Hotel Des Bains Terme in Montegrotto Terme

We greatly enjoyed our staying at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and supportive. We arrived early and they even granted us a free early check in. The room and all spaces, termal pools and spa were perfectly clean at all times. The location was perfect, in the middle of greenery and with the possibility to make landscape strolls.

I've been a regular customer for several years now. Huge park, beautiful hall, fantastic pool, little chaos, attentive customer service, and there's even a piano. No architectural barriers!

I chose it because there is a beautiful park where I can walk with my Chihuahua... I must say, he felt very comfortable because he could calmly wait for me next to the sun loungers on the lawn while I enjoyed the pool. Everyone is very kind, the food is excellent, especially the vanilla cake... Divine.. Large and beautiful room on the sixth floor with a wonderful view, but above all, very clean and fragrant. The only drawback I would say is to redo the pool tiles.

Today I saw it's a holiday anniversary. We have been here three years ago. Honestly I loved it. Staff was friendly and fluent in many languages. The place was quiet and relaxing. Everything was very clean and spot on. I remember one gentleman in shorts used to check everything all the time.

My fourth stay at this lovely family owned hotel. Charming staff who endeavour to meet the demands and expectations of all of their guests (mostly German, Swiss and Italian). Warm, friendly, hospitable and kind. Multilingual. All day poolside beverages and snacks. Evening aperitifs. Extensive outdoor covered patio. Live entertainment. Excellent value for money.

Comfortable and clean rooms with fabulous unobstructed views of the sunrise OR sunset over the Euganean Hills.

Delicious and fresh meals presented with a wide variety of options - gluten free, vegan etc. I recommend booking a room with full board in advance as it will save you a substantial amount of money. Alternatively, 1/2 board if you plan to explore the area in which case you will likely take one of your meals while out.

The hotel is conveniently located near (6 minute walk) the Terme Euganee-Abano-Montegrotto train station for quick day trips to Venice (30 min), Padua (15 min), Bolognia (60 min) and beyond.

Hotel Des Bains is surrounded by a 50,000 square meter park and home to a particularly excellent termae facility (newly renovated) that provides outstanding thermal, wellness and beauty treatments; it also features a massive sparkling turquoise thermal pool. Part of the charm at this hotel is what remains of its original design details - a hybrid of gorgeous retro 60s tiles in pristine condition. Think "La Dolce Vita". The Fitness facility and Thermarium (saunas) are fairly basic and could be improved upon. IMO, the addition of a Finnish sauna would be a great addition.

Pro Tip: I highly recommend booking a morning fango treatment with Mirko; sunrise fango with him is unequivocally my favourite way to start the day! After visiting 5 other spas in the surrounding area and having had +60 fango treatments throughout the past 18 months, I can assuredly say that Mirko is the best kept secret in the region and an absolute star!

Proper cleaning.
The only negative point is the restaurant which is not up to 4 stars.

Beautiful spacious rooms overlooking a huge park. Large very elegant entrance hall.
Constant 34 ° outdoor swimming pool that continues inside covered. Too bad not being able to use it in the evening as they turn off the lights. Meticulous preparation of the mud in various tanks used for this purpose to capture all the innumerable properties of the thermal water.
Discreet cuisine but needs improvement.
