Hotel Vecchia Oliviera

We had a fabulous 4 day honeymoon stay at this hotel. The location is so convenient in the town. The room is large and views unbeatable. Lovely breakfast. The pool area is quiet, relaxing, and the view is outstanding. Parking included. The staff were incredible- thank you so much for the extra touches, we will remember our stay forever ❤️

I had an amazing experience here which might only be appreciated by cyclists. I rode up the hill after a day of riding through the mud and gravel of the "strade bianche" and was greeted by the hostess who immediately offered me an area in the back yard to clean and work on my bike. As a bonus, the sliding glass door of my room opened up onto the patio so I could do "bikepacking" tasks from the comfort of my own room. There's also an indoor bike parking area but I kept my bike on my (sort of) private patio.

Aside from the amazing hospitality to a cyclist (instead of looking at my bike and wrinkling their noses) the breakfast was awesome!

We loved everything. The customer service was exceptional. Super friendly welcome. Always happy to help. Room was fantastic with amazing views (number 8). Breakfast excellent. There is nothing negative to say. Thank you so much. We cannot recommend Hotel Vecchia enough.

The hotel is in a perfect place inside the town and with an amaIng views. The receptionist is wonderful and careful

Lovely little hotel with fantastic view, great breakfast, and excellent service. Parking included, which is guite an experience itself. Driving in city is restreicted for a reason. Many good restaurants near. Lovely town with unbelievable wines.

I am writing this as we are flying home from our trip in Italy! We had an incredible stay at Hotel Vecchia Oliviera in Montalcino! The rooms were spacious, the large window opened to a breathtaking view, and Elisa & Eleonora Made our trip incredibly enjoyable with a great breakfast every morning and fantastic recommendations for things to do and see in Montalcino and Tuscany. Elisa & Eleonora, if you read this, thank you for making our visit to Tuscany so memorable! Ciao!

Small, rustic hotel with pool, parking and garden. Excellent and friendly service. Breakfast options standard for Italy but perhaps underwhelming by international standards, focus on lunch and dinner instead. Building and rooms slightly outdated but well kept. Best rate booking directly.

My wife and I spent two wonderful weeks in Upper Tuscany (Lucca, Bolgheri, Greve, Montecatini), Florence and Venice. After she returned home for work, I spent another week driving around Lower Tuscany (Siena, San Gimignano, Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino) before proceeding to France for ten days. After three splendid nights in Pienza, I booked two nights at this hotel, sight unseen, because it apparently had good parking and was offering a single room at an unusually good price.

The room turned out to be a small but entirely adequate room at the base of the hotel, opening on to the terrace. Given the rate, I was satisfied, though it was a "come down" from the much nicer rooms in which I had stayed during the preceding weeks. The view from the spacious terrace was magnificent, the staff were warm and friendly, the parking was fine, and the proximity of the hotel to the center of town -- while permitting fairly easy egress for drives out of town--made it an ideal base of operations.

After my first night, the wonderful proprietors, Elisa and Eleonora, offered me a much larger and more pleasant room upstairs that had become available for the same rate, if I were willing to book it for one more night. This may have been because some masons were doing work outside my original room, but it was nevertheless a very gracious and generous proposal I gladly accepted.

With respect, I cannot RAVE about the breakfast, which was fine, but not in the same league as some my wife and/or I enjoyed at other, comparable accommodations in Italy. I can say, however, that the breakfast, and especially the coffee, are very good and well within the standard of most comparable properties in Europe.

I can also say that Elisa (with whom I enjoyed a few delightful conversations) and Eleonora are unfailingly warm, welcoming, and gracious, that the hotel is very well managed and maintained, and that it offers an exceptional value. The views of the Val d'Orcia are fantastic. I very much hope to return with my wife, one day, for the area, despite its dark medieval history, is now a slice of Heaven.

Best hotel in Italy. Elise and Lenora (sp?) went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Breakfast was fabulous. Views were even better!!! Perfect location.
