Location is good. Aircond is not working well . The bathtub shower hardware is too old , not perfoming well and can NOT switch between shower and tap . Bathroom to small for bathtub ...nowdays when you dont have enough space better get rid of bathtub.
It's located on the waterfront of Lago D'Orta, and Isola San Guilio in an eye shot distance. Nice vista on the lake. The property is well maintained and the staff are very helpful. I fee like this area better than Lake Como in which is less touristy and more quiet and better for relaxation
Classic Hotel next to lake Classic Hotel next to lake, good parking, Tired bathroom
Environment: It is a cozy and relaxing environment. The overall environment is very good. The breakfast is simple but not casual. There is a beautiful lake and island view across the street. The breakfast is very comfortable.
Went there for a coffee in the terrace. Great location by the water although after a while there was a sewerage smell…
Our lake view room was clean and comfortable with a lovely balcony and view. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. I am GF and a basket with bread, muffins, cornflakes was provided every day. Orta is a lovely town with good access to boats and lots of different restaurants.

Cosy, really nice hotel in the best of locations in Orta San Giulio. I spent 4 nights here woth my friends and it was a lovely, very relaxing time. The pool has amazing views, the breakfast/dinner terrace is just perfect and the staff is very nice. All was great. Thank you!
What a great position! The hotel overlooks Lake Orta and the tranquil isola san giulio. We checked in and the lady on reception was very helpful throughout our trip. There is a 7 minute walk downhill to arrive in the centre of the medieval town and small harbour where you can catch the public ferry ( €3,80 return pp) or take a private hire to the island. The hotel’s restaurant has a great view and...
We were very pleased with our choice of this hotel in Lake Orta. As always, we booked directly with the hotel and chose a large room with a balcony overlooking the lake on the 3rd floor. It is walkable into town where you catch the ferries to go to places on the lake including San Giulio Island which we could easily see from our balcony! We had dinner at the hotel 2 nights, where we enjoyed good...
A lovely family run hotel. Easily accessible BEFORE the pedestrian only town itself so no hastles with luggage. Very friendly & efficient staff with everything spotlessly clean.Had large suite & terrace overlooking Orta San Giulio and beautiful Lake Orta. Also enjoyed separate large spa bath & separate shower. Lovely pool with sun loungers . Breakfast continental, ample choice , from...
We stayed at this hotel on the final night of our Rick Steve's Villages of Italy tour. The hotel was lovely. Overlooking the island in the middle of the lake was beautiful and so restful. Our room was very bright and large. We had a balcony to sit outside and enjoy the view. The bed was comfortable - sleeping was easy. The shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The staff was...
This fantastic hotel has incredible views, helpful, friendly staff, and a lovely pool. The room was large, and the breakfasts were delicious. It is a great value and location. We loved the short stroll into town. We enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it.

It's a wonderful step back in time. The intimacy of the hotel gushes in the design and detail of the property. Our room overlooked the lake. It was beautiful and comfortable. The food was magnificent, and the breakfast simply the best we've ever had. There's not much to do in San Guilio, but it's a charming medieval village, just a few hundred yards down a steep hill. A couple of days there is...
Has to be right up the top of historical elegance and charm. Stayed for 3 nights and went for a larger room with great views of the lake and surroundings. From checkin to leaving the staff were right on point and very capable - almost one step a head at every moment. Breakfast outside on the vast patio was beautiful each morning as was the cocktail bar area each evening- all upscale and appointed...
This property is beyond stunning. The detail in every inch is astounding, specifically the lobby/welcome area. Our zania suite did not disappoint, with the most gorgeous bathroom you’ve ever seen, and a lovely view of the lake. (Take care to note that the pictures of the yellow rooms on their website do not do these colors justice - they are so gorgeous). The staff was so accommodating to us, specifically...
The villa is truly a stunning property with historical design. The location of the villa is near to the lake and the property boats sprawling gardens where you can spend the afternoons with a Spritz or glass of wine. The rooms are traditionally prepared - truly felt like a princess staying here. Needless to say, the breakfast was to die for!
Very personable staff, beautiful property and gorgeous room with balcony - excellent
Villa crespi is absolutely beautiful!  And the staff are wonderful. And the location is a nice walk to town. However I have no idea how they received a gold key last year!  The rooms were so hot I could not sleep (march) and I asked them to turn off the heat!  But that did not work. I also asked them not to continue spraying perfume all over my room because I was allergic… however housekeeping continued...

The view was amazing. We were given a room with a large balcony which was nice Breakfast and dinner were both very good. Receptionist was very helpful.
Lake view is beautiful. The room was spacious with a shared terrace. Breakfast offering was very good and above expectations
Couldn't be better. We felt very welcomed when we arrived.
Wonderful hotel in a stunning location. It made for a truly memorable holiday. The staff make you feel welcome and at home, and the restaurant is great and caters for Coeliacs. The facilities on offer are superb, you won't want to leave the hot tubs, and that drink on the terrace of an evening is oh so tempting. Plenty to see and do in the area with cycling, swimming (at the free public beach literally...
Excellent service from the gentleman in charge Alberto and his family and staff. Everyone is very helpful and friendly. The 3 rooms we had were lake facing and all were extremely clean and modern. Water pressure is good and the rooms were well lit. The location is also ideal, being very close to the lake and a few minutes walk to the town centre and the Sacro Monte. Breakfast was also nice with options...
We recommend this hotel and its location. The rooms are large, clean and air conditioned. The breakfast is very good. We had a lake view room where we enjoyed every ray of sunshine and the beautiful view. There are several hot tubs and relaxation areas available. The lake for swimming is really close (walking distance). The hotel has an excellent restaurant which we also recommend (we recommend the...

Suffering mobility issues, I called the Leon d'Oro's reception and asked if they would mind sending up a ham sandwich. A few minutes later I got a call saying that if a ham sandwich was what I really wanted then they would send one up, but wouldn't I prefer a salad or some pasta? I ended up enjoying an absolutely delicious bowl of seafood pasta, - a splendid way to pass what I thought was going to...
This is a gorgeous family owned and run business. They’ve been here for 200 hundred years. The food in their restaurant is incredible and it’s right on the lake with an excellent view of Isola S. Guilio. There is also a great spa inside the hotel which is worth going to at least once during your trip.
The breakfast was as amazing as the view. It was right on the lake! couldn't have asked for better. The staff was so kind and helpful. The room was clean.
My room was cute with access to the lake terrace. I even had a bathtub and a multi jet shower. The bed for my personal taste could have been a little softer. Breakfast was simple and descent. Reception staff was amazing! What's important to know, is that you have limited access to the Hotel by car. The way there is very narrow and for smaller cars only at a certain time a day. It has car parks...

The hotel is right by the lake and town square, great location with great breakfast and choice. Though the room is small, it comfortable and clean. The staffs are very friendly and welcoming.

We spent two nights at the hotel after a last minute booking. We were really impressed by the attention to details that the owners had taken in the refurbishment of the hotel. The location was great, and the staff were amazing :)
I dont understand why the hotel has such bad reviews... The rooms are super nice and the staff is super friendly!! The location is superb and I will defenitely be back when I am in Orta!! 10/10
Space of room is ok, bed is good, but too noise,.
Expensive for what they offer.
Hello, we had a great night by getting upgrade on the apartment with the view on the beach. The bad thing was communication, after 5 calls we finally got the personal at the front desk, and talked really fast to allow us letting the keys in the apartment for the check out. She didn’t know if we were able to go to breakfast or not. Reservation Marie Duloup

Stylish period room in a quiet, vehicle-free backstreet, a 2 minute walk from the main plazza/port. Fabulous shops including a wonderful breakfast cafe, The Palace, and a lovely family restaurant Ca'Mea, both a minute away on foot. A great base to unwind. Note, that this is a satellite building, with superb staff located at the Leon D'Oro Hotel in the main Plazza.
Great location, directly in the city centre but quiet. Comfortable and large rooms. Suggested for cyclists staying one or more nights in the region.
Located in the historic center, it has rather small rooms, although all in all functional. A little inconvenient to reach it because in the pedestrian area and being the cobbled streets it is difficult to tow suitcases. Very convenient for boarding the island from San Giulio.
A negative note concerns the method of contact, on the site there is the urban number of the structure which is not manned, in fact the check-in must be done at the Leon D'Oro hotel in Piazza Motta and then be accompanied here. It would be enough to make a call forwarding and everything would be simpler. The staff contacted on the phone and then met was very polite and friendly and important house...
Cute and close to the main town square - the lady at reception (in a sister hotel) was very nice and helpful. There is a nice little courtyard perfect for hanging out in a more secluded, quiet setting. The room seemed clean, the only thing was that the bathroom drain was clogged so the shower would fill up with water and took ages to drain. Other than that nice
A lot of noise in the room, it's a shame because the rooms are very nice... otherwise everything is fine

Lovely little hotel in a lovely town. Reception went above and beyond to help us print out a boarding pass. Terrific view of Lake Orta from the balcony. The only things that weren’t amazing: no air conditioner (and it was 34 degrees!) and no hand soap provided.
Perfect basic cheap accommodation in a great location, ideal as a Base to explore from
Little cozy place in the center of Orta, a couple of minutes from the main square. Exquisite food and very kind staff. Only forty euros for two main courses and two desserts (water, coffee, no wine and a wonderful complimentary starter)
Hotel is at the map pin but register at the specified address. Breakfasts are served at the Piazza, they are impressive and there's meal for all tastes. Clean rooms and free wifi.

Very good service and good quality facilities. Staff was very attentive and made us feel at home. Location is right next to a small beach on the lake Orta and a 10min drive from Orta San Giulio town centre.
Very nice people work here. Help with whatever you need. Rooms are simple, but very clean and many of them have lake view. The only problem is wi-fi in rooms. :) But works more stable on the first floor. 50 meters to the beach (paid one, but right after it there is a free one).
Absolutely a gem! Lovely family run hotel who can't do enough for you. We stayed in a group of 6 adults and 3 children. Over 3 rooms all in different areas of the hotel and all met our needs. Food - breakfast was a full continental option with fresh made coffee. Dinner we are there and we loved the food and the service. Going out their way to commidate the children. Views of the lake from all rooms...
The 2 boys aged 6 and 12, plus the wife and I loved it, way beyond our expectations. For what you pay you get a tremendous place to stay with great food , amazing breakfast with top notch coffee :) and fabulous staff. The table tennis table was a bit wonky but made it far more fun. Whats not to love.

We stayed more than 2 weeks on this campsite. We had a spectaculair view of the lake from our site. There is a tunnel under the road so you can go safely to the water. The facilities are splendid. Best campsite I have ever been in Italy. Very clean. We were afraid that we might suffer from the train-noise, because the railroad isn't far away, but it didn't caause any problems. The people of the...
Generous pitches which are well layed out in tiers overlooking the gorgeous lake. The facilities are basic and toilets lack loo roll and hand soap, I think this contributed to the toilets always smelling like a public city toilet. That being said we enjoyed the location and views enough to return again. Very relaxed vibe and no booking required.
We really liked the campsite, and stayed for 4 nights. The views are exceptional from up on the hillside, where the pitch is. It's also very close to Orta, a beautiful town with restaurants and cafes. The beach at the campsite is small and pretty crowded, which I'd say is the only downside to this place. If you want piece and quiet I'd recommend getting a standard pitch on the hillside and not one...
Views to Lake are beautiful. Camp is on both sides of the road. Lake pitches lovely but not enough toilets and showers and very dated. Overpriced compared to other sites of better quality in the Lakes. Shop sells great cheeses and meats.
Well organized terass campsite, right on the lake. The prices are fine, better then on the coast, we found out. We got one of the last places all the way at the top and had shade until about 11, which was great. The campsite had its own private place along the water and there's a small campshop with a nice variety of cheese and meat. Staff is friendly too and the town is at walking distance. Showers...
A beautiful setting on the lake shore. We loved our time here. It's a very special place to visit.

They should mention that there is no parking possibiliy at the Hotel, at least 5 to 10min by foot and it‘s not even allowed to unload in front of the Hotel.
Nice hotel with a lake review that is in the main piazza. Central located and accessible to the area shops and restaurants.
I was a bit dubious reading the other reviews. Placed directly in the square with access through the cafe below to the rooms upstairs. Firstly you have to go to their sister hotel Caterina to book in and get the directions to park in the old part of town to drop your bags off and then go back up to park your car on waste land with a gate, which is free. A bit of a faff but manageable. The room was...
Hotel in the main square of Orta San Giulio, a spectacle of the country. Excellent service, the very kind lady gave us all the explanations for parking which in these countries is always problematic. The room is very beautiful from an architectural point of view, with an exposed shower, however not very functional, bed with uncomfortable side backrest, lack of space for clothes and support and at night...
Very nice hotel.. cozy/modern.. right in the middle of it all. It has a parking lot, that is convenient, still you need to walk 1 km to get to the hotel.. the breakfast was amazing, with the local market going on that day.. perfect italian setting.
Breakfast was made up of a lot of leftover cakes and food from the day before (we recognised them), service staff at hotel lobby was polite but did not go the extra mile - I) did not agree to helping us book restaurant within the same hotel group ii) made us walk with our luggage to another office to return our keys even when we had already made all payment. We tried the roof-top brasserie. The view of the lake and the island is spectacular. Food was excellent and so was the service. Prices are rather on the high-end, but the quality of the food and the service are worth.
Room a bit small but okay as the main purpose was the restaurant. Amazing technical skills, clean perfect flavours combined in elegant and perfect creations from chef Andrea Monesi. Excellent wine pairing. One to remember!
We had the 5 course menu of chefs choice. The whole experience was brilliant, I couldn’t recommend it enough. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The young waiter was excellent and did the role perfectly. The food was fantastic like nothing I’ve had before. The wine pairing is worth doing and really added to the experience. Thank you.
A fabulous restaurant, nestled in a beautiful building in the center of the town. The setting is just perfect - a tiny stone staircase, open brickwork, a fireplace and tables dressed with white linen and delicate chinaware. The meal was beautiful with each dish exhibiting skills and techniques in presentation and flavour. We loved every dish and enjoyed the subtle flavours hidden in each one such as...
Very delicious. Bit too expensive. Some wines were too expensive, some were acceptable. Staffs were little too careless. I visited restaurant twice. Every dish was perfectly cooked as rare. Chef must be caring to cook very carefully. There were only 2 staffs, 1 was disappearing often (maybe went back earlier?). Another was focusing to serve to all tables. So there were often nobody when we needed...
Great place and fantastic food. Capesante with verza in easy bagna cauda are a must. You definely need to try them. You want to try the 7 courses chef menu with paired wines (yes, it comes with a total of 7 glasses of wine!), being sure to book a room upstairs so there's no need for driving.

B&B Al Dom is in a fantastic location and everything about the place was faultless. We can't think of anything that we'd change. The room was enormous and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was great and the care and consideration from Massimo and his wife was impeccable. A fantastic stay - we can't wait to return.
Incredible little B&B with private access to the lake and a beautiful terrace to sunbath and enjoy a swim. Breakfast was super delicious as well with a lot of choice. The owners have been super kind and friendly. Will definitely come back here again!!!

The staff was super kind and helpful with any questions we had. The little Spa Area is very nice after a long day of exploring. There's filtered water, coffee and tea available all day long but the absolut highlight was the breakfast! With homemade yogurt, cheese, butter and juices, so many different cakes and sweets. We had a really great stay.

A wonderful agritourism. The rooms are nice, cozy and clean. The staff is exceptionally friendly. The breakfast was very rich, fresh, local, delicious and offered every day some new delicacies. Stayed in the rooms for a few days, which were lovely although we changed to upstairs as the downstairs room was immediately next to the breakfast area and are a bit loud for light sleepers. Breakfast is outstanding, the orange and almond cake one of the best I’ve ever had. Went for the tasting menu in the restaurant which was good but would recommend something else on the menu as not much of it...
We ate at the restaurant last night and were blown away by the food and service. The tasting menu is very good value at 32eur and the service is incredible. Our waitress recommended the most beautiful local wine. All food is locally sourced and they will happily give you more! VERY highly recommended.
