Best host - helpful and super-friendly ! As foreigners we appreciated his help and enthusiasm. The room was close to Sassi, bus station and local markets.

Very welcoming really nice experience, owner very helpful and for the little price and really good. All those who say no are those who for 25 euros per person also want to be carried around, but kidding? !! However highly recommended

Convenient location in the center but parking is difficult to find. I stayed 4 nights and the bathroom was never cleaned and no towel change. The owner is kind.

Excellent location in the very center of the town. Although the accommodation does not include breakfast - my daughter and I were in for a surprise. A delicious breakfast buffet with a wide selection of delicacies. Parking space in the garage is only 5 euros/day. There is a bus stop on the top floor of the parking garage. The bus takes you to the very center of Matera. Simple logistics really.

I missed the opportunity to stay at this apartment but still wanted to leave a positive review for the nice host! I booked a 2-night stay at this apartment. On the morning of the check-in date, the host texted to inform me there was a drinking water problem at Matera - tap water was polluted with bacteria and the mayor issued a warning that tap water couldn't be used for drinking or personal hygiene...

Not cheap, but the house has an excellent position if you want to experience life in the heart of the Sassi di Matera. Should you decide to, be prepared to carry your luggage through steep little roads paved in stones, so it will not be easy to reach if you have a physical problem. Michele the owner is an exquisite person. He welcomed us in the small square above the house and on the way down to the house he explained the history of Matera and gave us excellent advice.
