by car. Located in the heart of Matera, which means you can’t get there by car, but the views and the room made up for the challenge of getting to it. Everyone was very professional. The room was large, clean and suited our needs. It felt like we were staying in someone’s mansion.

The building and the location are stunning, so as the rooms some of which have a panoramic view over the Sassi. Very nice and friendly staff and a very good level of service overall. The hotel has its own parking which is a huge plus as you can forget your car for the duration of your stay here.

By far the best hotel on our 2 week southern Italy trip. Very friendy staff, great garden rooms, comfortable bed, clean, nice and cosy. Just like at home! with a great breakfast. We had the most beautiful stay here at the Albergo Italia, Matera. Made even more special by Paolo, he went out of his way for us, even securing us restaurant bookings, when the restaurant seemed booked out, nothing was too much trouble for him. Matera was a real bucket list place to visit for us, and the Albergo is so central and has such a great view over the city. Even with the central location...

The hotel has been recently refurbished to a really high standard. Room is nice, clean, comfortable.

Perfect location, right in the middle of everything. Our room had an amazing balcony and was very spacious. The only downside was that the WiFi in that room was not working while we were there, but the issue should be fixed now.

Beautiful masseria, nearby Matera. The drawback of the central location is that the place feels more touristy rather than authentic, when compared to other masseria's. The room was good, however it couldn't get chill inside, even with the AC on Power the whole night. The breakfast was ok, choices were limited, fruit juice was not freshly made.

Just magic. The experience at Masseria Fontana di Vite is unique. I was pampered the whole weekend in one of the most romantic and authentic place I have ever been in my life. Food is so good and the service perfect. Highly suggested.

What a beautiful place! Our first encounter was with Francesco who is warm and welcoming. He showed us to our room and told us about the history of the hotel. We had two fantastic dinners at the hotel. The chef is amazing!! I read about the food before we got here and boy, it didn't disappoint! Our favorite person was Erasmo! A fantastic little spot. Really excellent service from the family (our flight was 3 hours late and they were there at 1:30am) to welcome us to our large, well air conditioned (was 36 degrees) room. Nice breakfast, full of local produce. Definitely need a car if you want to explore the area

Wide view of the endless fields next to Matera. This old farm has been converted in an idealistic hotel that is just starting. Loved the big rooms with old furniture together with more modern accents. The pool is very good, but the big score of this hotel is an even better breakfast. Most products come from the farm it self! Hope to see them soon, definitely coming back!

Charming Masseria in the middle of the countryside. Well-appointed and equipped rooms. Great staff, attentive and courteous. Quality dishes are served in the restaurant, and the service is efficient. Breakfast misses a hot option though. The owners add a nice presence. The only downside concerns the price which seems a bit over what you would expect for this standing. This resort is about 15 minute drive from the historic district of Matera. I had stayed in the center of town in the other cities we visited in Puglia. I liked the quietness of this location. The room was elegantly furnished with high arching ceiling. The staff was excellent and the breakfast was great.

It is a cave hotel and if you have a car, it is the best for Matera sightseeing. The facilities are the best for the price compared to the area around Matera. However, there is nothing to do around the hotel.

It’s ok hotel for fit people but several areas of mold in the bathrooms ( we had friends in another room- same mold) is unacceptable! Extremely dangerous step down at the bathroom entrance- waiting for accident to happen! Great breakfast!

We were knocked out by the comtempory feel and stylish interior to what is simply a cave. It was fresh and perfect. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. Even the lovely lady at breakfast remembered what we liked to drink with our breakfast.

This is a nice place near the "Sassi" and they let you check in as late as midnight. Good breakfast and nice personnel wrap it up.

I really liked that there was everything you could need to be comfortable. You can tell there is someone considerate behind the administration. There was abundant drinking water, teas and coffee, water boiler, cups, etc in the common area. It was three beautiful Jordanians. Matera and the Murgia is unique and the position of the apartment practically in the stones allows you to live it in full day and night. A beautiful hotel just behind the dom of the city. It was a convent of nuns, years ago: on coming here you have to bear it in mind, because you will find no 5star-hotel comfort. If you are ok with that, you will have a really awesome experience here!

This is difinately the place to stay in Matera. Apart from being a great cozy, fine hotel you get to be in historical place with extra oridinery staff and owner.

We stayed for a 24h pit stop in Matera, we are glad we stayed at Corte San Pietro as Giuseppe and Cosimo made our 24h as perfect as possible. They did managed to book la Lopa restaurant who was great. Finding a table outside during ferragosto in Italy is almost impossible.
