Suffering mobility issues, I called the Leon d'Oro's reception and asked if they would mind sending up a ham sandwich.
A few minutes later I got a call saying that if a ham sandwich was what I really wanted then they would send one up, but wouldn't I prefer a salad or some pasta?
I ended up enjoying an absolutely delicious bowl of seafood pasta, - a splendid way to pass what I thought was going to be a bleak evening!

This is a gorgeous family owned and run business. They’ve been here for 200 hundred years. The food in their restaurant is incredible and it’s right on the lake with an excellent view of Isola S. Guilio. There is also a great spa inside the hotel which is worth going to at least once during your trip.

Very unfriendly staff, amazing how they can have any guests.
If you stay in the Hotel Contrade del Monti you are obliged to walk with all your luggage to the Leon´Oro and the same for the check out. If it is hot forget it.
The Concierge behaves like an arrogant nightmare, blaming the customer and I guess the word "apologize" is non existing in his world

Do not come here - completely overpriced for what it is. Not even real blankets, dumbest shower design, most unfriendly staff I have ever seen in a hotel (the staff there barks more than talks, we got yelled at 3 times before drinking our first cappuccino), bad breakfast in a stuffy room, more like a 1 star hotel

The breakfast was as amazing as the view. It was right on the lake! couldn't have asked for better. The staff was so kind and helpful. The room was clean.

My room was cute with access to the lake terrace. I even had a bathtub and a multi jet shower. The bed for my personal taste could have been a little softer. Breakfast was simple and descent. Reception staff was amazing! What's important to know, is that you have limited access to the Hotel by car. The way there is very narrow and for smaller cars only at a certain time a day. It has car parks a little further away tho.

Breathtaking views, beautiful rooms, the best food we've ever eaten and the service was great, even with my pidgeon Italian. We'll be back, hopefully soon!

Make sure you will add an hour for kitchen to bring you a starter and then another half an hour to give a bill.

Perfect view of the lake, excellent food and very good service. Very accomodating for gluten free and had both gluten free pasta and bread.
